Espected Sir/Madam,
I am writing to lodge a formal complaint regarding defective and potentially unsafe Coca-Cola products purchased from DMart’s NIBM branch on 5th July 2026.
The product in question was a pack of 200ml bottles (8 units). Upon opening, I observed the following defects:
Caps of irregular round shape, extremely difficult to open.
Two bottles required force using teeth, causing bending and twisting of the bottles.
Nearly all bottles lacked carbonation (“no gas inside”), inconsistent with Coca-Cola standards.
Caps and bottle shapes were inconsistent with standard Coca-Cola packaging, raising concerns of adulteration/counterfeit.
For reference, I have retained three unopened bottles and noted the following batch numbers:
L2 JJS 1309
L2 115 1109
L2 3DS 09
Photographs of the defective bottles and caps are attached.
I raised this issue with both DMart and Coca-Cola. The complaint reference numbers are:
DMart Ticket #8113900
Coca-Cola Reference #14379627
Despite this, I received no written response. A Coca-Cola representative inspected the bottles, acknowledged the complaint as genuine, and collected product details but failed to follow up as promised. DMart has not responded at all.
This situation poses serious health risks to consumers, especially children, and undermines trust in both the retailer and manufacturer.
I therefore request the Consumer Court to:
Direct DMart and Coca-Cola to investigate product authenticity and supply chain integrity.
Ensure corrective measures are taken to prevent recurrence.
Award appropriate compensation for the defective purchase and inconvenience caused.
I trust the Hon’ble Forum will treat this matter with the seriousness it deserves.
Thanks,
Varun Dhiman
