[Resolved] Gold Biscuit Scam — Gold biscuit scam | |||
I am resident of Calicut, Today morning I received a call from a person speaking Hindi from [protected] roughly at 10 am. He said his name was Mr. Rathode, a poor person and a resident of Alwar. He was offering to sell me some gold biscuits which he claimed to have found when excavating as a labourer near the Taj Mahal in Agra. He said some pipe laying work is going on there, and he was operating a JCB at 10pm in the night when he found the stuff about 4-5 feet underground. He said he had about 6 gold biscuits which had some engravings on them and precious stones embedded. He wanted me to come over to Patela (near Delhi) to check on the items and buy them at 50% of the market rate. He said he got my number from a truck driver named Pappu he befriended while travelling from Agra to Alwar. He did not remember the truck registration number. It is important to note that the only thing he was sure about me was that I was in Kerala. He did not know my name (neither do I know any truck driver named Pappu). Please note I have not revealed by name to him as well. He had a solid story to back up his claim, and also offered a complete address in Alwar which I did not write down. I did ask a lot of details for which he had answers, I think the call lasted more than 5 mins. He was persisting that I not share his number with anyone else. Today morning I also received call for buying gold bar . He is said, he is calling from Aasam.when I asked them who gives my number he said Raju an auto driver from uttar pradesh.I Have recording of call also.

My Father who is an amputee, got a call from this fellow called Salim and he fell into the trap...he thought it was a god given opportunity and travelled to Delhi from Pondicherry without even informing us why he is going...
When he came back, he showed us the gold bar pics with a small sample he brought...now that he was convinced...he was speaking with that guy over phone and settled the deal for 7 lakhs each gold bar and tried to convince me and his friends here to give 7 lakhs to get 1 gold bar and sell it for 28 lakhs market rate...
We found this extremely fraudulent and tried convincing my 69 year old father that this is fraud and showed him all the proofs of other people with similar experience here which is easily found in the net...it was hard to digest this for him after seeing all these proofs...
My father also lost his cell phone there in Delhi which we think might have been stolen by those guys...same description...same story...2 brothers..1 sick mother...village setting...jcb...digging site in gujarat...not willing to travel...nonsense and more nonsense...
Save yourself and save others like my father who are vulnerable...very scary to think what could have happened if he had gone there with money...as we see that they are a network of thugs and with weapons too...
Police of not just Delhi or Rajasthan but other states too should act as this seems to be going on since 2013 until now and how long until how many more fall in this trap in future...

Looks like I'm the latest in this scam. I received a call from a guy called Rajkumar stating that he is calling me from Rajasthan. He knew my name and he said that he used to drive taxi in Chennai and I had met him once. I don't remember anything like that.
Then he told me the same excavation story and shared the pics of gold bars. His number is

i have a call form rajasthan in this same matter . he had to 4 bars (900)gram . he did my number in a truck driver .he told his name rahul ([protected]) i was in kerala he offerd me to 50% . he tookk me the id proff and adreess.he gives to a sample peace of gold it also 1 g below .
