I, Simran Hanspal enrolled for an Advanced MBA Programme from Upgrad. I was approached by Mikhil Thomas Philip (Upgrad Consultant) informing me about the course. I told Mikhil I would like to apply for the same, however I wasn’t getting any loans due to having maximum EMIs according to my salary. He then asked me to get my brother to apply for a loan, which he did. I only enrolled in the course because I was promised I would be getting a job opportunity of minimum 12-15lpa in the month of August 2022 itself, which made sense to me since I would then be able to afford the EMI.
I have been facing a lot of issues with getting my admission cancelled since I was lied to, during the enrollment period by Mikhil Thomas who was my Upgrad consultant. I have been facing financial issues since I am helping my mother out with household expenses. I told Mikhil about these issues however he kept on insisting that I would be able to apply for a 12-15 lpa package in the second month itself(August 2022) since this is a corporate batch. Which was obviously a lie to get me onboard. I realised this later when I did not have access to the job portal. After informing Mikhil about the same, he arranged a call from the career team and they asked me to share my LinkedIn profile and resume, after doing that I did not hear from Upgrad for 15 days. Post which when I called, I came to know that only after 6 months I can apply for a job. Coming back to the conversation I had with Mikhil about my financial issues and time and again telling him that I cannot afford another EMI, now I am unable to pay my EMI. Due to this I reached out to upgrad for cancelling my admission. Dhir my current Upgrad consultant asked me to connect with my Upgrad buddy and after I spoke to her with Dhir on a conference call, she mentioned she will investigate this and hear the conversations I have had with Mikhil. Now it has been more than 2 weeks and Ruchi is MIA, She is not picking up Dhir’s calls. Everytime we fix a time she confirms she will be there but when the time comes she does not pick up.
I have recently been contacted by Mikhil himself stating he will help me get my admission cancelled since I do not want to continue with the course, he has not replied ever since. Ruchi Sharma (Upgrad buddy) called me to understand the issue after 3 weeks since I last spoke to her, I told her the exact same thing again, she then told me even if I do not want to continue the course I will still need to pay my EMIs and in case if I have any proof that would support my story there is a chance to get my admission cancelled and closure of the loan. I have sent her all the screenshots, call recordings that I have and she has not responded me with any updates whatsoever.
They have recently had a meeting without hearing my side of the story and decided that I should continue with the program and keep paying the student loan even though i cannot afford it.
Upgrad has been giving me a very hard time and since I am not using their services, I should not be paying for them too. Also what was promised to me has not been provided.

Taken two years MBA program from upgrad but the kind of support in terms of career opportunities has been intimated not provided. Apart from that they have a fake assignment evaluation process which forces learners to resist for the course paying extra money.

I gave Upgrad the caution money of Rs.25000 on 27.02.2021 for admission in Associate Diploma in Data Science from IIIT Bangalore. However few days after submitting the amount my father fell severely ill and due to sudden financial and family crisis I could not proceed further with the course, hence requested for refund. I applied for the refund on 05.03.2021 and I was told refund would be processed within 30 days but even after shooting so many emails and contacting them several times I still haven't received my refund.
