We had sold our i10 through cardekho in October 2020. On 15th October 2022 I got mumbai traffic police sms for penalty to be paid on the car we sold. All the violations- 2020, 2021 and 2022- were post our selling off the car to cardekho.
I called the cardekho helpline and explained the entire scenario. The staff assured that all the necessary steps would be taken. I had also shot an email to them attaching all the details of penalty sent ot me by mumbai traffic police.
This morning I get another reminder from traffic police of outstanding dues on the same car sold 2 years back.
This is quite disturbing and violation of trust by Cardekho. I don't know if it means that the car has not been transferred and is being driven around for more than 2 years in our name and therefore any and all liability, like this one, falls on us.
Please let me know if I can take legal recourse and claim damages for mental harassment, breach of trust, and wilfull negligence by CarDekho.
