This is in regards to order # ind00181865 placed on 29 february 2020 from https://www.charleskeith.com/in/ website.
We have recently received an update from custom stating an amount of close to 100% of the purchase price to be paid as custom duty. I have few concerns in regards to this:
It's nowhere written on their website that how much would be the custom duty, atleast they could have provided the link which can navigate customer for the country wise customs.
If they are shipping overseas, so its their responsibility to provide complete information to customer and especially after taking their consent that i am fine to pay 100% duty.
For any buyer how can a seller assume that the customer should be aware of all the charges? You are dealing with international deliveries day in and out and should make it clear to the customer.
Anybody can miss the message which is being displayed on their website, they should take customer's consent by showing the charges and let customer click that i agree to pay 100% duty which is approx 10, 500 in my case.
For an order value of approx 10000 inr which is not small amount why will someone want to pay 10000 inr as custom duty charged?
2) we did place order from charles and keith india and even the source location was not specified for us to know or esquire the amount.
It is not that their are no charles and keith stores in india for their company not to be able to provide people with commodity locally.
3) i checked their express delivery option which (Includes the custom duty) is approximately 2700 inr. Why would someone not opt for the express delivery with such a huge difference.
So basically if i am using standard delivery (* delayed ones), i am paying 10000 inr and for an express delivery its 2700 inr, so why would anybody want to pay 10, 000 if i can get this by paying 2700, but the only thing is they did not mention the amount which customer has to pay which is ethically wrong.
If 2700 express delivery is doing everything and if customer chooses standard deliver then suddenly the same process takes 10, 000 rs, isn't it very strange?
Don't you think it is in-genuine to customers.
They should have mentioned the custom charges on that page so that customer can decide if i have to pay 100% extra for this or not and i am very much sure that 99% people will not buy from your website by seeing the 100% duty charges
And i believe that this is the reason that they did not mention the charges there so they can trap customers easily.
My main point is the missing information on their website should not cost 10, 500 to the customer, how such a big information can be hidden from the customer?
