A name to reckon with & definitely not the ones who are doing charity if you look at their bills! As you would know for any surgery a series of tests are conducted & basis the reports a Doctor has to sign of saying ok for surgery. How does Apollo does it? My experience at DELHI Indraprastha - a signature by some doctor on duty, on a random sheet of paper, no date, no stamp, no letter head - playing it safe? Clearance given but still recommended for another test! Go ahead common man, play with your life - we are sitting here to make money, tomorrow if your surgery goes wrong you can definitely not take them to court basis a random signature! And when you tell them this is not the right process the attitude is like "walk in we will sign it for you whats the big deal", when you counter the doctor, response is "sorry I did not the right process" :-) this is what the medical fraternity has come to?

We bought some pediatric medicines in Apollo day care pharmacy attached to the hospital itself located in RA puram, chennai. MAny of the syrups they sold have expiry dates with a month. its unfortunate we noticed the dates only after returning home. These syrups are to be nutritional purpose and to be consumed 2.5ml perday and one bottle will take a span of 2-3 mnths. when we called and enquired about expiry date surprisingly they did not even take care about it and asking to consume those medicines and they do mention if anything happens to child then Appollo day care hospital is there to take care. such an idiotic reply i never expected and they want to play with lives of kids. hence beware of expiry dates for whatever they sell in appollo pharmacy as they are only just to sell medicines and the effects of expiry date medicines only we have to suffer.

My elder brother was on the verge of dying when we handed over him to Dr. Sushil Kumar Jain. And this awesome doctor saved my brothers life. My brother was in patna and was operated for kidney stones. The doctors there did a wrong operation and whole of his stomach was bisected in several parts. But with the magnificence of the Dr. Sushil Jain he was saved and now lives a happy life.

50 Sec consultation fee charge Rs.[protected]@Apollo

I am suffering with foot pain from 2 months and I went to Apollo hospital by registering in online appointment for Dr.K.J.Reddy (Orthopedics).
I have showed my printout at reception. 1 Person told go and talk with another person who is standing there. I have asked another Person, he said go and register your name at reception.
Again i asked the reception to register. I have filled my form for registration and gave it to him.
I have marked in form as "Single". But he mentioned "married".(Stupid Person - Neglegence).
Then I have paid Rs.500 consultaion Fee there.
After 1.5 hour assistant called to check with doctor.
Dr.K.J.Reddy ( Money Maker) checked my leg and said a scratch is there, please use the medicines as per mentioned. The checkup happened only 10 sec. Prescription writing 20 sec.
He gave medicines for Rs.1000 costly tablets. Nothing . Those are costly Pain killer tablets. And suggested, Please take this medicines come after 2 weeks if you have Pain.
I am taking that tablets daily. But i am not feeling well with that tablets. Still Pain. Heavy Pain.
Why these worst persons studied MBBS. For 10 sec consulting he has taken Rs.500 that to worst treatment.
He Knows the bone fracture. Why He didn't suggested for x-ray. why he has to give pain killer tablets without doing treatment. Cheating cheating cheating is the way to make money.
What he will do with money. Apollo management storing our blood as a money. Bullsit.
Worst Treatment. Dr.K.J.Reddy worst. All are money makers. money makers. BullSit. Its a pity born in India.
            Points :
            1. Online appointment not considered by them.
            2. Huge Consultation fee for treatment.
            3. Worst treatment.
4.Suggested to take costly tablets to make money.

An Indian like kamalhassan need to come and kill all these type of doctors like worst Dr. K.J. Reddy.

            Theoriginal's response
A fitting reply to those who say the Doctor took a thousand bucks for a simple procedure which lasted 5 mins.. (Actually it takes years of hard work to make it in 5 mins...) A giant ship engine failed. The ship’s owners tried one expert after another, but none of them could figure but how to fix the engine. Then they brought in an old man who had been fixing ships since he was a young. He carried a large bag of tools with him, and when he arrived, he immediately went to work. He inspected the engine very carefully, top to bottom. Two of the ship’s owners were there, watching this man, hoping he would know what to do. After looking things over, the old man reached into his bag and pulled out a small hammer. He gently tapped something. Instantly, the engine lurched into life. He carefully put his hammer away. The engine was fixed! A week later, the owners received a bill from the old man for Rupees ten thousand . “What?!” the owners exclaimed. “He hardly did anything!” So they wrote the old man a note saying, “Please send us an itemized bill.” The man sent a bill that read: Tapping with a hammer…… ……… ……. Rs. 2.00 Knowing where to tap………. ……… …… Rs. 9, 998.00 Moral: “Effort is important, but knowing where to make an effort makes all the difference!” Dedicated to all fellow Doctors!

I think you must be mental to write like this. He is internationally renowned surgeon. He operated on Sania Mirza and made her fit in 2007. I am alive and walking because of him. He is more than a god to me. He saves lot of lives. It is very disgusting to hear comments like this. Just because you paid his fee you are bitter. I know many of his patients who got better with his treatment.

For god sake don't do like this again with any doctor.
            Hello Team,

This is the worse apollo branch (Apollo- Gwalior) ever came across to me and my parents. My parents went for regular check up (as my father is in Oriental Bank of commerce and this bank is tied up for regular check ups). But very very dis-satisfactory response, no lady doctor and they paid in advance and kept waiting for 2 hours. Many machines were not even in working stage!!
Please consider this as a serious complain as my father is a senior manager of Oriental bank (Mr. Ajay Kumar Gupta) and he is very annoyed with such a way things were handled. Most probably this will lead to loss of business as well.

I wish to hear some quick response about this complain as I need answer why such lack of behaviour in hospital occured? Why no one attended my parents after they already paid full fees in advance? Why they have to wait for 2 hours without any information? Why there was no lady doctor? Why doctors were on leave and no one was bothered to be informed? Why machines were just in hospitals when that was not in working stage??

Ur father was a senior most bank manager Ajay Kumar). So What...?

When the persons arrived in bank, the bank staff and manager r respecting the peoples ..."NO", then why u thinking about Ur family & Ur's self
            Be polite Mr.Astha Gupta

May be Ur father also not respecting people, that's why u are facing this problems
Seems things are getting very personal here ... guys n gals take the things as is... comments mentioned by people here are as they are sharing their experiences when they been to the respective places... ones experiences are different from others so . better no to get into arguments plsss
All doctors which are taking more than 200 rs for consultation fees are cheaters. Always avoid those doctors. Doctors doing practice with less fees and high experience telling you the exact cause of what happened to you, should be preferred. Big hospitals are basically in dept for having a huge building created like a Hotel so they wan't to suck money from people so that they can pay their loans. These hospitals are not needed, shouldn't ever visit such sucking hospitals too.
Yaa, even I had a similar experience. The consultation of Rs.1000 was not worth paying for the lukewarm response. We waited for more than 1 hour for which the doctor was totally impatient & were having grownup nails with Dirt.

Medical field is the least regulated service & the way its becoming a rich society privilege. Having a Hotel like structure with no effective medical help is not going to take Apollo to new heights.
Most of the Doctor's(Not All very few are good 1%) are Money Maker they completed their MBBS only for money making... Friends If anyone have incurable diseases... and also from middle class or lower family background...there is no way except prying from God... :)

            INDIAN
For an overtly maintained and *luxurious* hotel...umm I mean hospital Apollo indraprastha has severe shortage of proper medical management and staff. I had a swollen lymph node from which a doctor took a sample with HIS ROOM'S GATE WIDE OPEN and I had to sit through with curious yet concerned constant stares of patients in waiting area and THEN he asked ME to take the sample to the lab LOL, hold up I'm not done telling you about the nightmare I went through that day, next might've been the ultimate vulture-esque behavior I've ever seen so I was short around 500 bucks of the total test bill of 10, 000/- so i politely requested the lab staff and at the payment counter to keep the sample in the refrigerator or at the very least in the lab where there was an ac just for 15 minutes or so before i get the money so it wouldn't spoil from the heat and so I could be spared from going through test painful procedure again but nope they didn't listen...uh first foremost I will say I really like that doctor in fact I believe he's one of the few doctors left who do actually care for their patients that day it wasn't his fault he was understaffed he should've been provided with a nurse to assist him by hospital management he do have an assistant but he's not medically trained, for the second incident I blame myself I shouldn't have gone there expecting morality and empathy like you expect from hospital staff as it isn't a hospital it's a corporate house founded with an idea of making money not helping people.

