Allegations
I reside in Zirakpur. On October 3, 2025, I visited the Civil Hospital, Sector 22, Chandigarh.
Upon arrival, the lights at the Card Counter were all switched off. A Security Guard instructed me to get a registration card made. Following this, the Security Guard took me to Room No. 6.
Inside Room No. 6, there was a doctor named Dr. Sankaran, who was sitting with all the lights switched off.
I brought my mother into the room in a wheelchair as she was suffering from severe body ache, vomiting, and fever. I questioned the Security Guard about the darkness in the room, but he gave no answer, appearing to be afraid of the doctor.
The doctor simply handed me a thermometer and told me to check the fever myself.
In the dark room, the doctor remained seated and wrote out a prescription for medicine. The doctor did not get up from her seat, did not examine my mother, did not even look at her face, and did not ask any questions regarding her condition.
It appeared the doctor was sleeping at night in the hospital instead of performing her duty in the emergency ward. Her entire demeanor was marked by a completely careless attitude and rude behavior.
I demand action be taken against this doctor. This is absolutely not the appropriate way to handle duty in an emergency ward, and as a doctor, she had a professional obligation to properly examine my mother. Furthermore, the doctor did not provide any instructions regarding the medicines—which ones to take, when, or how to administer them.
