I closed my Juniper (now Barclays) AirTrans+ credit card May08 with a ZERO balance. In September I received an email informing me that my account was overdue and that I owed over $150.00. I immediately called customer service and they told me that a charge of $70 was made after the account was closed and that additional penalties and fees accounted for the rest. After 15 minutes of trying to find out what the original charge was and how they can accept a charge on an account that is closed, I was transferred to another representative who told me that they would remove the charges and that I "should have received a letter stating that my account was closed" (like this was somehow MY fault). To make a long story short, I have been bombarded with harassing emails, letters, and phone calls about my "delinquent" account that is now over $200. I see no other remedy but to get an attorney, Barclays is intent on destroying my credit rating. Unfortunately, I will no longer fly AirTrans. Was this information helpful? |