Today my father was discharged from BGS APPOLO Hospital Mysore after having a KIDNEY Operation (RIGHT KIDNEY was REMOVED). the Insurance Coordinator in the hospital sent the CLAIM amount of (64,178 INR) after removing NON MEDICAL charges from the total bill of (69059). However the approved amount was only (62,709). when checked with DHS HO CASHLESS Department, i was told that some assistant Doctor Charges and Nursing Charges were also included worth 4000 change. when checked with Hospital they claim those charges were already excluded from the total bill of (69,059). but it was still not clear why was the amount deducted for claim of (64,178). DHS Cashless department wants us to check with the Hospital and the Hospital team wants us to check with the Insurance (DHS). & my parents were asked to pay the amount of approx (8000 INR)This experience was totally unsatisfactory and NON reliable as a customer & Patient. where in we were told that NON MEDICAL charges have to be bare by us that is up to 4000. CLAIM NUMBER (DHS12Z030176). Please this have to be clarified by either APPOLO or DHS

Appollo with its branch in Sector 26 Noida offers terrible service. They are in a massive hurry to bill customers and no one has complete information. After billing they come up with all sorts of terms and conditions. The doctors are forever in a rush and if you ask them anything for beyond five minutes they won't answer and instead say that there are other patients waiting. The reception sends you to the doctors, doctors send you back to the reception then reception sends you to CM and there is no end to the harassment.

Not only doctors, their Radiologist Anu Kaushik, who seem to be frustrated with something, takes it out on her patient. On 15th Feb 2012 I had gone for Ultrasound and she refused to even look at my face and with an expression that she was being forced to do something she didn't want to do, she did my ultrasound. We patients can't expect a smile from busy doctors and technicians, but at least don't deny patient's the respect a human being deserves. When I asked her what to do next- she (without looking at me, as if she would contract disease by eye contact) told me i should consult my Gynecologist.

Fair enough she is not just a Radiologist and not in a position to advise but why the obnoxious attitude as if you are not being paid for your job or something is being forced on you. The reception, while rushing to bill me, didn't bother to ask about my gynecologist or what the package for follicuar monitoring meant, just took the money and asked me to meet Anu Kaushik.

However, i spoke to my Gynecologist who telephonically advised me to take an injection and continue with the monitoring. With a lot of effort i got the hospital to give me the injection and i was relieved. I had gone to Gynecologist in Appollo(as records would show) but they have been extremely impatient and rough. That is alright as doctors, one checks 40 patients a day, (in big hospitals and then at private clinics) but doesn't mean that you have to be rough, rude, impatient and condescending. At the least doctors should keep in mind that they have to make the patient comfortable and not terrorise them by shoving things into their private parts and not expecting the patient to even twitch! With the bill the time should also be mentioned as anything more than a minute, and the doctor gets impatient.

My agony knew no bounds, when I went back to Anu Kaushik who was as usual in an awful mood, screaming and yelling ( kindly check these allegations before dismissing, as they are true and not exaggerated) and she wanted to shove the vaginal ultrasound machine into me without wasting a second. In less than a minute she asked me leave as it was not possible for her to check me.

With due respect to your staff including doctors, please take note of the fact that you are doing well, not because you provide excellent service, but because we Indians don't mind paying for being humiliated and we are accustomed to sub standard services. You don't have a feed back system in place, as you are well aware that the day it is transparent, people may actually stop visiting your hospital. If you are honest about your 'mission' you must not allow such inhuman, sick people like Dr Anu Kaushik to continue. Do make the effort to enquire and you would know that I am not the only one whose been humiliated.

We recent visited to Apollo hospital for my father Knee replacement. Dr.Divakar reddy orthopedic specialist done surgery he used cheap quality metal for artificial knee. After 5 days of surgery they discharged from hospital. After 2 days in my home my father got heavy fever I don’t know why it’s came.I phoned to Dr. Divakar reddy for help he not responded properly. He said don’t call this is my free time.

After 2 days my father got urine infection. So we went again Apollo hospital. Dr. pavan is treatment is given. First he said your father having dengue fever we require blood platelets I gone to lab in cellar for bringing blood platelets. Lab technician call to Dr. pavan for this. Dr. said presently not required we will see later. After some time doctor pavan told dengue fever not there.

Totally after one day of joined in Hospital Doctor’s said your father was DEAD.

Finally what i say is Doctors neglected the patient and given worst treatment

So Friends Don’t Trust Apollo Hospital Secunderabad Brach.

looks like you are trying to connect unrelated things, Apollo standrads are very well know to Indian people, they will never provide any cheap material. Dr. will use the hospital proivided material.
Dengue fever can come at any time, looks like after discharge you neglected treatment, hence dengue was in advanced stage and caused the death.

It has no relation with knee surgery. pls don't mislead people with limited knowledge.
I think it is unfair to blame the doctor or the hospital wihtout discussing in detail about the reason for your father's death.

Dengue fever is known for it's notorious variation in presentation. Probably it so happened that things could be misunderstood by you.

I feel it is unreasonable way of venting out your frustration and blaming others for your father's demise.
The same has happened with my mother, and doctors named in the complaint were also treating my mother for low BP and diabetics. They said various reasons (dengue, bacterial infection, kidney failure etc ) day by day the situation worsened and on 10th day died due to negligent treatment.

Only the reception and 1st floor is well maintained bcoz OPs visit daily and other places are similar to very cheap hospitals no ventilation, no AC, no cleanliness.

What I observed during stay is they say dengue for all cases, request blood and then put on ventilator, dialysis. After a heavy payment is done they declare as dead. Totally unethical and unprofessional doctors and business.
                      the comments here are biased.
it is a fact that the Apollo hospital at Secunderabad has corrupt unethical "Doctors"

i was a victim of Dr. Soma Sekhar Reddy"s callous neglect, unscrupulous and unethical manner.
this Dr.Soma Sekhar Reddy should be punished
and Apollo Hospital should be made to pay for the torture they put me through.

the comments here are by the people, who are paid to write good things about this hospital and its Doctors.who will give justice for these atrocities done by the so called "renowned Doctors" at the Apollo Hospital at Secunderabad.
My father In-Law had urinary infection and was not able to pass the urine properly. He had prostrate issues which has to be operated through laser treatment. We have shown him to Apollo Hospital on Sunday evening around 6:30 pm, they made him join in emergency, they started taking blood and kept on antibiotic as he had high fever, they saw earlier reports and said, we will start the treatment. we waited there till 8 pm and later myself and my wife left from hospital to get the food. I got a call from Doctor in between who said, my father in law Kidneys have shutdown and he has to be sent on dialysis, it has to be done in next 6 hours and next 48 hours are critical if not he might get Heart attack. Hearing this we rush to Hospital, my father in law was already scared as the charges will be exhobirated and doctors dont give right information. I met the doctor and he apparently said what he told on phone, he also said, ask your father in law to shut his mouth and let doctors do their job. This irked us and we basis our father in law advice, asked for discharge urgently to take him through other hospital. Here starts the problem, the discharge was delayed and at around 11 pm we were given a bill of Rs. 24, 000/- change, this gave us shock as only anitboitic was given and blood test, urine test and all other test results will come the next day. we asked for reports, they said it will take 24 hrs, this triggered further questions, we asked them how did they conclude on dialysis without getting complete reports, they said one report verbally has to be told to them from Lab. We were not ready to pay such high amount as investigation charges itself were charges for about 12 thousand, after lot of discussion and in between they called security to scare us. we were polite and spoke to them decently, unfortunately they were not even able to answer or talk in English. With no other option left to get more money, we were let go as we had paid Rs.10, 000/- in advance. My question, why did the hospital further go with test when we asked for discharge, why were we charged so high and how did doctor got into conclusion with verbal report over phone, what if there is a human error, why do doctors speak so rudely when they can actually be soft and spend time to let patient and their family know about the issue with peace of mind. They have huge targets and patients, then they should hire some juniors who will explain the patient about the case, complications, talk good and give them comfort. Doctor profession, one is technical knowledge and other is the way they speak.. both are important. On a Sunday when there isnt a specialist, the duty doctor takes decision to get a patient dialysis, the problem with dialysis is once you start, you will end up doing life long.. in some cases its not. So going to this hospital costed Rs.10, 000/- per hour as per their billing. They let us go after brief discussion when they didnt have enough response, if the hospital was at right, do you think they would have let us go ? We are educated and were able to voice logically, what happens to other who cant voice, they end up using physical mode which is in raise this days. Hospital like Apollo gives jitters on pricing though their standards are not that great.

