[Resolved]  Balaji Cargo Movers — Mishandling of Domestic goods while relocation

I had hired Balaji Cargo Movers(India) for relocating my home goods from Delhi to Bangalore. The packer promised to make the delivery at Bangalore location in 7 days for goods as well as my Car. I made an immediate payment of Rs 35000 while despatching the goods and car on 09 July 09.

However, my goods only reached Bangalore after 10 days and the car took 16 days. But more than that, to my horror, I found that there were following damages/losses to the goods :

1. Damage to a 3 door wooden wardrobe worth Rs 12000/-
2. Crockery and crystal glasses damaged worth Rs 5000/-
3. A precious flower vase not delivered(later said as broken hence
not delivered) worth Rs 1500/-
4. A wrought iron mirror worth Rs 2500 not delivered.
5. Dish TV Antenna broken and Cable missing, total loss Rs 3000/-
6. A 3 seater sofa leg broken and scratches over the entire
furniture. Repairing charges were Rs 2000/-
7. Scratches on the body of 300 ltr refrigerator, no damage assessment.

When I informed the transporter about the damages, he started accusing me of putting false claims although the household goods damages were shown to the unloading party and also put down in the receipt handed over to them. Although the goods were insured but he had not provided the insurance copy, which he only sent on my repeated calls and mails to him, only to be found that the insurance covered damages due to fire or accident in transit, wheras as per his builty, he has charged me for comprehensive insurance.

Now, he has stopped attending my calls. I would request the consumer forum to help me in claiming my damages from Balaji Cargo Movers(India).
