[Resolved]  Abn Amro — Credit Card

Dear Sir/ Madam, (Core Complaints)
I have sent the below mail to ABN Amro requesting them to send me a break-up of the Rs. 5971.66, that they claim I owe them. Its been over a month now and they have not replied.
I am sure they will again trouble me after 6 months.
Please advice ABN to send an NO DUES CERTIFICATE, if they are not able to send me a statement of the amount due.

Dear Sir,
1. Today (18.4.2008)i received phone call around six to seven times from Mr. Yaspal choudhary ([protected]). He said that he is in legal department(Advocate) of ABN AMRO Bank.

2. As per him i have a credit card (Card No. [protected]) of ABN AMRO Bank & Due amount of the same card is Rs. 35000/- (Rupees Thirty Five Thousand).

3. Mr. Yashpal suggested me to pay Rs. 25000/- till 3:00 PM of 18.4.2008 instead of Rs. 35000/- as a sattlement money.Other wise he will issue warrant against me.

4. But as per my knowledge i have not any credit card of ABN AMRO Bank, If have i never used the card.
5. I called to ABN AMRO Bank Customer Care No.[protected] at Luknow. They confirm that only my name is matching with card detail available with bank record.

5. I again called to another customer care No. [protected] at rajasthan. They also confirm that only my name is matching with their record, My address phone no, mob no., PAN is not matching with their records.

I request you to look in to the matter & do needful.

As I was credit card holder of ABN AMRO bank for last 3 year.
In past one year, I have made some purchase and droped my cheque against the purchase made but the due to the fault of the local collection agent, my cheque was present late. So the bank started charging late fees, other taxes, etc.

I have made purchase after that and the bank regularly started to charge late fees taxes, etc. which is now approx. Rs. 8000.
I requested various times to bank for corrections and finally discontinue servies and I cut across the card and deposited to ABN AMRO Drop box but still I am regularly listening various threats, etc.
In Dec. the banks DSa at Lucknow came to me and asked that if I give Rs. 250. then he will finally close tha account. but it could not...
Today, I have listen a threat[protected] from a person from Delhi saying that he is speaking on behalf of bank and trying to push me deposit the money. and also threatening that If i donot deposit, he will go to court and will file a case.
Please help me, As I have all communication, which I have made to ABN AMRO bank from making correction in my statements to closing my account... but all are humilitating.

I was charged an amount of Rs.15, 000 on my ABN AMRO Credit card. Once the manager visited and told me benefits of the card. Later after filling up application form I requested him to convey the message and other details before charging the amount. But nothing no statement/no correspondence was received.And finally I was charged .Now I am in no position to pay the amount. And keeping in view of the Economical Crisis all banks will take advantage and squeeze the amounts in this way from common man. All this type of banks must be banned once for all. Creating big nuisance and mental tension. It was big mistake taking ABN AMRO Credit card. Folks whoever reads this message kindly do not take ABN AMRO bank Credit card. I don't know what headache I must face.

I received a phone call from abn amro bank and they offered me to issue a credit card, i gave them all my details & send an executive to my residence to collect all the documents, my pan card, my income statement, my existing credit card copy, etc. later on i recieved a sms that ur credit card is in process & will be dispatched within 2 weeks. This happened 2 months before, & I m still awaiting to receive my credit card. I m complaining about this because same thing has happened twice, early also one person came & he collected all the data from me & since then no information from them. Kindly check with this bank, are they playing the documents.
My Credit card no. is [protected]. ABN AMRO BANK has been sending me bills of offers of 'Premier Club' and 'Air tickets coupons'. I had not accepted those offers. But still ABN AMRO CREDIT CARD employees are asking for money on telephone. Initially they had sent bills of Re8800/=. Now they have sent SMS claiming amount Re13435.91/=
I may file a case against the bank for mental torture and extortion if settlement for no additional payment from my side. I have already paid Re1200/= extra as 'late fee' for unaccepted offer.
This is in continuation of my previous complaint in which I had not specified the reason of paying ‘late fees of Re1200/=.That fee was paid by mistaking it for another payment of ICICI Lombard policy. After paying due premium on time, even when I got another late fees in statement, I was shocked to learn that the fee was for offer of ‘Premium club’ and ‘Air tickets scheme’, which I had not accepted. After that, I made full payment of all remaining premiums of my ICICI policy and in that covering letter itself, I applied for termination of business relations with ABN AMRO to that effect. I was then forcefully asked for forgetting about previously paid amount of Rs1200/= as ‘Late fee’ for unaccepted offer. I had to forget about that and I was assured by Delhi authority from ‘disputes section’ that my Rs8800 /= payment was going to be reversed. But it was not reversed. ABN AMRO BANK is trying to extract more and more money from me forcefully by applying ‘Pressurization mails tactics’.
I wonder how RESERVE BANK has allowed to charge bills for unaccepted offers and moreover, late fees on that. I have not signed any written consent to offers of 'Premier Club' and 'Air tickets coupons'. ABN AMRO DELHI employees had been repeatedly pestering me to accept offer. Telephonic offers may result into distorted or ‘wrong’ communication therefore, it should not be deemed as ‘consent for offer’. I had even refused such verbal offers many times.
I am going to expect either judicial inquiry of the bank to know how much money ABN AMRO had collected from people by using abusive language extortion technique or Re one core as a compensation for mental torture. This is because I have full right to raise doubt against ABN AMRO employees that they might have collected more than cores of Rupees from innocent people by using abusive language. ABN amro employee has used abusive language with me on telephone to extort money from me. The person could not give justification why I was supposed to pay.
British arrived in India with reason of trade and that resulted in our slavery. ABN AMRO is operating in India to collect extortion money from middle class people in the name of business which will also result in slavery of middle class people.
Immediate action is required with complete refund of my 1200 Rupees or else I will not be responsible for the damage of ABN AMRO image in news papers after my legal action. I will not be responsible of business damage of ABN AMRO because of this complaint because this complaint is being launched after loosing faith in customer’s right to refuse unacceptable offers.