                        Address: West Bengal

I have taken my Yellow Fever Vaccination from Apollo Hospitals, Kolkata. The concerned doctor was Dr. T.K. Das (Senior Consultant Dept. of Medicine & Rheurnatology), The doctor just gave the certificate on his letter head.

While coming back from Ethiopis (Africa), I was stopped at the immigration at Mumbai Airport and was asked to shoe the yellow fever vaccination certificate. I showed the certificate given my the doctor. To my shock, they told me that this certificate is not valid and there is a proper format in which the certificate should be given.

I was kept at the airport for 4 hours and i also missed by connecting flight to Dubai. Moreover i was told that apollo hospitals are not allowed to give yellow fever vaccination. And only govt, hospitals are allowed.

If this is the case, then the doctor should have told me. When i went to the doctor for vaccination, I also exolained him that I am going to Africa for my business and i need that yellow fever vaccination. He should have told me at that time only.

After coming from Africa, I send my person to the concerned doctor again for the proper certificate> But doctor's secretary staright forward denied and told that nothing else canbe given and also asked us to do whatever we can.

Now, this vaccination can be taken only once in 10 years. And since i have taken once in 2011 i cannot take it for 10 years from any other government hospital also.

My business is in Ethiopia. So what should i do? Copy of the certificate is also enclosed.

Some stern action should be taken against the hospital as its a shere negligence in their part to give such vaccination.

As you are aware that on the of admission i was tested HBSAg NEGATIVE in Apollo hospital.
                          Proof : Blood test report
I never been to any hospital prior to this surgery for any blood tests or surgery and nor post discharge from apollo.
After discharge on 13/03/2011 for 5 weeks. Everything was normal. No pain in right side of abdomen.
On 29/04/2011 i called Dr. Sreedhar regarding mild pain on right side and radiating more towards back.
He told it could be sudden muscle spasm. I suffered from this pain for entire month May.
I took it as back pain due to daily 50 kms travel to office. I used to apply some ointments to get relief.
On Jun 06 i developed nausea, weakness, stomach pain and urine color turned yellow. On Doctors suggestion on 11 June 2011 i had liver

Test reports clearly indicated high ALT,ALP and Bilirubing levels which indicates Jaundice.

Reports are already shown to you and copy of it is handed over to Dr Yatheesh on 25 June 2011.
Today on 23 July we had meeting with you and Dr Sreedhar Reddy , Dr Deepak, Dr Rai and Dr Yathessh and other experts over this issue. Instead of focusing on infection caused you people deciated the discussion on treatment of HB and it's current status.
Now let us focus on HBC Igm as you people have mixed opinion about Anti HBC-IgM Positive test.
                          HBcAb (normal value NEGATIVE)
Antibodies against HBcAg (HBcAb) appear at about 8 weeks after infection  (they are the first detectable antibodies).
When HBcAb appears in the bloodstream the level of transaminases (AST and ALT) start to rise.
Initial antibodies response is of IgM class then, after about 2 months it switches to IgG class. Therefore we found HBcAb of
IgM class when there is a recent infection (acute phase) and HBcAb of IgG class when infection is resolved.
In chronic infection HBcAb IgM is persistently positive.
These antibodies don't neutralize HBV, but they reveal if there was an infection (they don't appear after vaccination).
                          Â
Hepatitis B core antibody (anti-HBc) is directed against the hepatitis B core antigen (HBcAg) peptides (smaller pieces of the HBcAg)
The anti-HBc is the earliest antibody to develop in response to acute hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection,
appearing predominantly as IgM anti-HBc at about 6 to 8 weeks after infection
The anti-HBc typically persists for life, but after about 6 months the total anti-HBc mainly consists of IgG anti-HBc
For patients with resolved acute HBV infection, the IgM anti-HBc is not usually detectable after 6 months.
With chronic HBV infection, the IgM anti-HBc can remain detectable at very low levels, even years after infection.
Isolated anti-HBc is defined as the presence of anti-HBc in the absence of detectable h epatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) and hepatitis B surface antibody (anti-HBs).
When routine HBV serology is requested, most laboratories report total levels of anti-HBc, which can consist of a combination of IgM and IgG antibodies.
Accordingly, providers must specifically request measurement of IgM anti-HBc if they suspect acute HBV infection
Now Let us focus on HbsAg Tests
The hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) is most frequently used to screen for the presence of this infection.
It is the first detectable viral antigen to appear during infection. However, early in an infection,
this antigen may not be present and it may be undetectable later in the infection as it is being cleared by the host.
The infectious virion contains an inner "core particle" enclosing viral genome.
The icosahedral core particle is made of 180 or 240 copies of core protein, alternatively known as hepatitis B core antigen, or HBcAg.
During this 'window' in which the host remains infected but is successfully clearing the virus,
IgM antibodies to the hepatitis B core antigen (anti-HBc IgM) is the only serological evidence of disease
Above theory no can deny as it is written and reviewed by HB experts.

Doctors in the Apollo hospital Greams road Chennai doing there own business to get rich in wealth in over night. They don't do proper proper treatment even don't check the patient simply they will prescribe some medicine and they will give a later date. They always keep in mind that how they can make a patient to visit them as more time as possible. Dr's don't bother about whether the patient condition is getting improve or not. There moto is to get more visit and consultant charges. The above example is Dr. Ratnavel dermatologist.

About Dental care in Apollo hospital with out seeing the tooth drs will tell to take the X-Ray. Because the X-Ray shop belongs to the Doctor relative. They alway considering the two way business. Once in side once in personal lab. The above dentist is Dd. Biglani dentist.

So dear costomer this thing actually happen in Apollo hospital. If you want a good treatment with in the budget think to avoid this kind of hospital a kind of money looting machine. Avoid Apollo.

I had a horrible experience with the Apollo Hospital at Bhubaneswar yesterday. I, along with my wife, decided to go for a complete health checkup and contacted the Apollo hospital at Bhubaneswar. We were asked to report at the hospital at 7am. Accordingly,we reached there 5 minutes before the scheduled time. No one was there to book our request. It was at 7.20 that some one turned up and she...

                                Respected sir,
I wish to bring to your notice the gross medical misdemenor shown to an unsuspecting patient who had approached the “Appolo Hospital”, Bhilai (Chhattisgarh) on[protected]. I am hypertensive and on medication for the past ten years. On[protected] I felt a little uneasy and went to Appolo which is located closest to my residence. My son accompanied me while my wife chose not to because it was not the first such instance. Earlier I had been to our own company’s (bhilai steel plant) hospital and small nursing homes whichever I found nearest at the moment when I felt such uneasiness. I never spent more than a couple of hours for my blood pressure coming to normal there but this was my first Appolo experience. Here I was asked to lie down and the treatment began. There was nothing new in it and I was expecting to be home in a few hours. In fact I started feeling normal and said so to the treating physicians. To my disappointment I was told that my pulse rate was as high as 127 and I could not be let go but take intensive monitoring in the ICU instead. This had never happened to me before so I believed that my hypertension had aggravated over the time. I was then asked to deposit Rs. 150 and later again Rs. 2000. I was not prepared for this and was feeling perfectly normal. I used my credit card for this eventuality and informed the TPA as well as Appolo to arrange for a cashless treatment. I was confined to the ICU where I was the only “patient” and my son and wife were both forbidden from seeing me since I was too “serious” and needed isolation. My wife and son were “counselled” to be prepared for any “eventuality” but assured that they had spoken to ICICI Lombard who would take care of my medical expenses. Like most insured persons I too had not read the policy terms. I believed everything including my “critical condition” and the “benevolent” ICICI Lombard who were more than willing and kind enough to bear my treatment. Rs. 2150 which I had deposited would be refunded to me upon my discharge, I was told. I was wheeled into the ICU whereas I was capable of hopping into it. Several samples of blood and urine were taken and my body was pierced with needles at many places. The 21 or so hours that I spent in their ICU as the lone patient were full of such painful experiences. Whenever I made a move like reaching for my glasses, one of the two staffers nearly pounced upon me reminding me that I was too “serious” to “strain” myself to such an “extent”. I was even asked to use bed pan which I refused.I was put on many machines whose names I don’t know. Outside, my kin waited in apprehension. The treating physicians always refused to shift me to the ward after glancing at the computer screen over my head and citing my pulse rate which according to them won’t go down 124. I always stole a glance to this computer screen but never found this magic number 124 which had kept me confined to the ICU bed. Until then I had never distrusted the medicos and always held them perhaps in the highest esteem. What had started unfolding now was hitherto unthinkable to me. I was perfectly normal throughout and got inkling of what was being “counselled” to my kin. They were told not to discuss the “seriousness” of my illness with me yet be prepared for “anything”. A psychiatrist was sent to me in the ICU for “counselling” me against alcohol which I don’t take more than twice a week and know very well where to stop. I was by then nearly convinced of Appolo’s motives but decided not to kick up a storm. I finally demanded my discharge irrespective of the consequences to which they informed me that ICICI Lombard would not pay if I was let go before the mandatory 24 hours of continuous hospitalization. I agreed with the rider that I be atleast taken out of this ICU. I had asked for the private room but Appolo informed me that policy provisions entitled me to Rs. 1200 semi private room not the Rs. 2100 worth private one. I was shifted to the semi private room in the afternoon. I saw the true colors of Appolo when I was billed Rs. 13000 upon my discharge. I was told that I had hyper tension pre existing to my policy and was also an “alcoholic” so no claim could be entertained. I then decided to defy the medicos for the first time in my life. I refused to pay the bill and walked out. Suddenly about half a dozen security men and women all in olive uniforms like army personnel but without the name badges appeared as if from nowhere. They surrounded us intimidatingly. The women security guards were perhaps to take care of my wife. I asked my son, a national law school graduate, to switch on the mobile camera and record the event for future evidence. On hearing this they stopped, but locked the exit gate to prevent my car. The security incharge, perhaps named george, started threatening us if we didn’t pay. On knowing that my son is an advocate they let us go but this same man, george, threatened my son again at 7-30 pm well after we were home. Mobile call details of george would substantiate my claim. He went to the extent of threating me with my dismissal from the services of bhilai steel plant where I am employed as an executive.
I request you to take effective measures to save the dignity of the medical profession and restrain Appolo from publishing newspaper ads and erecting hoardings that baffle and mislead the patients.

