In Chennai multiplexes (Satyam cinemas, Mayajaal, INOX etc.,) outside foods are not allowed. If people brings in snacks, they are not allowing the food inside. Inside the theatre complex, food items are too costly (including water) being unaffordable to ordinary people. For ex: Satyam cinemas sells Act II popcorn mini bucket for 65rs!!! If we buy outside an Act II popcorn pocket(costs 10rs) and make at home, it is 3times the size of Satyam's small bucket. This is just an example.
Food items & water are costly and they are limited. People are forced to choose among limited items for a high price.
In the multiplexes, its like an "unwritten rule" to not allow outside food. Not sure its among their terms & conditions. While booking tickets online, they only give 5 minutes to complete the entire transaction and within those 5 mts, no one can read their terms & conditions.
Government should regulate these multiplexes and make them allow people to bring food from outside. I am sure this is the thought of many people.
If there is any Govt. body where we can directly register complaint about this, please let us know. Was this information helpful? |
