This is regd to the mail posted by you about AJ INTERLINKS in Consumer Complaints...I am Prasanth working as a SR.Manager in this company from a long time ! today one of my member had called me and told me about this complaint given by you i was shock after reading this mail because as per my knowledge almost all our members are very happy...as you had written that you are a member of our company i asked my customer support people to verify your name in our member list they have come back saying no such customer is there with us ...

After listening to that i was again shock - two things came in my mind 1) may be you are member
2) may be you are a emloyee of Club Mahindra or Country Club

If you are a employee of country club or club mahindra i request you to remove this.. if you dont know how to remove this mail me at [protected]@aj-groups.in or call me @[protected] / 438, i will help you Dont take it easy if i am not getting a mail from you in couple of days i am going take this issue to cyber police

I have got a call on 9th Nov 2009 at Bangalore form AJ Links Pvt Limited to come to their office at Jayanagar on 10th NOv 2009to collect the prizes as i got selected by the lucky draw coupon dropped in BIG BAZAAR old madras road, bangalore that too 6-7 months back. Its nothing but cheating people in the name of GIFTS, why the hell u are calling with spouse that too on working days at 11-30 and making us to waste our precious time upto 1430 Hrs. many people has to apply leave and rush to that place with wife or Husband to get ourself cheated. You the telecaller Ms. Rekha asked to come with my wife to collect the prizes Viz. 1. free kitchen set- which normally attracts middle class ladies. 2. free stay in resorts at Goa/jaipur/delhi/Simla for 5 days for four persons worth Rs.25, 000/- 3) One Month free resort stay coupon at baneeraghatta Road Bangalore. subsequently i just surf the NET and learnt the whole episode ie. the instant RAMAYANA & MAHABHARATHA of attracting BAKRAS into their trap.

Does. they think that we are fools, if at all prizes are won what is the problem in senging them by courier- it is mere drame playing with the middle class- economics weakness. for 5 years why shoul i pay Rs.35, 000/- or 45, 000/- at a strech, keeping that amonutwith me, I can as well plan my trip suitng to my own requirements and at my free will and wish with my family members. this is rather a foolish idea to buy the holiday package- at GUN POINT- under PRESSURE - COHESSION- COMPULSION . GUYS dont fall prey to such fake company calls and cheat ur self and loose ur hard earned money- Just for nothing. Kindly send your comments on my write up. ANJANAPPA

India Today Book Club — Misrepresentation & Fraud

Dear Sir,

I would like to raise a complaint against the India Today group. Following are the facts of the case:

1. My wife had received a call from a representative of India Today Magazine stating that India Today group is offering to some select group a very interesting offer.
2. The person said that as per the offer, if I paid an amount Rs. 3,200 I would get a free stay at any of the selected hotels across India for 2 nights 3 days for 2 adults & 1 kid including breakfast & dinner. This voucher would also allow me to get free air tickets to the location free of cost.
3. I double checked the offer with the rep. & asked him to confirm if the airfare included taxes.
4. He confirmed back to me stating that the airfare was including taxes & there were no hidden charges involved.
5. I confirmed the order & was told I would get my voucher within 7 business days.
6. To my horror, on the 7th day I got a big parcel of books & CD’s with an invoice of Rs. 3,200.
7. The invoice did mention that there was a gift allocated to me for which I had to log on to their website & enter the mentioned password.
8. I was pretty disgusted, since the rep. never told me that the free gift would come with a bunch of books.
9. I tried logging in to see what this gift was but was thrown out due to incorrect login details.
10. I then tried calling the call center # that was mentioned to lodge my complaint. This was a # of New Delhi & I had to wait for atleast 25 minutes before someone answered me.
11. The person told me that my gift was not yet activated & that he would do it in couple of days. I re-confirmed that the facts that were stated to me during the offer was sold to me.
12. However, he said that the facts stated by the rep. were incorrect & that the airfare did not include taxes.
13. I informed that I was not interested in this offer & he asked me to send the books back if I wanted the refund.
14. In the meantime I had also send a couple of e-mails to their customer care & they too informed that my free gift was not activated & if I did not want the offer I was free to send the books back.
15. I sent the parcel back to the address where it came from & was even more surprised when the parcel came back to me with the reason “consignor did not accept”
16. Since then I have been writing mails to them but have not got a reply.