With lot of grief and a heavy heart I am bringing it to your notice that my child Master Advaith C. Kashyap aged 1 year and 4 months was admitted to Apollo Hospitals, Bannerghatta road, Bangalore-76 for hydrocele operation, which is a very simple procedure as per the doctors. Dr. Anand Alladi, a well known pediatraic surgen operated on the child. Dr.Thripti was the anesthetist. Initially we were assured that the procedure takes just half an hour and the child can be taken home by afternoon. On 5th January at 5.30 a.m. the child was admitted. The procedure took more than 2 hours to operate the child. After the operation the child was shifted to ICU and my wife was there with the child. The child was conscious, but distressed. Around 11-a.m. the drug Augmentine was given through I.V fluid. When this drug was administered no doctors or anesthetists were there. Only the nurse who was incharge pushed 300 m g of this medicine in to I.V. fluid, without testing dose. Afterrwords the child reactead having breathlessness and abnormal behaviour on the lap of the mother. Immediately mother was sent out and the child was put on ventilator. We do not know what happened, and when the doctors came there. Till 7 p.m. they said that they are trying their best to rescue the child, But around 7. P.m. they announced that he is no more.
Now because of his death the whole family is shattered and shocked because of medical negligence. We took a smiling, healthy and happy child and were made to take his body back home. Never take go to Apollo Hospital & Never go to Dr Anand Alladi.

Apollo Hospitals known for unethical pratices. They appoint Govt. doctors as consultants who are only part time doctors . These doctors do not work in Govt. hospital and also do not treat patient properly in pvt. hospitals . These pvt/corporate hopital are money making organizations. They do not have any ethics.DR.ANAND ALLADI WHO IS RESPOSIBLE FOR KILLING HELPLESS CHILD WORKS IN BANGALORE MEDICAL COLLEGE AS PROF. AND HEAD AND ALSO WORKS IN SEVERAL PVT.HOSPITALS DOING UNETHICAL PRACTICS. HE IS CRIMINAL AND SHOULD BE PUNISHED.
Its a shame that in an era of medical science scaling such great heights, innocent lives are lost for such simple ailments due to negligence on the part of hospitals.Had the staff been a bit dedicated and concerned, Advaith would have been with us.
Antibiotics have published and statistically known side-effects in the population.
The fact that not one doctor was present when the whole antibiotics were given to a baby shows the amount of careless, casual attitude Alladi and his team work with. This is such a horrible tragedy and could have been prevented with something like a stethoscope in a hospital.
Alladi hasn't monitored the child after surgery in the recovery while giving a potentially reactive drug... he sent a nurse! That is literally poisoning and he should never be allowed to work and should pay for this incompetent, irresponsible act.
                                  Anand Alladi Paediatric MURDERER.
                                  Apollo Hospitals Bangalore.
                                  Stay away from this Doctor.
Words are not enough to describe what the child's parents/grand parents and family are going through. It is not easy to accept that--"we took a smiling, healthy and happy child and were made to take his body back home". The whole family is shattered and shocked because of medical negligence.

Could this have been avoided? Answer is "yes". If only they had tested the reaction to the antibiotic Augmentine and its dosage was closeley monitored. These are the most fundamental steps in the recovery process. This shows total negligence of the doctor, the hospital procedures and the entire team.

In a land of Dharma, it is only proper they all come forward without any further coaxing and admit as to what really happened and clearly explain what procedres are being adopted to prevent similar occurences.
That way these parents and family can derive at least some consolation that justice is being done and other parents do not have to go through these.

We pray to give strength to the parents and family of the bereaved and justice to prevail.
I agree - Alladi should step up and take responsibility.

Please note that he is also a consultant at Cradle hospital in Bangalore. Please stay away from him.
It is unfortunate that, even with credentials like AIIMS, Anand Alladi is incompetent and treats babies like parts in an assembly line.
These days doctors are after money. For the sake of money, they do not mind killing the innocent babies and keep the parents away and do not provide any information. Can he give the life of this baby who is precious for his family? The justice system should punish such doctors.
A good example of a doctor who thinks about money over the basic ethics of treating a patient who comes with a need to be TREATED for a disease.
It is very sad that we get to read in newspapers and articles that India has made progress in the delivery of Health care services. But in ground reality we stand no where . All o[censored]s need to raise our voice against Dr. Anand Alladi. "why, Dr. Alladi...u cud'nt save the baby. Why is that, not even a single doctor in Apollo hospital have the necessary art of knowledge to save this baby. Can u Dr. Alladi bring back the smile on the face of family of Murthy's ."
If the child has been administered a wrong medicine or a wrong dose it is totally the fault of the hospital which appoints the nurse. Dr Alladi would have had no say in the appointment of the nurse. Any one who knows the functioning of a hospital knows that it is impossible for any senior doctor to supervise the administeration of each and every drug. If Dr Alladi has prescribed the right dose ( which I believe he would have) and despite this a wrong dose has been administered then there is practically nothing he can do about it. It is totally the fault of the hospital to not have put checks in place to avoid mistakes or they have appointed an incompetent nurse
Your child is gone.BUT WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO PUNISH SUCH DOCTORS AND HOSPITAL AUTHORITIES. SUE THEM !!! NEVER ENTER INTO ANY COMPROMISE .LET THE LAW PUT THEM IN JAIL .LET THE WHOLE WORLD KNOW ITS CONSEQUENCES
Now a days we dont see any difference b/w the real murderers and the doctors
So sorry to know about this tragedy - But I pose two questions :

                                  1) why did the child need surgery - for inguinal hernia or some other medical concern.

Hydroceles in young boys ususlly does not need surgery.

                                  2) Either of the above surgeries are clean surgeries and usually do not warrant antibiotic use and definiely not IV use - so why did ther child get IV antibiotics.

so, they need to get more info . and sequence of events that happened.

