[Resolved]  GE Money Cash Card — Wrong charges.

I am having GE Money cash card past 4 years, but i do not use it much. In the month of September 2008 i received a bill of Rs.167 as annual charges and my due date was of 24th October, 2008. I made the cheque and asked my office boy to go the nearest branch and drop the cheque on 20th October 2008, five days before the due date. To our surprise there was no branch there. They have closed down the branch. So my person came back and informed me the same. I sms GEMC ON 56767 which is facility from GE Money for branch location. I found the other drop box location near my home and then my person went there on 21st October, 2008. But still my cheque was reflected in my bank account on 30th October, 2008. The next month i received the bill of Rs.396 with late payment charges / finance charges / government charges. Now whats this Government charges. I called up Customer Care Number and told them the whol story, for which they agreed to wave off the late payment charges, but not the other charges and also they informed me that the finance charges and government charges would be charged on my current months usages. I had called three times regarding this maater to Customer Care and also mailed thrice to customercare.[protected]@ge.com but there was no reply from there side, not even an auto responder. When i called and confirmed, they replied that they haven't received any email from my side. So finally i have decided to email you and discuss all the matter.
Now was it my fault if they deposited my cheque late. First they closed down the branch without any information, secondly there were couple of Diwali holidays by the time. Atleast they should consider all this matter.
Now if i do not pay this amount of Rs.396, they will levy late payment charges and finance charges and different kind of charges, one haven't heard of, and if we pay, then ultimately we are in loss and then they will continue repeating such things again and again.
Please if any one help me solve this matter.

I have the bank account in State Bank of India Madurai. I drop the cheque in GE office Madurai. Now You charged outstation chq charges. Please wave this charges. Pls do the needful soon as possible
