Great India Travels — Non receipt of vouchers | |||
Dear Sir, We have purchased a travel package from “Great India Travels” (http://www.greatindiatravels.in) for 4 nights 5 days for Rs 5499 on 9th June 2012. According to the package condition, the above package can be used by 2 couple for 4 nights 5 days at any of the affiliated resort / hotel in India. Also one would receive the voucher within 7-10 working days from the date of dispatch. It has been nearly 17 days since we had booked the holiday package. However have not yet received any vouchers from their side. Moreover we have got different reply from them whenever we tried to get in touch with them. Following are some of the replies that we have got from them 1). We have already dispatched your vouchers and you should get by tomorrow 2). We will dispatch your vouchers today and you should get it by 2-3 working days 3). We are running short of vouchers 4). We will give you courier tracking code within half an hour 5). We have delivered the voucher but it had returned. All of the above replies were given by different executives in 2 days for the same voucher. Inshort they were just trying to fool around with no intention to deliver the voucher. As per the company’s policy, one can ask for refund within 20 days. When we asked for refund they are not giving us any reply. Also it is difficult to contact them as they are not even responding to our calls. I have started believing to all the comments posted by my friends in this site related to Great India Travels. Mine is a recent example of being kept in dark throughout. I got in touch with a sales executive Mr. John Varkey who was very nice and persistent in calling me to buy the deal which sounded to be very attractive and after a lot of attempts from his side and assurance on mail for providing accommodation once i buy the deal, i went ahead buying the deal.
I bought 5499 package on 29th June 2012 only after Mr. John Varkey communicated on mail that i will get the accommodation as per my choice from their list of hotels (which was sent to him) which he mentioned has being confirmed from the hotel authorities too. I insisted him to get me the confirmation from the Hotel authorities to double confirm the deal but he told me that i would get once i buy the deal. Then today morning to my surprise i got a call from the Company for verification and they told me that i would not be confirmed of the hotel bookings anytime soon as i have not booked prior to 30 days of my travel. So just to initiate sales and get the funds in their acc., i was miscommunicated and given false promises that as an exception they will consider this case as they had inventory. i have been trying to get in touch with the authorities repeatedly since morning but efforts going in vain as the ppl. are well trained to ignore these complaints by simply disconnecting the lines.
I am still trying to check with them if these guys are really interested in solving the query and continue their travel business or shut it down. Will definitely update you to help you decide whether they can go for this Company or go for other good reliable options and not disturb your blood pressure.
I am trying to get in touch with the cheater John Varkey but he is not coming on line and when i am calling the customer care guys, they are assuring me of calls from the seniors but no calls as yet and all efforts in vain. I have requested thrice on mail that i don't want to go ahead with their deal and to refund me the money immediately. Waiting for their reply since past 2 days. Will update you on this.
