Sir This is regarding my fight with Honda Motocycles india. I am attching My comliant letters to them. ==============Last Mail============= Sir I wish to express my gratitude on your enthusiasm to attend my complaint and calibrating the issues I mentioned. Your technicians examined my bike with great attention. Unfortunately they compared my Honda shine with another Honda shine. And judged that there are moving parts and it will vibrate usually. They said technicaly the vibrations are usual and according to their norms. (At a stage we even doubt “whether they were explaining vibration as a unique feature of Honda shine) and Honda shine is meant for city riding only. In fact they admitted my points. Honda shine is bike of Vibration flavored with good pickups. Vibration is common for all shines. I suggest to change your logo to Dream IT, Do IT, Vibrate IT. HMSI is formed to vibrate Indian riders. Let me express my strong disagreement on your procedures. I have given references of other customers also but your agents were unaware of complaints from other customers .I doubt they cant drive a silent bike like bajaj Discover 125 dtsi because they are used to vibration for last few years. Wah!!! you have changed the level of riding. I feel really pity on the ultimate solution your technicians suggested, as to sell my new Honda shine for Rs 38000 and buy a Honda Unicorn for 64000. Is this the only expertise solution you can provide?? You know there is another solution better than this, to sell Honda shine for Rs 2500/- and buy a cycle and use it for city rides. This would be a better solution you can give when other customers also sue for compensation. I have one request to the Honda head. Please don’t under estimate the level of Indian riders. I suggest u arrange a training to your research and Design engineers with Bajaj or Sizuki or TVS. It will give better results while designing your future models. Get them trained for how to move automobile parts without vibration. Honda is a Big company designing bikes with vibration other Indian companies are designing bikes without vibration. Stop your stupid arguments and be aware of the fact Honda shine is vibrating unusually compared to other 125 CC bikes. Most of the Indian customers are not aware about consumer rights. You can stay on your stupid arguments while I am taking the challenge of pooling all vibrating customers of Honda shine and going right for another complaint. Once again I request you to solve my issue early as possible. The bike was delivered to me with lot of problems within it. Though the engine was smooth, it lacked the usual riding comfort. I made complaints and the dealer tried twice to resolve the issue. They worked on it a lot including replacement of shock absorbers. I appreciate their efforts to resolve the issue but I am sorry to say that all their efforts to solve vibration are in vain. The persisting problem is a kind of vibration on handle on low speeds and annoying vibration on foot rests which disturbs the ease in driving that the hands and legs become numb after a long drive. Dealer promised to me that the problems will be solved after completing 3000 kms and the lack of a 5th gear created all such issues. (Let me ask one thing why should we, the ones, purchasing your bikes suffer for the burden you have created). I can’t take such burden of driving all 3000 kms along in an incomfortable machine, which you people call bike, waiting for attaining the ease and comfort while driving. I very much suspect that the bike delivered to me was used for test drives and repaired after a major accident. The bike may have some other major issues also. Actually I was shocked after my first drive with the bike purchased, because o[censored]nusual sounds and damaged suspensions along with a annoying vibration. Why do Honda deliver two wheelers with out having been properly examined and tested upon?. I have been using bikes for the last 13 years and successfully completed 95000 kms with my old bike. I am already fed up using such a vibrator machine in which i have completed a suffering journey of only 1300 kms. The dealers are telling that the bike needs to be get inspected by company technicians. The shameful fact is that the dealers had worked on it twice, but no use at all, only to waste my precious time and now again asking for a third chance to work upon. From his words, I suspect it’s some sort of issue related to the design. He also told that Shine is a High Torque bike and it is common to have vibrations till 3000 kms as the bike doesn’t have a 5th gear. All these points made me clear that my argument of Honda Shine being is defective bike is not just a guess, but a fact, a real fact. I suggest the defective product needs to be withdrawn with immediate effect and compensation granted to me. Kindly repay the money. Usually we customers expect a quality standard on the products of Honda. fully disagree, The bike is the best wherein even at slow speeds i can ride in higher gears, best mileage apt for daily usage. I've never used a refined bike than this.
May be your requirement is a higher cc bike to ride at high speeds. One should know his requirement well when you are making a purchase. There is no point in putting across your resentment to others

I was Using bajaj Caliber. it was smoother than Shine. u try to use Bajaj Discover. discover will show you real smoothness on high speeds.
At first i made many complaints vai mail n in personal.They responded, but never admited my claim.

case against them together with producing a medical certificate proving the ill effects caused to health by such irregular shaky drives. As soon as
they got the court notice,took immediate action, called me up to solve the issue,by settling my amt and taking back the bike.
settlement was made up for Rs 50000. only deducting a sum of Rs 1218 from my purchase price of Rs 51218.)