                                  MG
Its very disheartening to know that even such educated doctors who are top surgeons play with the lives just like that.. They are so inhumane by their attitude.. Had the parents and the family been completely informed about what were supposed to be done..The precious life of the kid would hve been saved. Those responsible should be sued to death. They should know what is the true pain of the people and the family who are suffering because of those near and dear ones who lost lives coz of MEDICAL NEGLIGENCE as per what the doctors or so called murderers have to say.. They all should be thought a lesson in life so as to not commit such mistakes which can not be repaired...
Having met the child recently... I was very happy for their family.
It's shame to the hospital officials of such good credentials. I wish that more publicity & awareness should made towards such incidents in order to educate & avoid such disasters in the future . We live with medical tourisim & other advancement towards health care, we are here to fully support you to bring justice to the family. We understand through this incident how presious everyone's life is & the doctors in who's hands we are lying our lives are being negligent & thoughtless...Is the ETHICS Committee sleeping at such a well known hospital...
It is really unfortunate that a very small child of 1 year was taken for a surgery and the doctors actually killed the child because of negligence. They should feel the pain of the family members by loosing a precious child. The doctors also should experience such a pain. They should be taught a lesson. Our law is very weak and doctors escape from all kinds of crime. but God will teach them a lesson
Dr.Anand Alladi should be punished for Medical negligence, some times i feel Sharia law suites best for this country.
I agree, my experience is similar but at Apollo hospital in Goa. The in charge was Dr. Rajesh Javherani, this individual is completely driven by MONEY and life of his patient is a secondary concern for him.
These days all hospitals are becoming hell instead of treating the patients with care, negligence is becoming very common. How common people can survive in this world?. Corporate hospitals are blood suckers.
Such doctors should be hanged to death...
I everyday pray fervently to GOD, to bless and take care of every child of earth.
I take this opportunity to express my grief for the parents.
Dr- Alladi, son of , he should be hanged in a road with that nurse who gave high dossage.
My deep condolences for the bereaved family.
There is desperate need for Apollo Hospital and other hospitals to introspect and bring in necessary steps to prevent such disasters recurring. Apollo hospitals is supposedly a ISO and other certified hospitals, like any other certified It company, if the certification is just granted over period of a two/three day audit, It is like any other IT company getting certified by preparing just one week before the audit. None of these guys have ever understood and imbibed the true lessons taught by the certifications.
I think there is a need for more comprehensive way to certify a Hospital. Hospitals generally today are more Business houses and Certifications are more a business necessity. I also understand that Doctors are mere pawns in the game of business played by Hospital Management teams like any other business. The business motive behind todays successful hospitals is even more dangerous than even the mining business going all over the country. Today its Dr. Anand and tomorrow it will be somebody else.
The difference I see between todays commercial hospitals and charitable institutions like CMC Vellore is incomparable. CMC Vellore is built on ethical values and empathy while commercial hospitals are built on opportunities and profit making aspirations.
The reason that makes me think this way is that I have personally interacted with Dr. Anand Alladi in Apollo hospital Bangalore for a minor surgery to my son and my nephew in another case.
I am shocked and surprised by this news though as I had seen Dr. Anand Alladi being extremely careful in handling the kids (my nephew was only 3 years old).
My deepest sympathies to the parents of Master Advaith Kashyap. There is no greater hardship than loosing ones child. We hope and pray that God gives you immense strength and help you see meaning in Master Advaith's short but beautiful life. God recalls the ones dearest to Him the soonest.

My own experience with Dr. Alladi has been very positive and I would be remiss not to present that side of the story. An infant in our native village had a life threatening kidney infection. Dr. Alladi had to perform multiple procedures in order to save the infant's life. He even went out of the way in procuring certain equipment not available in Vani Vilas Hospital in order to help the infant. He was kind, caring and skillful. He was not motivated by money and was not paid anything by the poor village folk. However he did get his reward in seeing the infant grow into a happy robust toddler.

From what I know about the facts involving Master Advaith, I do not see Dr. Alladi as being negligent. It is impossible for doctors to be at the bedside of patients throughout the post op course. There are many other patient's who are counting on the doctor's talents and demand his or her time and attention. That is where the hospital and their trained paramedical team including nurses come in. The hospital should have checks and balances to prevent medication errors and the personnel and equipment to deal with complications from side effects of medications for they are bound to happen. If there is any failing that cost the precious life of Master Advaith, it is lies with the hospital. They should learn from this sad experience and improve their processes so that lives are saved in the future. That would be a great tribute to Master Advaith's life.

My only intention in writing this comment is not to defend anyone but to give truth and fairness a chance. My prayers to Master Advaith and his parents and extended family.
The doctors take oath while taking degree and forget the moment they become famous. They are after money. If such a death or reaction of the drug to a very small kid of his own or his kith and kins, will he leave the child like that and go to his job where he is employed? The wearer knows the shoe bite. He does not even think how the family is suffering. No one can understand the pain they are undergoing. He is inhuman. he might have done many surgeries successfully. Some one told that for one child he is being punished. That one child is precious to his parents and grand parents. He has given happiness by his play activities and baby talk and cute behaviour, in their life at the age of one year and four months. Suddenly this man takes away the child's life. Do you like it? Is it not his responsibility to give the child back safe to the parents? Then why did he assured the parents before surgery? After all it is a simple procedure of 15-20 minutes. Child did not have any illness or heart problem or any other disease to lose his life. He has neglected his responsibility. God should punish him.
I have few questions for the hospital and the doctor -

Why was ICU not monitored by the anaesthetist ?
Why there is no protocol to treat or manage anaphylaxis ?
Why do they put anybody on ventilator when they know they are already dead and bill them ?
Why was the wrong dose adminstered ? What was the problem in communication ?
Our people should learn to ask more questions like - Is the surgery obsolutely necessary or not ?

Doctor working in a Private hospital when he is not supposed to and a baby dying of anaphylaxis should be investigated as seperate incidents.
I can not begin to imagine the pain, parents of Advaith are going through. Only time will heal and give them some comfort over the years. I would like people to know that blaming a doctor, in this case Dr Alladi and calling him a monster will not help anybody in the future. No surgeon can nurse the patient during his/her post operative period. Every surgery carries complications which nobody can foresee. ICU should have basic facilities and always covered by a skilled anaesthetist. Every ward should have protocols as to how to deal with an emergency. Childrens ward should have a list of medicine doses and a nurse should have access to them if in doubt. Nurses should have the right to question the doctor if she is not happy with the management as in westeren countries. Duty of care applies to both private and state hospitals.
Why do we just accept whatever the doctor says? Patients shoud get the explanation, involved in management plan and allowed to ask questions?. In this day of electronic age, one can research and find out more about medical conditions. Unless people's knowledge in health and consumerism in healthcare imporves, these things do happen. I this case the responsibilty seems to lie with the hospital and not the doctor.
Sorry for the family. My advise as a medical person is never go to such corporate hospitals, they are more or less like luxury hotels which gives every service, but lacks the basic thing-medical exellence. Those doctors who join this kind of organisation come there for money sake.In my experience I have seen far better doctors in small hospitals.
This is w.r.t Sarjapur road Apollo clinic, i chose this clinic coz of the name since i felt i could trust the doctors there. I had severe throat pain with high fever and i could self diagnose that i had tonsil issue. Since no ENT was available and i could hardly sit, i went for a general physician - Mrs Kranti, she put me on Azithral and my fever went off but on 7th i started having very severe throat and ear infection and i took a peek into my throat only to realize its a follicular tonsil. Myself being a software engineer with no Dr. degree i could make out Azithral wont help since My daughter had the same problem and she was put on augmentin. I had to wait till Monday to see an ENT, the ENT (from a different clinic, GOD knows i will never step into an Apollo clinic ever again) confirmed that its follicular and Azithral wont help. Fact is even a software engineer knows that Azithral will kill fever but not necessarily the cause. Having said all this i seriously doubt if the doctors in the Apollo clinic are actually doctors. Even for such and apparent and simple problem nor was it diagnosed properly, putting me on azithral worsened it for me. I am thinking what would be the fate of innocent people who walk into such clinics for pregnancy/ any life critical treatments. I seriously think the doctors there have fake certificates.
Thank god i googled about the hospital before taking my son, 1yr 3 months there. If something goes wrong suing or crying cannot get us what we lost... And suing in this country where laws take the side affluent and rich... what justice can one expect... Its a shame when a hospital like Apollo fails to deliver when they charge such heavy amounts for treatments. After all with this high charges they levy can they not afford their own doctors?????? Can anyone tell me where should i take my son for inguinal hernia surgery.
Yes, he should be brought to justice. He adminis
tered renal scan twice for mild hydronephrosis. God !! he said the risk is minimum than x-rays.
Somebody has written that he would have prescribed the right dosage and the nurse would have given a wrong one ! I am sure this comment has come from the blood thirsty animal anand alladi himself or from his family members. This guy has a special taste for childrens blood, god !! why dont you take his away?????

