[Resolved]  fz16 — Dealer

Dear Sir,

We had booked a Yamaha FZ16 flaming Orange with an advance of Rs.5, 000/- on the 24th Nov 08 with a 2 month delivery time.

We were called in mid January 2009 to pay the balance amount of Rs.71, 506/- which we did on the 19th Jan 09.The delivery was given to us after constant follow up only on the 2nd Feb 09.

On the day we took the delivery of the 2 wheeler, we found that there was only 1 flaming Orange vehicle in the showroom. We were made to sit for a while and that is the time we went to see what was happening. We found that the number plate which already had a temporary Reg no. was being changed with the one assigned to us. Secondly, there was an added seat cover which was being removed by the staff.

We started getting doubts in our mind and on close scrutiny we noticed that the tyres were worn out as the threads had scraped, the plastic covers on all lamps were also removed (normally when any NEW vehicle is purchased all lamps have plastics covered to protect from scratches) the vehicle odometre / running metre showed 28 kms. there were few scratches on the tank. We brought all this to the notice of the in charge Mr. Nilesh at Excellent Yamaha but he kept on saying that it is not so.

Next we were given the Owners Manual and to our surprise we found that it had been tampered. The name & address which is filled in the owners manual book was changed by a whitener and latter corrected with my name & address. This was too much for me to digest and we had an argument with the dealer but, since there was only one vehicle of the said colour we had no option but to take the deliver reluctantly.

A couple of my friends have also bought the same vehicle who got the delivery in 2 weeks time with lesser amount i.e. Rs.75, 500/- with crash guard, saree guard & parking cover. Whereas, we were charged Rs.350/- for parking cover. Even the TEFLON coating done at Excellent Yamaha Service Centre in Andheri charges at Rs.1, 500/- per coat whereas your Lower Parel Service Centre does it FREE.

The reason why we are writing to you is because we feel that we have been cheated by Yamaha and it is our duty to bring this to the notice of such a prestigious Company.

We hope to receive a favorable reply and proper action is taken with your dealer at Andheri.