I sold my CD100SS, bought a Shine and it is a year and a half now. I had a number of issues. On day 1 it was a issue with getting it started in the morning. The service center folks refused to adjust its idling rpm and just told me that it is all done at the factory. I got it done from a local mechanic.
The second issue was the vibrations, I was not able to drive beyond 50kmph. And at 70kmph, the vibrations were so high that I could not hold the hand bar. I had to drive a 100km stretch below 50. This bike is for a crowded city not suitable for highways
Before first service I got a mileage of 55kmpl but after the service I got a pathetic 35 kmpl, though company claims 65 in city conditions.
The disc pads wear out quickly. I also get into false neutral after 3rd gear unless you hit hard on the lever
After a number of visits, the service figured out how to improve the mileage to 50kmpl and reduce vibrations. But the pickup of the bike is lost now. But I am only able to speed upto 80kmph which is the performance of a 100cc bike (like my good old CD100SS). I would lose a lot of money if I sell the bike, so I am looking for a good mechanic for service.
This bike is a compromise the money you pay and service you get. It costs about 55k. You have to wait for a month. The service literally does not exist. Probably the engine is good but rest of the bike is not. for example a fifth gear is essential for the kind of power it generates. The bike is not capable of handling the vibrations/power the engine generates.
I am not a techy guy. I feel that this bike require high precision equipment and mechanic to service it. Unless you make a hue and cry at the service center or know a good mechanic or you can do it yourself, it is not worth buying this bike. Moreover I heard that the parts are not available for purchase (may be things are better now). So you are forced to service your bike at their own service centers. A bike is a bike. We cannot go looking around for engineers to repair your bike. A road side mechanic should be able to fix issues when you are in trouble.
My friend has a TVS bike and another Suzuki, they are happy with their bikes, they say it is good, almost zero maintenance even after 2 years and the mileage is 65+ always. These bikes are also cheaper by Rs.10000. I should have checked these bikes before buying Shine.

I have purchased Honda shine in 10/2008, after 3 services over, service centers/show rooms were treating the vehicle owners as 'BEGGERS' they are not bothered about the customers satisfaction, giving the Vehicle for servicing and after service delivery was very problematic issue for all the Vehicle Owners of HONDA, i Do Agree with Problem of Vibration with Honda Shine as I Have Purchased Honda shine on 10-feb-09

I purchased a HONDA SHINE on Aug 2008 at pondichery and i am using it in chennai, for me Shine is performing better that any bike i had used(passion and Discover). Very good serviceing by KUN, Chennai, i done 7 services with them in just 2 years and my Shine is Shining better. I dont feel any vibration in Shine while crossing speed of 60 km/h, i feel more better when i crossing the same, The Pick up is extra ordinary, Easy handiling in traffic. It listens to what rider wants. Please use Genune Honda Engine oil, Honda is sensitive engine, do service with authorised dealers. I seen a Shine gone worst serviced by a unauthorised person.

I have taken a HONDA SHINE Bike No PB05N 3205 motor bike from Gyan HONDA, G.T Road, Ferozepur Cantt (Pb) Pin Code-152001.Last month 27 Aug 2011 I hav given my bike for servicing due to small accident to my bike. The servicing and change Cylinder kit alongwith connected parts at all satisfactory to me. But show room mechnic asked to me your bike will be ready within two or three days and Job Card No 15525 dt 27.08.11 issue to me.
Hence the Gyan Honda Agency is not given any response to me when the bike is ready. I am suffering my work without my bike.
You are requested to take necessary action.
