[Resolved] Auto Fare — alleged meter manipulation | |||
At the Vadodara airport autos usually insist for fixed charges. On 5th April one young auto driver in his twenties voluntarily agreed to charge as per meter. From Harni Airport to Haribhakti Colony next to Baroda Heart Institute the meter reading showed 7.60 and accordingly charged me Rs 150/-. I feel this is quite excessive. Though I am not sure but last week from airport I was charged Rs 100/ on fixed basis while on the morning of 5th around 5.40/50 am from Bird circle to airport I was charged 120/ on fixed basis. I would like to take up the matter with Police authority so that autos do not play with meter. I would appreciate some one please inform how much fare reading could from airport to Bird Circle/Haribhakti Colony. In Mumbai many such incidents about meter manipulation happened few months back and traffic department took strict steps and even found out the place and mechanics and where such meter were manipulated and took steps to punish the culprits. I am a regular traveler from BARC to Hiranandani for the past 1.5 years. The fare is usually 9.00 on meter and 10:00 during heavy traffic. I travelled by the following autos recently, and their meter shot to 123, which means Rs 160/- from BARC to Hiranandani. How the hell can a meter, under no traffic shoot to 123?Kindly take strict actions against them:
Auto: MH 03 AK 5670
He used abusive language and threatened if I do not pay him 160/- I shall never get an auto from
Hiranandani to BARC again.

I travelled from bangalore cantonment to bomanahalli today(15/02/2010). The driver has asked double charge over meter but he agreed with 11/2 , after reaching he started arguing for double charge and his meter was old one and it showed 20 km from bangalore cantonment to bomanahalli(12KM only). He has taken 300 Rs from me.

These auto drivers start abusing after reaching destination and group with other auto drivers.
