Extremely poor facility n very harsh and unfriendly staff. My relative got admitted and unnecessary tests were done for no genuine reason. They will try to keep you in hospital for no reason and atleast test you for 1000 different things just to make money.
I will simply say, CMRI is just a money making hub.
Facilities are improper or bad.
1. My relative was admitted to ICU for some small ailment as rooms were having faulty AC sincle last 7 days. Which hospital keep rooms non functional for 7 days?
2. Day 2- Nothing done. Kept us waiting and the patient waiting in admitted state since evening 8 until a neurologist visits from outside. They do not have doctors in-house. Note the point- One more day of ICU charges have been metered.
3. Neurologist gave test related to cardiology. Why the cardiologist did not recommended the test during day 1 visit or day 2 morning visit? They try to elongate the treatment to make money. This is as simple as that.
4. Office staff are harsh- TPA guys do not give proper explanation. Admission desk and manager, admission desk fail to accomodate the patient in any ward even after 30 hrs of hospitalization in ICU. When asked, they start behaving badly. TPA desk, billing desk, admission desk all are very harsh and do not have netiquettes. I blew them all and clearly pointed their fault and shorcomings of the hospitals but I believe not everybody is so straightforward.
5. Billing desk do not provide proper bill if partial payment is done by insurance and partial is done in cash.
6. Doctors are not transparent and harsh. When I called the cardiologist to explain the non availability of the room, he disconnected the phone, . When I called again asking whether the cardiac tests recommended by neurologist (note mismanagement amongst doctors) are really critical as the patient undergone the same tests few months back. The response was everything that the doctor says is critical. I asked for the justification and the doctor simply disconnected as he does not have any answer. I called the neurologist and the answer was same as he knows that the tests recommended are not must to have tests and can be done within few weeks.
I would say Red Cross and NABH should cancel the license of this hospital. Go to any damn hospital but CMRI, Calcutta.

I Mrs Anita Pachisia living at Konnagar did a U.S.G from CMRI for full description of stone/s in my Gall bladder but the report of the U.S.G was not clear to my doctor (ex: the size, No. of stone/s, actual position in Gall bladder of the stone/s is not mentioned in the report). So we request to the the Dr. V.C.Kuruvilla(consultant Radiologist) to reconstruct the report adding the above written query, but the doctor saying that he cannot doing that because it is the final report o[censored].S.G at CMRI. CMRI cannot give any further information. I did a U.S.G from my locality spending only Rs. 400/- and their report is much clear than CMRI's. So what is the advantage of doing U.S.g from CMRI(one of the reputed & largest hospital of Kolkata?) spending Rs.1600/- ?
Tpa does not work properly though it charges Rs 500 for each patient. Even the staffs looks very bad manners with the insurance doctors.
CMRI is a well known hospital in Kolkata. But the staffs & employees of this hospital are not at all good. There's no system in CMRI. The staffs dont know how to behave & how to talk with the patients & their relatives.
They used to postponed the relative tests suggested by doctors for the extra charges.
Is this the way to treat a patient in CMRI?
Please look into matter & help us to get good treatment.

CMRI claims to be one of the good hospitals but the management and the entire system appear to be below the standard level. Only two lifts are now in working condition and the visitors as well as patients are to wait in 'Q' for long time to reach their respective beds and the other lifts and staircase are under repair and it is learnt that the same are expected to be operative after Jan'2017. Therefore the rating should be 1 star and the matter should be seriously taken by the authority to improve the standard immediately
The administration and overall management are too poor to comment
Cmri is not a hospital it is money making hub. Admit the patient unnecessarily in icu bcoz lot of earnings.
There is sheer carelessness and negligence of the Nursing staff towards patients in twin sharing rooms on the 6th floor where patients need critical care. The nursing head is not vigilant and ready with lame excuses. Please advice further course of action.epoq
Calcutta Medical Research Institute — Very costly treatments
The management is worst I ever seen. They are looting ppl. An X-Ray which cost Rs.100 outside, they do for Rs. 1550. They do not allow any outside pathlogical tests.