My concern’s here are:
1. The sales rep who called me the 1st time gave me an offer which was in no way related to what I got. He never mentioned about books to be bought!!!
2. The voucher mentioned on the invoice is not active till date
3. I needed to call the call center 3-4 times & wait for 20-25 minutes before someone spoke to me
4. The parcel that I sent was not accepted & I am being denied the refund of my money.
5. This is a clear case of fraud, misrepresentation & mental torture.

I would be obliged if you take this case up on your channel & at lease make innocent consumers wary of the fraud that the India Today group is involved in.

Please feel free if you want any other details re. the parcels/mails that I have sent to these folks.

I do not know whether to agree with the complaints or not.The system of marketing used by the company leaves lot to be desired. It is always the same case, collection of visiting cards in some shooping mall, calling the couple for a presentation, offering them 2d/3n freestay in a resort etc. This time they invited me and my wife and when we were about to come out of the offer, they presented a scheme wherby they said they would be allotting plots at reasonable rates at KODAIKANAL. Hence we parted with amount as high as Rs 1.50lacplus only to see that days passed with out any firm commitment on the regn of plot at Kodaikanal.When i persisted with my enquiries and was about to take legal recorse, they said that there are difficulties in getting plot approval at Kopdaikanal, and hence they offered alternatively plot at Sholingur. Though we were not interested, in place like Sholingur, in order to aleast protect the money already paid, we had to evince interest.A trip to Sholingur was organised(mind you, it was in my own vehicle), the plot was chosen and the registration was effected about amonth back.But till now the regd deeds have not been received and we were assured that the same will be despatched to us shortly.Since two days we have been trying to reach the company over phone and its official over his cell, but the standard auto response that the peopole are not available at the moment keeps coming.The email sent to teh company also remains unresponded.It is quite sad that the company keeps its customers in a sense of anxiety after collectingtheir hard earned money on one pretext or other.It is requested that every one who reads this mail get all the required details and assurance with commuitted ates form teh comapny before entering into any agrrement /parting money with them.

India Today Book Club — Cheating and misrepresentation by the company

The India Today Book Club is a big fraud as it misrepresents and cheats people into making purchases by assuring them lots of freebies but the freebies are never delivered and thereafter the complaints are also never answered / redressed.
I had fallen into their trap and now they are neither responding nor redressing my compalint. The details are as under :-
On 11.2.2010, I had received a call from a staff of India Today Book Club (who named himself as ANIL SHARMA, MOBILE NO. [protected]), informing me that since my earlier purchased International Holiday Vouchers were about to expire on 15.2.2010, therefore, I was being given an opportunity to purchase something else and get the price of those vouchers adjusted therein.

I was given many options to purchase, namely - Philips 17" LCD Screen, Philips Home Theatre, Kodak Digital Camera(Model No. M-380), Samsung Camera (Model ES17), Samsung Mobile Phone (Model Star 5233), Samsung Mobile Phone (Model S5560) and HTC MObile Phone (Model 3470). The caller informed that with all of these purchases, I would be getting free gifts such as Reebok Track Suits, Reebok Watch, Swatch Watch. Domestic Hoilday Vouchers with or without airtickets as well as gold jewellery ranging from Rs. 15,000/- to Rs. 35,000/-. He explained that with all other purchases, the jewellery is gold plated whereas with the HTC phone, the jewellery would be REAL GOLD worth Rs. 35,000/-. He also told that if I made two purchases, my name would be entered in a Limited Lucky Draw hwere the prizes included Laptops of Apple/Dell etc., Cash Prizes as well as Real Gold jewellery worth Rs. 70,000/-.

