[Resolved]  Icfai University Tripura — undue charge of membership Fee from Student

Address:Mumbai City, Maharashtra

Dear Sir,

I enrolled for MBA studies with ICFAI university Tripura corresspondance course in year 2007. I sucessfully clear their two level upto advanced diploma in management studies and yet to clear their further 2 levels. However the institute demanded from many a student like me a Fee of Rs 5000 towards membership Fees for council of ICFAI of MBA graduates.
we have already paid in full joining of Fees at the time of joining studies and initially it was not at all intimated of levey of such charges from time to time in future.

The fee of Rs 5000/- we find to be really unjustifyable and it is undue charges from the institution. My complaint is how a student can become the member of the council when he has not become the MBA graduates. The institue has seems to be solely diverted from its sole motive of promoting education and higher studies to making education as commercialised activity.

I sincerely request your goodself to look into my above complaint and order ICFAI university to charge such membership Fees only to MBA graduates(who become MBA) and not the students.

Yours Faithfully

Dear Daxesh Thaker,

Students are required to become members of the Alumni society while in the final stage of the program. The program prospectus indicates the same. CIMBAG is the Alumni body for the program. Hence the need for payment.

Can you please elaborate whate benifit does it reder to student? and how this would be usefull to a
student.

regards
daxesh
H! Daxesh,

It says "Membership in Icfai alumni Federation" All the students who successfully complete the mba program are eligible to become the members of the icfai alumni federation.

But if you have a look into the cimbag council website i think they have done a fair job .
working with various blue chip companies all over India. To conduct and sponsor seminars, conferences, and executive development programs, research studies, publications and consultancy work aimed at creating and disseminating knowledge and improving professional practice in the area of Management.

I think this will better the chances of an icfai mba completed students getting a job or getting recognized as well. End of the day we will draw some or the other benefit from it for sure.

All the best ...

I don't understand, becoming member how does it personally benifit to me. what in return am i getting by paying Rs 5000/- membership Fees. Does this council has any code of conduct for its member or does it recognised in the industry. there is not special benifit or return as a students we are getting. I mean are we getting any publushing, knowledge magazine on becoming member of alumini society? you even didn't mentioned the website name?
bye the way can you further mentioned in what capacity you replied in favour of Tripura university. Can you introduce yourself
Dear Mr.Daxesh Thaker,

CIMBAG is the council for the MBA graduates which is providing the networking and other services to the successful graduates. Only successful graduates are eligible to be members of the council. The fee payable is a onetime fee as indicated in the prospectus given at the time of enrollment to you.
The website to access the details is ww.cimbag.org.

I have completed MS Accounting course from Icfai, now waiting for the Certificate.I have cleared all the course fees one year back but when I asked for the Certificate they are asking me to pay 6000. It seems we are buying the membership. What type of help it will provide us when I am staying out side of india?