I have seen this guy interacting with nurses and confirming things, or nurses taking his confirmation before giving anything, this doctor is a

                                  Bangalore, Sep 25, DHNS:
Medical Education Minister S A Ramdas is in the process of sending a suspension order to the department principal secretary over the case of medical negligence caused by a doctor from Vani Vilas Hospital in his private practice during duty hours. Ramdas said he was would send the order to the principal secretary on Monday.
Meanwhile, Dr O S Siddappa, who had sent a notice to Dr Anand Alladi for his response to the accusation a week ago, said that he has received a reply from Dr Alladi, which he has to submit to the government.

In January this year, a child died after a surgery conducted by Dr Alladi in Apollo Hospital. Dr Alladi is on the payrolls of Vani Vilas Hospital and performed the operation during duty hours.

After trying with many authorities to get the doctor to pay for the negligence, the child’s grandparents – Dr Narasimha Murthy and his wife – approached Ramdas and gave a written complaint in June.

Following this, the minister ordered an inquiry into the matter and the inquiry report recommended that a criminal complaint be registered against the doctor at the jurisdictional police station.

The complaint has been filed in Wilson Garden police station. It also recommended that compensation for the death should be borne by the doctor. The inquiry report also stated that the attendance report had been tampered with and that the doctor had given a leave letter without getting authorisation from the medical superintendent.
Apollo hospital, Bangalore is a [censored] up place… money minded doctors, money minded management. They don't care for anything except money and unwanted tests. No progress, no status, no moral support. No one cares if the patient wants something like food or anything. Irresponsible staff. No response or care or respect for the attendees. Slow and late treatments purposefully to add up the bills. They [censored] up with the final bills, adding unwanted, irrelevant medicines, tests etc. Even if some1 has already paid fee for a test, the same test would have been added again in the final bill. So its cheating from day 1 to the billing session. Please be careful guys. Had a pathetic, unpleasant, "never returning to Apollo" experience.

Referring to my file no AC01.1803616 of Apollo hospital of greams lane,Chennai-600006,i would like to state that Dr.Narayan Reddy had adviced me to take a penile doppler test for which an amount of rs 2330
was paid by your bill no ALD317150 on dated 06 jan 2011.
After completing the said test,I was handed over a slip asking me to again pay profession fees(charge)of rs 1000.
I failed to understand why this profession charges was taken from
me.Since, this should be included in the test fees.
Even last time when i did this same test i had paid the test fees of rs 2300 only and no professional fees was taken from me.

                                      Address: West Bengal

My father Lt.Dr. Kaustubh Chatterjee was a reputed physician practising for over 45 years at Sodpur in north suburban Kolkata region . His patients mostly belonged to middle class and poor people. As he was suffering from fever we had admitted him to Apollo Hospitals, Kolkata on 15th Oct,2010 . He was diagonsed with Pyogenic Meningitis. Treatment started with all the latest anti-biotics which were all exhorbitantly costly . Pharmacy bill per day was touching almost Rs.35,000/-. Soon he responded fairly well to treatment and was getting much better . after 4/5 days his condition started to again get worse . Doctors said he had contacted diarohhea from intake of hospital milk etc. Then he contacted some hospital acquired Acenatobactor infection . Never have heard name of such infection . Doctors said it was some type of deadly infection . Haven't been able to make out till this day how a patient staying inside ICU of one of the most reputed hospitals in town can acquire such deadly infection .During my father's stay at the hospital I have observed certain things
                                      a) adequate precaution is not taken while allowing visitors inside ICU - visitors walk in with outside shoes and everything
                                      b) the nursing staff even inside ICU are mostly very young Malayali girls- mostly inexperienced trainee nurses who hardly can understand or talk in English or Hindi . Neither do they understand what is being spoken to them nor can we follow what they try to say . I am not too sure how ICU patients would communicate their inconvenience etc with them .
                                      c) the no. of nurses attending critically ill patients in ICU is highly inadequate .
At night hours only 5/6 such young inexperienced nurses are in charge of 13/14 highly critical patients .
                                      d) Between 11 pm at night and 6 am in morning there are absolutely no doctors or RMO present in the ICU . They are away in their rooms and if any eventuality happens which may need attention within minutes - only God would be there to help the patients .
                                      e) Doctors do not discuss the condition of patient adequately with the patient party. specially the doctor Narayan Banerjee who is the senior Medical expert feels very bothered when even my mother (who herself is a doctor ) asked details about my father's condition .The doctors prescribe any medicine they feel like . As many no. of the costliest anti-biotic available they prescribe at the same time - least bothered about either drug interaction or expense of the patient party . Unholy collusion with medicine companies seem to be very apparent from such wreckless prescription of such doctors.
Coming back to my father's case , he again survived the Acenatobactor infection and severe diarohhea and was getting substantially better when Dr. Narayan Banerjee, who he was in charge, decided to take him out of the Apollo Hospital and shift my father to his personal nursing home . All o[censored]s had objected and my mother held back the transfer for a day also but he kept on insisting that it would be for good of the patient . Within 36 hours of transfer to the private nursing home of the doctor, the patient's condition worsened to a degree that his B.P was 60/40 and he was suffering renal failure and multi organ failure symptoms . He was at the brink of death and the doctor Dr. Narayan Banerjee was trying to flee the place and shirk responsibility . But we didn't allow that to happen . My father was again shifted back to Apollo Hospital on 29.10.2010 afternoon and by late evening his condition has stabilised substantially . Dr Narayan Banerjee was nowhere to be seen . We tried to contact on his mobile several times but he didn't take the calls .Only in late evening he showed up and said he didn't believe his eyes that the patient was still alive . I haven't been able to make out to this day whether he was planning some sort of ill-gotten murder for my father , having taken him to his own bogus nursing home where the nursing staff was no better than maid servants . Over days my father's condition again improved substantially . On 06.11.2010 evening the doctors and nurses said his condition was absolutely stable - all parameters normal. At night around 10.30, I again called up the ICU - the doctor said the same . At 7.15am on 07.11.2010 the doctor Narayan Banerjee calls my sister on mobile and says my father has expired in morning and that he is on his way to the hospital . Almost 5 contact nos. had been provided to the hospital authorities . There was no intimation on any number from the hospital staff that my father's condition has got critical or he has expired . When we rushed to the hospital immediately, that Dr. Narayan Banerjee was nowhere to be seen . He had just 20/25 minutes previously said that he was on his way to the hospital . The RMO said that my father had suffered cardiac arrest at 6.15 am and inspite of all their efforts he could not be saved I ask a question : MY FATHER WAS INSIDE INTENSIVE CARE UNIT of APOLLO HOSPITAL WHERE OTHER EXPENSES APART ,MERE BED CHARES ARE Rs.7,150/- PER DAY - WHY HIS CARDIAC ARREST COULD NOT BE TREATED . WAS IT BECAUSE MOST PROBABLY THE DOCTORS WERE SLEEPING AT THAT TIME AND MY FATHER WAS ATTENTED TO AFTER A WHILE WHEN ALREADY IRREVERSIBLE LOSS HAS BEEN DONE TO HIS SYSTEM ? As far as I know procedures need to be started within 2/3 mins of Cardiac arrest . Most probably calling the doctor and time taken for procedures to be started had taken 10 mins and by that time my father must have collapsed . NO INTIMATION TO THE PATIENT PARTY WAS GIVEN BY THE HOSPITAL STAFF OR ADMINISTRATION ABOUT THE CONDITION DETERIORATION OR DEATH OF THE PATIENT WHO HIMSELF WAS A REPUTED PHYSICIAN . IN THE 2nd PHASE WHEN HE WAS ADMITTED TO APOLLO , PHARMACY BILLING TOUCHED AN ASTOUNDING RS.65,000/- per DAY with DAILY BILLING CROSSING Rs.75,000/- per day . EVEN AFTER SPENDING ALMOST Rs.10 LAKH, APOLLO HOSPITAL CHURNED OUT A DEAD BODY OF A REPUTED PHYSICIAN . THIS IS NOT A ONE OFF CASE . THIS IS THE USUAL SCENARIO IN THIS SO-CALLED REPUTED HOSPITALS. PEOPLE SHRIEK AT THE STATE OF HEALTH CARE IN HOSPITALS AND NURSING HOMES IN WEST BENGAL . IT WAS SAID ABOUT POLICE - " DACOITS IN UNIFORM " - what exactly can be said about these cheats who are playing with lives of hapless millions.

