No boss they are cheater just give attation they confusing new buyer with edited bios n their box with 1 cpu and 4 cpu n selling them 10000 more price than market
They stick stickers of Core i5 on dell laptops which are actually dual core, or change the bios of the laptops or say to customers that b950 which is a dual core laptop is better than i5 as B means Business series laptop
They sell a dual core laptop saying it is an i5 or an i7. Way to check it: In bill they do not mention i3 or i5. Instead only processor no. is printed i.e. B950 or B960. Something like this:
Laptop Dell
Serial No.
4gb RAM
500GB HDD
Bluetooth
Webcam
Wifi
B950

I was looking for a high end laptop for a certain purpose. so after some research over internet, chose a laptop from Asus with the following Config:
Processor: Intel I7
Ram: 8 GB
Graphics: Nvdia gForce 2GB
HDD: 1TB
I visited almost all the shops in Lamington road, some didn't have this series and others price was varying slightly (i.e. it was from 52, 000 to 54, 000).
When i came across this shop "Lappie World" i was surprised at the price he offered me, it just 46, 000 compared to 52k / 54k at other shops.
So i decided to buy it, when i was asking him to get the laptop, a guy from the shop Mr. Ketan suggested me another model from HP, with high end configuration better than Asus. And it was for Rs.44, 000. The configuration of Hp Laptop as per Mr. Ketan:
Processor : AMD 64 Bit
Ram:12 GB
HDD: 1 TB
Graphics: 5GB
When i asked to get that HP laptop, they told me to pay 2, 000 as some kind of registration fees. I felt something fishy and decided not to pay. I asked him to get the laptop first and then i will pay. Finally after a long argument and waiting for an hour they got the laptop model i asked for and told me to pay the registration amount if they had to open the pack.
I thought that should be fine and payed them Rs. 2000 as registration fees (BIG MISTAKE). Once they opened the box, i found something strange. It didn't have an instruction guide/ user manual (Normally every laptop has it) instead only a HP pamplet.
Once the laptop was booted, i observed that the memory was less than it was supposed to be. It was showing 8 GB in windows properties. When i checked in the BIOS is was displaying 12 GB. When i asked him, he said it is fine, windows is just displaying it wrong, but it will work(LOL). When i checked the laptop again it was Windows 7 Basic installed and no information is displayed about the graphics card. I knew something was not right with the laptop. So i just checked this model over the Internet through my phone and came to know that this model number is actually a basic laptop with And processor 32 bit and 2 Gb of Ram. The best part, the cost of this laptop was 28, 000 in Flipkart.
And the RAM, Windows 7 basic supports only upto 8 GB ram. I guess Mr.Ketan didn't know about this and landed in trouble.
I told them that the laptop is fake and i am not going to Buy it. When i asked for 2, 000 Rs. i paid. They denied giving it back saying it was the registration fees and box is opened.
After 1.5 Hr's of Argument, i was furious and told them i would be calling the HP and inform about this Fake Laptops being sold. And as i was heading toward the police station (Right Opp. to the shop) to lodge a complaint againt them, Mr. Ketan stopped us and decided to refund us.
So finally i wasted my 4 Hrs with arguments and stuff and came out without the Laptop. So BEWARE of this shop guys.

Thanks...I also heard this type of cases from my friend...
Yes...Beware of the Shop...Completely fraud...They may attract you with challenging rates but all parts are fake.
Well... I would really thank Pushkarajvn for posting this.I too bought a laptop from this shop...but from the moment I bought the laptop I was finding it really fishy...the first thing which clicked my mind was when shopkeeper said that core i5 has three variants, of which is a single core/dual/quad...and that singoe core doesn't support anything greater than office 2007.I was like come on, how can that be when my tiny netbook supports it and a powerful core i5 doesn't. I even searched for the same model on net with the config that they offered me(as he told me, that they order on a lot basis with their special config specs) but there wasn't a single site on the net which offered that config.Unfortunately, I bought the laptop and came home... But somehow I was still feeling fishy about the product...When I started using it at home I found that the touchpad isn't functioning with the pinch to zoom and other gestures whereas original laptops do have. Then I opened the "windows updates" where I found that stuff like auto download updates and all were already disabled which shouldn't be as Microsoft promotes using them...then I enabled and downloaded the updates...which didn't get install as it would do with a typical PIRATED windows(genuine one was promised to me though)...I was still in a dilemma that is it really an assembled product...then I visited laptop's original site where I found that the product was already registered an year ago and the pirated windows was installed some 6months back...I was so scared that I invested around half a lakh and that too got a pirated product...next day morning with all my insecurity in my mind I searched for shops in lamington road and about them being genuine. And thanks to yhis site which I just found below wikipedia link that all my doubts and insecurity about the product proved to be true...The way they market theses products is clearly mentioned above...I just went there that evening and told him to give my money back...He was ready to give me a genuine laptop as he agreed to all the above said things by me...buy my friend told me...now you just cant afford to trust these people...I even said that buy me a genuine product from croma or vijay sales which he refused to and told that he would buy me another one only from lamington shops(surely the fraudulent ones)...after 45mins of discussion and scaring him with how he fools people he agreed to pay all my money back...
I would just suggest that there's no need to buy from lamington...everything you get is all fraud as they just can't afford to sell genuine products for such cheap prices...
Also special thanks to this site that helped me in knowing about this fraud racket...
thank you

