[Resolved]  Auto Rickshaw — Dishonest driver

Dear Sir,

As you must be aware, most auto rickshaw drivers in Bangalore are corrupt to the core, overcharging the customer, rigging the matters to charge excessive fares are some of the huge number of dishonest tactics they follow to earn money, Today I came across one such auto driver, I wanted to travel from Jaynagar 4th Block(Bangalore) to JP Nagar 5th Phase(Nandini Hotel) (Bangalore), this particular auto driver came near me and asked where I wanted to go, I told him my destination, and he quoted the amount of rs 70. The distance from Jaynagar 4th block to Nandini Hotel in JP Nagar 5th Phase is about 2.2 Kms, and the fare in a correct meter comes to be about Rs 23, and in some tampered meters, its about Rs 27. And this driver is so corrupt, that he is charging Rs 70, which is more than triple the amount, the time was 8:50 PM, so there was no reason for the "one and a half meter" rule to apply also, still he charged Rs 70. On asked why he is charging such high amount, he says "i have to return empty". Needless to say, I didnt take that auto, I noted his plate no, its KA 05 A 8237, I request the authorities concerned to kindly take note of this corrupt behaviour and take strict action against this man. I also request passengers in Bangalore to note the number of this auto, beware of travelling in this auto, as I'm sure such a corrupt driver will not think twice before rigging his meter to the highest possible extent.