                                      Complaint marked as Resolved
Apollo Hospital customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
Why dont you go to bangladesh and get treated ...
Agree with you entirely. The doctors at Apollo Gleneagles Kolkata play god and do not think it necessary to give details to families of patients. The entire hospital, it seems, is composed of trainee nurses and attendants who can barely understand a word of Hindi / English (do not even think of Bengali). The administrators' approach is purely to cover up all misdeeds of internal staff. They have killed by father and are doing their desperate best (and very efficiently) to cover up. I fail to understand how these killers go about their daily lives with so much blood on their hands. I hope your complaint & my response (+ experience of other families they have destroyed) will reach the crowds who come to this slaughter house every day hoping for a cure.
                                      Dear Dada,
Really it is very sad news about the death of your Physician father. I am commenting from kuwait, the Dr Of Apollo Hostial and other nursing home in Kolkata all are same, their attitude is only "EARN MONEY" Not for the serve of people. Remember we can not judge but the Justice of our head he will give pure judgement before his death. He will suffer, Himself" or his family member they will suffer, No money can help them. We all are help less infront of the saidDoctor, but Nature take his revenge naturally.
                                      Thanks.

                                      Dear Anirban,

I am extremely saddened by the incident that happened to you. Also I whole heartedly protest against the poor quality of service the hospitals are providing here at Kolkata but I beg your pardon to differ only in one of your comments on Dr Banerjee. I know him for last approx 16 / 17 years and have seen him in his profession doing lot of miracles. I have seen him curing innumerous critical cases and bringing stability to patients. In north of Kolkata, he is worshipped like a God and he has done justice to his profession for years. I once again stay by your side at this loss of yours but at the same time would like to say that as far as I know Dr Banerjee, he must have tried all that was possible from his end before giving up. Take it from me and I am extremely honest in my comment. -[protected]
                                      Dear Mr. Chatterjee,
It's very a sad incident. The owner of these hospitals should be punished for such negligencies. Drs. should use the generic names of the prescribed medicines along with the diagnosis. Adequate measure is very much required from the government to tackle these negligencies and recklessness.
                                      Thanks & regards,
                                      Somen Choudhury
My mother Late Helena pal also died o[censored]nknown reason on 04.11.12 under Dr. Narayan Banerjee at Zenith Hospital, Belgharia, Kolkata. Dr. Banerjee could not diagnose despite end no. of tests. She was admitted due to nausea, weakness & irregular bowel movement. Dr. banerjee is nowadays only a money maker & having no commitment. on 3rd afternoon, Dr.told me that my mother would die with in one month but she died just after 12 hrs.

There are few people engaged by Dr. himself who have been continuously advertising his skill & competency but it is not so.

Please never make this mistake to admit your dear one under Dr. Narayan Banerjee otherwise you will have the same fate.

Every case is different.I have an altogether different experience.I suffered from parapneumonic pleural effusion and got admitted to Apollo under Dr.N.Banerjee.I found him extremely sincere and he was very much polite to my family members.I live in north Kolkata and in our areas there are hundreds of people who are completely satisfied with the treatment offered by Dr.Banerjee.My relatives also regularly consult Dr.Banerjee for their ailments and he is very much polite to them and reasonably well mannered. So I have very regards for Dr.Banerjee.
I don't have much experiences regarding Apollo hosp but i have a clear idea and experience about DR N.Banerjee's medical skill and expertise. There r so many examples regarding Dr. Banerjee's miracles in field of medicine, but apart from those i just want to specify his devotion to the patients and to the subject. As per as my personal experiences i know that DR.N. Banerjee used to spend sufficient time to explain the nature..prognosis and gravity of the disease to the patient's relatives and moreover he also used to explain the whole scenario regarding the expenditure of the total treatment procedure. All i want to say all this while that DR N.Banerjee is supposed to be one of the best physician and human being i have ever seen.
It is extremely shocking about death of your father. In the field of medicine Dr. Banerjee is known one of the best doctor in kolkata. One of my relative was admitted under dr. Banaerjee few months ago with critical condition. With guidance and treatment of dr. Banerjee he is well now.
I have all the respects for Dr. Narayan Banerjee and his team of dedicated Medical Officers.

I admitted my relative Late Mr. Debprasad Ghosh under his care in a nursing home at Sinthee, north Kolkata about a year ago.He was suffering from bleeding with caugh and sputum for last six months onwards. He consulted some of the leading chest physicians in Kolkata and was diagnosed as a case of Lung Tuberculosis and was prescribed some routine anti tubercular drugs.Inspite of taking the medicines regularly situations worsened progressively.

At the very first day Dr. Banerjee examined the patient clinically and briefed the case to us.He explained that he hardly believed this as a case of TB. He suspected something more dangerous, may be some form ofLung cancers.Like other family members at the very first day I could not believe.

Routine blood investigations, chest Xray, CT scan of chest done in the subsequent days and Bronchoscopy followed with guided biopsy.

After few days we got the biopsy report, suggestive of a fatal form of Lung Cancer-"non small cell variety". After that he was treated in some leading oncology units in Kolkata. He survived some six months more with lots of chemotherapies, radiotherapies and not the least with excruciating cancer pains.

We all knew the outcome in well advance. It was not curable. Our only consolation is that Dr.Banerjee made the diagnosis correctly and tried his level best.

People know Dr.Narayan Banerjee as "Bidhan Roy" of north Kolkata.I can't compare like that. But the incidence makes me believe that he is one of the finest clinicians in his era. We are grateful to him and his efficient team forever.
It is difficult to find a good GP like Dr.Narayan Banerjee in the northern part of Kolkata and most of his patients, as I know, are well satisfied with his treatment. The only problem with him is to get an appointment to consult him unless one is critical and admitted under him in any hospital with which he is attached to.
I want an appointment with Dr Narayan Banerjee for treatment regarding total abdomen
When Dr N Banerjee started his career he indeed had some degree of dedication . When Dr Banerjee started his practise in Sinthee area, my father Lt. Dr. Kaustubh Chatterjee of Sodpur was one of his most close acquaintances and my father ( who was a GP practising for almost 45 years in Sodpur area ) sent his own patients regularly to him for advanced reviews - they had most cordial relations and my father staunchly believed in supporting young up-coming doctors of the area . Dr. Banerjee has personally mentioned to me in front of his colleagues and other hospital staff that he had most high esteem about my father . I knew and sort of believed his word of mouth and so when my father fell ill, I reached out for help to no other than Dr.Banerjee despite having close acquaintances with lots of other most senior physicians in town, some of whom were my father's class-fellows or peers . I had handed over my ailing father to Dr Banerjee with full faith and entrusted him with full liberty to treat him to the best of his ability and do whatever he thought best for the patient and get whatever further advise he needed from other senior physicians, without bothering about financial matters . But the ordeal my father underwent for almost 23 days brought to light only one fact - Dr Banerjee has become another of the Money Making Machines that doctors of this city has gained a ill - repute for in the past couple of decades . Since opening Zenith Hospital at Belghoria he has become a full fledged business tycoon and his Oath of Hippocrates has indeed taken a backseat in his life . And please give a break - please don't utter Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy's name out of context without having least knowledge about what the Man was about - I staunchly believe that God Almighty has on principle stopped creating such souls for good . The world today is much too murky and filthy for such people to be born - this is an age of glory and greatness being thrust upon average people against pure monetary considerations .

                                      Dear Mr Chatterjee,
Sad to know about your fathers demise.I feel we should not be blaming doctors for every misfortune that occurs while treatment of a patient.Every doctor's intention is to use his knowledge and skill to the best of his/her ability for the patients benefit.I totally agree that the treatment nowadays is quite expensive . I know Dr N Banerjee for the last 7 years and I can say he is one of the best physicians around.
He knows his patients very well and gives adequate time while treating them. The sheer dedication and hard work he puts in every day for so many years is commendable.
I know Dr Narayan Banerjee for last 10 years. He is one of the best medicine consultant in North Kolkata.I salute him for his dedication and knowledge.he is not only a great doctor but also a man with a golden heart.he has saved millions of lives in his career.

is very sad to know about your father’s demise.

