Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter to bring to your notice the unethical and unprofessional code of conduct by ING Life insurance representatives.
One of the executive of ING life insurance named Mr. Sumit Kumar Mishra approached me for discussing about a retirement plan for my father. He committed me that if we pay a premium of Rs. 50000 annually for tenure of 4 years, would entitle us to receive a pension amount of Rs. 7200 per month from the 5th year, up to the age of 85 years, which was pretty hard to believe.
He showed me the computation of the same, which he brought along with him. I insisted him to let me know how that pension amount of Rs. 7200 per month was computed. At that moment he showed a severe lack of knowledge about the policy and the pension amount computed and requested for an appointment for a different date.
He however, collected a cheque from me for Rs. 50000 towards the first annual premium and told me that during next meeting he would bring along the monthly pension computation on the letter head of the company. During the next meeting also he was not able to explain how the pension amount was derived and had mugged up few policies and when asked about something else, again he wanted more time. I told him that I don’t want the policy and asked him to return the cheque which he collected from me.
Next day again I received a call from Sumit and he told that the Branch Manager, Mr. Vishal wants to have a talk with me and sort out my query. Mr. Vishal was also not able to justify the commitment made by Mr. Sumit and said that the pension would be around 4000 and that also subjected to market conditions. I clearly told him that I don’t want the policy and requested him to return the cheque, to which he agreed.
Later on, to my surprise, I came to know that inspite of my refusal to take the policy, the policy was issued to me. I m extremely sorry that across the industry I haven’t found any Insurance company behaving in such a way. The details of the policy issued are:
Policy No: 01770361
Type of Policy: New Best Years
Policy holder: Manjeet Pal Singh Bhui
Further, to add to my astonishment, I found that the policy which I received was totally manipulated by your officials. Details of the same are hereunder:
* The application form attached with the Policy is not the one, which was filled up and signed by my father.
* The Signatures in the name of Mr. Manjeet Pal Singh have been forged by your executive.
* The tenure period which was of 4 years, has been manipulated to 5 years.
* Contact No.(mobile) filled up in the form is not of mine, but that of Mr. Sumit Kumar Mishra.
* Father and Mother of the policy holder (Manjeet Pal Singh) are alive, which has been showed as natural death.
This is extremely pathetic and a case of Fraud and Forgery. ING Life Insurance cannot forever deny the unethical acts of its representatives as the communication which I had with Sumit Kumar Mishra and Mr. Vishal were on a recorded line and I am having the recording clips for the same.
I still trust the higher authorities of this company who have built it, to look into the matter, and cancel the policy immediately and refund the complete amount of Rs. 50000, without deducting any charges. I regret to inform you that I have never had to face such problems in any of my dealing with any of the insurance company in India. I do anticipate a reply and expect steps be taken against those responsible, or rather should I say, totally irresponsible and set example for others too.
