[Resolved]  Atul Singh — Cheating by UP Police

I didn't have certificate of my car so my license was confiscated by the police near Vasundhra, Ghaziabad. I was then supposed to go to the SSP office to collect after paying the penalty. I went there on 23rd May around 2 pm and at the enquiry, I was told that I will have to pay 1000 rupees as fine and collect my license. I had got the pollution check done and was carrying the certificate with me.
I still paid 1000 rupees and asked for a receipt, to which they informed that SSP sir signs all at once in the evening so I will have to come and collect later.
I took the money back as I didn't get convinced and went to stand in a queue to meet the SSP and request for the receipt now to avoid another drive back to the office which is long.
In the mean time the same person from inquiry came to me and told that why am I standing here and must go to the first floor, Room number 11 and speak with the officer there. I did that and the officer gave me a discount of 200 and charged me 800 rupees and gave my license back.
He also didn't give me the receipt, I know I should have asked before. But he didn't allow me enough time and asked me to sign on the form which I did assuming he would give me the receipt. But he also told me the same story as the another gentleman.
Now I felt very bad and cheated. I am unsure if the money went to the hands of the right people and whether or not I was supposed to pay 800 rupees.
I am upset as it is very difficult to trust even the policemen, I think they living upto their reputation.

I don't know who to complain, so thought of letting you know.