                                      Most doctors
do their utmost for their patients, but there may be a time when you are
unhappy with the care you receive from a medical practitioner. If this
                                      happens-

                                      Talk to your doctor about
                                      1. why you are unhappy with the care or advice you have received. They should
be willing to discuss any concerns you have.
                                      2. You may prefer to discuss
your concerns with another doctor in the practice or the practice manager.

                                      But,
I would like to write and say thank to Zenith Super specialist Hospital for
having an amazing team of staff you have on your ICU unit and their devotion to
the patients and in particular my thanks go to Dr Narayan Banerjee . He is like
a God to us and he has done justice to his profession for years. We have seen
him in his profession curing many many critical cases and bringing stability to
patients. That’s why I admit my uncle under him.

                                      In
January 2014, I noticed some worrying symptoms of my uncle and I initially admitted
him to a local nursing home. He was diagnosed there as he had suffered a
stroke. It was two days before someone finally listened to my concerns, and then
my uncle was transferred to Zenith Super specialist Hospital, where my
suspicions were confirmed that he had suffered a stroke. On the day of
admission Dr. Narayan Banerjee came within 15 mins. He actively listened to my
uncle’s symptoms, he showed a tremendous amount of empathy and compassion for
what had happened to my uncle. He did not rush him; he put him at ease when he
was feeling very vulnerable. During the examination He was so gentle, but at
the same time very thorough, ensuring that nothing was missed. He briefed the
case to us so easily understandable, taking all our questions for about 30
                                      mins.
The care this doctor showed is how all doctors should be. He truly is a role
model for patient care and a hell of a lot of far more senior doctors could
learn a great deal from Him.

                                      My
uncle stayed another five nights on ICU ward and he was soon pretty much back
to normal. Nothing was ever too much when you asked for something, and the staff,
Medical Officers took time to chat with him and explain things to us even at 2-3
am at the night. Dr Narayan Banerjee even rang me at work to discuss my Uncle’s
aftercare for when he was to be discharged.

                                      As
we unable to pay full bill amount due to financial constrain, we talked with
Dr.Banerjee- amazingly he approved 15 % discount instantly on total bill with
compassion, without neglect or dispraise us. He is such a good hearted human
                                      being.

                                      We
had such a pleasant experience at Zenith Super specialist Hospital, and my uncle
also said the food was pretty good too. Having recently been discharged
from Dr Banerjee’s care as my uncle has made a full recovery I thought it was
only right that we should acknowledge our appreciation of this fantastic team
                                      of staff.

                                      People
are very quick to report on the negatives of the hospital and doctors but for
us on this occasion it was fantastic service and we are very grateful for this.
If we ever find ourselves in a similar situation where we are given the option
of which hospital, we will of course stick with the good old Zenith Super
specialist Hospital, please keep up the good work.
It is not possible for any physician to save all the patients. Then Tatas and Birlas would not have died.

I totally disagree that Dr. Banerjee only sees patient for money making. He has possibly the most professional and honest approach to his patients. It seems that the guy is quiet jealous to Dr.Banerjee's fame and reputation.Pssibly he thought that the doctor will cure all the patients with his healing touch without taking any fees like Bhagaban Buddha or Sri Ramachandra.

My dear guy, Medical profession is the taughest and most complicated of sciences that human beings apply. Here 2+3 may not always be 5.Doctors only try their level best but the outcomes are not in his control even at the expences of lakhs of rupees.

Better we should try to respect this profession and the professionals.at least this is expected from those who are from a medico family. If the outcome of the deceased would have been otherwise then the same person would call Dr. Banerjee as Bidhan Roy of this era.

                                      It
is very sad to know about your father’s demise.

                                      Most doctors
do their utmost for their patients, but there may be a time when you are
unhappy with the care you receive from a medical practitioner. If this
                                      happens-

                                      Talk to your doctor about
why you are unhappy with the care or advice you have received. They should
be willing to discuss any concerns you have.

It's critical that those, written positively and negatively about Dr. Narayan Banerjee, should disclose their full names, addresses and contact phone numbers so that they can be contacted to verify their comments/critique, which they posted on-line. Accurate information sharing is very important to make any and every doctor in Kolkata / WB accountable for their professional standard, commitment, transparency, and achievements. Proper information sharing can lead to improvement of any health system, including in WB.
My father Sridhar Kumar Chowdhury was admitted on 18/09/2014
for closure of Tracheostomy under Dr. Narayan Banerjee at Zenith Hospital,
Belgharia, Kolkata. Dr. Banerjee could not diagnose despite end no. of tests
and rather he had commented like a GOD. May
be Dr. Banerjee is good for doing money making by cheating the common man.

He was admitted due to closure of Tracheostomy but it has
not been happened due to mis handle of my father, rather I have doubt about his
capability. Dr. Banerjee is nowadays only a money maker & having no
commitment rather he do lots of immoral comments.

On 18th afternoon, Dr. told me that my father would die at
any time but he is still alive. Just for an info My father was under Dr.P.C.
Mandal in Apollo due to cardio myophy and then Dr. Debal Roy .

In my eyes both the doctor are great at least they do not do
loose comment rather they are very much take responsibility.

Also the worst part is that my father was released in the
morning but as he requires oxygen so they take the oxygen cost till he leaves
the hospital. Also they had lots of hidden cost which was not known to the common
man.In One night they have charged 27K without justifaction.

There are few people engaged by Dr. himself who have been
continuously advertising his skill & competency but it is not so

                                      Please never make
this mistake to admit your dear one under Dr. Narayan Banerjee otherwise you
                                      will have the same fate.
Hello everyone: I am not sure if this the official consumer complaint forum about medical neglect or malpractice. Being a physician myself I can tell you that it is not always possible to cure our loved ones with certainty and you are absolutely right if that would have been the case, all wealthy people would be living a very long life. Problem is not about what is being done but how it is being done, how the families have been communicated to and how much accountability the hospitals and medical professionals have, in all levels from hospital leadership to front door staff and as a matter of fact it is just a reflection of the societal perspective where the government also chooses to be unaccountable. This unaccountability is the epidemic of the society you live in. When we were taught medicine in our time we were taught to diagnose and treat hardly been educated to treat with empathy. A doctor is regarded as a "baro dactar" if he/she hardly seen communicating to you and knows the trick to keep himself/herself "unavailable". Then the other qualifications are car, house. trips abroad, social status, etc etc including proximity to political power. I have been too a product of that system. But I have been too a victim despite knowing the system very well. Almost all the physicians who work for corporate hospital today sell their spine to the corporate lobby to be able to practice there. They are forced to order more diagnostic tests, more procedures and whatever it takes just to be able to have their names on the roster of these hospital. They know they are demigod to you and all the risks will be borne by you as patients or as relatives. If you have third party insurance you may get some financial relief but as prices are not regulated they have no control over the doctors and these so called high end hospitals. QUESTION IS, how long you can just find a forum vent out and go back to do your own business? What can you do to change the culture? You know you have not much of a value as a isolated voice. But collectively you will. One thing though I would caution not every case, not every complaint will have equal merit. Some cases will have no merit. So what can you do to change the culture of accountability? Some of you will settle with some compensation. Is that your Goal? Or, you want to do something so that next victim does not suffer the way did. Ask yourself what you want. By now you must be wondering what is my story...
I told you I am also a victim like you, not once. A particular corporate hospital which actually somehow managed to get an American accreditation is leading the pack for most of the unethical activities in Kolkata. I told you I want to do something. I told you I am a product of the same system but have long been left. I will get ready fight my cause my way but ready to lend my hand for yours. Prepared for a long road, long fight but I think together we can #fightforaccountability in healthcare in India. Email me if interested to join [protected]@gmail.com
My father was suffering from a constant pain in his chest for quite a number of days...he went to apollo glenangles kolkata and went for full checkup...he under went all the tests including angiogram. ...they said he had to have a immediate bypass surgery as has 80 percent heart blockage...doctor D mondol head of cardiology department in apollo glenangels was the doctor who was seeing my dad...but my family decided to do the operation in chennai ...we immediately took him to ramachandra hospital chennai for treatment. ...there to my dismay it was found out that he has no heart blockage and that the chest pain was due to a cyst under left ribs and he recovered only with medicine...no surgery. ...now I wonder apollo charged me more than 3 lacs for tests done on him and what tests they did??? Apollo kolkata has become a butcher house and a thief...their licence should be provoked for cheating people. ..this happened in 2007...now its 2015 and my father still doesn't have heart problems and he is fit and fine
