[Resolved]  Jet Airways — Refund for airfare

Dear Sir/ Madam

We are hereby sending you the details of the kind of service and non-refund of full flight charges caused due to delay in flight from Mumbai to Delhi.

On December 01, 2011 we had confirmed tickets, numbered[protected] and[protected] for trip from Mumbai to Chandigarh in the name of Tejas Shah and [censored]al. This was a connecting flight from Mumbai to Delhi 9W351 with Jet airways scheduled to leave at 13:35 and reach Delhi at 15:35. The connecting flight from Delhi to Chandigarh 9W7126 via Jetlite was scheduled to leave from Delhi at 16:10 and reach Chandigarh at 16:55.

We had checked in for boarding passes of both the flights at Mumbai airport. However, the flight 9W351 from Mumbai to Delhi reached Delhi airport reached at 16:05. At the Delhi airport we did not have any one to guide us toward the connecting flight to Chandigarh and by the time we reached the terminal where the flight was scheduled, it had already left.

When we contacted the customer service desk, they confirmed we would get full refund for the flight from Delhi to Chandigarh for both o[censored]s and informed us to contact the ticketing counter for refund. Unfortunately, that day we did not carry the credit card through which we had booked the tickets. So the person at the ticketing counter gave us the breakup of the amount of ticket that would be refunded and asked us to contact their customer service once we reach Mumbai.

To add to this, they had already transferred our luggage from Jetairways Flight to Jetlite Flight towards Chandigarh as we had already checked in our baggage in Mumbai. When we were informed to check for refund, they could not locate our luggage and later on when they contacted the ground staff at Chandigarh; our luggage had reached Chandigarh and we were in Delhi. They informed the ground staff to have our luggage secured with them and once we reach Chandigarh they would send it to us. However, we did not wait and when we reached Chandigarh next day in the morning, we went at the airport and collected our luggage.

On reaching Mumbai, when we communicated with Jet Airways customer service, they informed only Rs.500 could be refunded to us. Further, as you can check the communication enclosed below in chain mail, you will find that they later agreed only to pay Rs.1600 per person. As such, after two months of communication, we have only received Rs. 1600 in the month of February 2011 as against full refund as promised.

As per the working , we are supposed to receive Rs. 3834 per person for the unused sector of the ticket. So accordingly it should be 3834 x 2 = 7668 – 1600 = 6,068.

Mumbai- Jet Airways customer care is not at all co-operative.