The caller called me thrice on my Mobile Number that day i.e. 11/2/2010 between 11.00 A.M. to 2.30 P.M. and gave detailed explanations including details of assured prizes. Therefore, I made the following two purchases on that day i.e. 11/2/2010, using my credit card on their secured tele-system, namely :-

1. HTC MObile Phone Model 3470 for Rs. 17,298/- (with 3 assured free gifts namely, Swatch Watch worth Rs. 17,000/-, Return Tickets for 2(TWO) persons anywhere in the country without any ceiling and thirdly, Pure Gold Jewellery worth Rs. 35,000/-);
2. Kodak Digital Camera Model No. M380 for rs. 9,498/- ( with 3 assured gifts namely, Rebok Wrist watch worth, Gold Plated jewellery worth Rs. 25000/-, and Holiday Package with 3 air tickets ach subject to limit of Rs. 7,000/-).

However, I have not received the Air Tickets and Gold Jewellery Vouchers for the First Purchase. I have only received the HTC Mobile P3470 and the Swatch Watch.

I have not received any item of the Second Purchase i.e. I have neither received the Kodak camera nor the free gifts.

I have been making telephonic complaints on their phone no.[protected] as well as on their two e-mail IDs namely- [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com & [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com.
But their is no response to the e-mails, and every time I call on their phone no. they simply say that the complaint is under process.
This is misrepresentation and cheating on their part.

I am sure it is a matter of time when Prasanth or anybody associated with Aj-interlinks are send to jail .

Guys they have again relaunched this scam in chennai by collecting coupons at Big bazaar counters. BE CAREFUL AND DONT FALL VICTIM OF CHEATERS.

Hi Guys,

Beware!!! The fraudsters are on the prowl again after a brief period of hibernation. I recently received a call to come to AJ Interlinks office in Jayanagar, 7th block along with my wife to collect some free gifts and holiday package. Please don't fall prey to their trick, you are sure to loose your hard earned money.

I became a member of this by paying 50, 000 Rs., and they promised me that accomodation will be free for list of resorts under RCI. And they will give me 7 days holiday per year.

Now, i sent a email to reserve a resort at Bandipur for 2 days, they are asking me to pay additional Rs. 5, 200/- when i enquired for what this extra cost is. They say that this is luxury tax, some tax, etc., . They claim that they haveinformed about this during membership signup. But, Until now no one had informed me about this tax.

I asked them for refund of money as I am not happy with this, they say that they cant refund the money for 2 years.

The Customer support is the worst I have seen. They cant speak proper English, and for any query, they will tell that they will call you back in 1 hour, and they never call back. I am sick of calling them 100 times just to hear some stupid response.
I want to get my money back.
Please let me know how can I raise a complaint against this fraud company.

India Today Book Club — Wilful Misrepresentation & Wrong Promises

Dear India Today Book Club,

Please do not give wrong and misleading statements that my complain has been resolved. You have only provided me a new voucher number. That is not the same thing as what you promised to deliver i.e a free holiday package.

With the complete lack of character that ITBC has shown so far, I am very much sure that there will continue to be obstacles in each & every step in actually redeeming the voucher.

I am certain that this is very much planned & organized racket. Only those customers who go all the way to filing a consumer complaint at each step will get the free gift. That will be, maybe one in a thousand customer and all the other 999 customers will just get fed-up and give up. That is what your business plan seems to be.

Well, ITBC....you are in for a surprise. I fully intend to go all the way till I actually receive the free gift. I will not withdraw my complain and will continue to file complain with consumer forum at each step till I finally get my right.

The above comments are true. I got a call from aj interlink saying that you are a lucky member your name is selected for the 4 days holiday trip.. i have been submitted the coupon in big bazzar last week when i was shopped they collected my phone no in that coupon and they called me to receive the gift holiday voucher. Including to that they ask me to come with my spouse to attend the presentation program arranged by their company. This is was happended on april 20th 2010.

Dont believe such cheaters...dont waste your money and precious time to spending this type of frauders.
