Capgemini — Irrelevant behavior of recruitment team during selection procedure

My interview was scheduled and in the initial discussion I asked them to schedule a call if the package is some x amount and after that the call was scheduled and I was informed that I was selected and informed that the file got approved and will get offer letter in 3 days. On the very next day they called again and told that we cannot afford the amount requested by you and told that it was rejected. If they cannot afford the amount that I initially asked then they should not have scheduled a call and then inform me that I am selected. And the worst part is that they simply said that sorry miss communication happened in our initial call. So request you to please pick this complaint on priority and take an action so that such cases cannot be repeated.