ABN AMRO Bank — Asking for card payment and threaten to file a case even without using their credit card

This is Shailesh Jain. I was holding an ABN AMRO Credit Card and its expired long back (valid from 07/05 to 07/07).
Surprisingly today on 05-Mar-09 I have got the call from Mumbai (ph no.[protected].
One of executive girl was on call and she was directly saying to me is that within 2 days we are going to file a case against you because you have not paid the money to the bank.
I got totally surprised and shocked because I have not even activated and not even used the ABN AMRO credit card single time and it was expired already on 07/07 as well. Then how come ABN AMRO is asking for payment otherwise case against me.
I had never got any call from ABN AMRO bank before and suddenly one day they are calling in such manner.
I would request RBI to look over the issue and take some action against ABN AMRO executives so that consumer wouldn’t suffer from such kind of threaten call which are coming from banks.

I am in teaching profession for the last 30 years continues .Some executives came to our school to give some corporate credit cards to teachers from ABN AMRO BANK in 2005 .Earlier we thought that its a good opportunity to avail given by the bank but later on we found out that there was no outlet where we could easily deposit the maney spend by credit card .Some of the teachers returned the card without using it .I used it and then wanted to pay back the amount and i found difficulty .I made some phone calls to the main office and then they sent me an executive who made a settlement with me waving off my panelty amount .Now i have applied a loan from the other bank and they said that your cibil report is showing low rating .Yesterday i called up the ABNAMRO BANK IN MUMBAI and the officer said that there are no dues left against u as it was a settlement .I havnt bought any other credit card in my life time except only from ABNAMRO BANK.I have sent them an E mail also regarding this .My track record is very positive from where i want to avail the loan facility now.MY E MAIL ADD. [protected]. sir on my card MMT Voucher, Money saver send some voucher which I did not want and don’t received to till date, but I got a SMS on 09/07/09 12:06 PM that I have to pay Rs.6420/- as 5000/- for the voucher cost and rest is fine or late fee for voucher.

Sir I requested you to wave off this said amount Rs.6420/- which I did not received till now. If this will not happen I will take action as per law.

Hi all,

I decided to close an ABN Amro bank credit card, i have enclosed cheque amount 2557/- and along with abn amro crdit card add-on, i noticed the amount not processed more than a week, when i checked my cheque status in HDFC bank personal account that cheque got bounced.

ABN and HDFC have some mutual agreements, that might lead my cheque bounces due to signature miss match. Past few years my cheque never bounced.

Since i am not using the Master card last six month and i made request to deliver a new card, that request not handled promptly and i didnt received a new card till now.


I called customer care person, they roughly said, you should pay the Fine charges then only i will response your queries.

Note for closing crdit card: Pay all outstanding amount and then raise an alarm to close credit account request. Becarefully handle this situation, otherwise they will plan to bounce your cheque and generating some fine amounts.

Its financial meltdown, we all are aware, but bank making good Gains in this period...

i was informed by ABN AMRO bank that on my request a insurance policy was issued to me, i immediately contacted the bank that i do not need the policy, i have been getting bills asking me to pay cancellation charges and other charges.
i was informed that i had said yes to a tele caller, but my repeated calls and mails to them and the fact that the insurance policy was cancelled, seems irrelevant.
the bank wants me to pay a sum of rupees 1700+ which i have refused.
i req you to help me and take whatever action is req under laws against the bank for harassing me

I had been issued a ABN AMRO gold card last year some time which i could only twice. I used to book a movie ticket for Rs 200 and forgot to pay the bill that month and the next month i shopped for Rs 40, 000, a gold card could accomodate that. now when i received the bill for that month, there was a late payment charge for initial Rs 200 and interest on the entire amount -Rs 40200. i spoke to the customer care and she said that the late payment and interest would be waived off and i have to only pay about Rs 40, 400 inclusive of everything. but every since every month i receive the statement with the interest and late payment charges. i did call up the bank after that as well to let them know about it but that never materialized.
Now i have been harassed by calls demanding the money and talking rudely over the phone asking for money to be paid. i offered that since i wont pay the total amount which has become Rs 5000 approx. since the amount has acumulated because the bank did not waive the amount when we last spoke, i would be able to pay Rs 1000 maximum as settlement in which the person said dont want that and just kept arguring.

How do we take it up.

Hi,

This is regarding bank's claim of 25000/- Rs., which as per their records, is outstanding against me.However, I have never used the bank's credit card not even once and in fact I have destroyed the credit card long back.

Today, I have received call from Bank threatening me to settle the above mentioned amount or else face legal action. I called up their customer relationship manager Mr. Rishabh (Mobile no. [protected]) but he talked in very indecent manner.

I want raise this a complaint against the bank for mentally harassing me.

I also challenge the ABN AMRO bank, if they can provide evidence of any single transaction I did from the credit card, I am happy to pay double the amount they are asking for.