I checked 5-6 more such stores and the same story there too...discounts ranging from 8000/-to 10000/-..lolz..I was fortunate that i didnt buy it today...and googled for fraud shop in laminton and found most of them in same category...

Why to waste your money when you doubt these shops... You really can't say anything about them... And the way they work... What if you buy a laptop and then come to know that the original hard disk and ram has been replaced by those cheaper ones... and the operating system is not genuine... Better but it from trusted chains like croma/vsp/etc.
I don't want anyone to learn it in a harder way like me:-(

yes agree with fraud service of this shop.
I would 100% agree with Pushkarajs review. We went to Lamington Rd yesterday to purchase an i7 laptop (specifically looking for Lenovo ideapad Y510p) A few of the shops quoted around 72-74K which was an acceptable price as the market price is around 79K. We went to lappy world to ask for the same and initially he quoted 54K which was just mind boggling and too good to be true.
We then asked for the detailed config as I was well aware about the config of the ideapad I was looking for. He was ready to give everything within that price range, then I asked him for SSD, he said he will provide 128GB of SSD but that laptop will cost around 61K. Then I started wondering and smelled something fishy as the model I was looking for doesn't come with an SSD in India. In US there is SSD offered with this drive but is limited to 24GB.
We then went around multiple shops again to check some good deals, when we couldn't find anyone beating his price, we returned to lappie world again to dig deeper into the config and exact model. We then enquired further and found what he was offering is Lenovo ideapad Y510 which is different than Y510p, I asked him for each and every part detail which he said he will provide the same. We asked him to provide the price for Y510p for which he said it will be 64K. We still smelt something fishy and asked the detailed config, he again said he can provide everything we want.
We had then agreed to buy 2 laptops as one of my relative was also interested in the deal. .We agreed to one condition that we will pay him only when we find the laptop box packed and we will check it in detail and then pay him else the deal stands cancelled. He agreed and said to fill a Registration form with him and pay 2K. We filled the form and then he started asking us more details why we require an i7. My usage other than gaming was to run some high end applications which were not running well in my i5 laptop. They required very high CPU and memory and multiple cores. He then started telling us that i7 he is offering is a single core and started explaining us the i7 architecture (32 bit, 64 bit) I was a little surprised and also wondered how this guy knows so much. I asked him if he is offering us Ideapad Y[protected] Laptop (4th Gen Ci7/ 8GB/ 1TB/ Win8/ 2GB). He said yes but it will be with Windows 8 Basic and the model will be[protected]. I knew that there are no other models with i7 Y510p but we again checked on google and couldn't find any such thing. Then we started enquiring further with him and we said that we don't find any such models he is offering anywhere on Lenovo website and on Internet as well. He said that these models are specifically available for dealers and are customizable.
We then understood his whole plan and then stated that we had clearly told him that we want a box pack item which we had agreed with him to open in front of him, check for it being genuine without any damages. He said he will customize that laptop for our needs. He was caught in his own trap now and we got a refund of the 2K that we paid to him.
There are a few genuine shops which also actually warned us about certain vendors in Lamington offering such deals and never go with them, at the end we went to a Lenovo dealer in lamington who gave us the names of all the vendors that we went to asking for a price and he said all enquiries come to him and he also mentioned Lappie world might have offered us various quotes ranging from around 55K - 65K. He also added don't fall for their trap and they themselves won't be able to offer you the same deals and would then try to sell you something which doesn't meet your requirement
In the end we got a good deal from the dealer but the only bad thing is we had to pay him all in cash and had to run around ATMs. Again all these guys charge 2% on these deals for using credit cards which is a pain. In the end if you are going to Lamington Rd, don't hurry with what you want to buy if you are getting it at unbelievable prices, do a detailed research of what you want to buy from lamington first on the Internet or through known sources and then go around 8-10 shops in lamington. They only have a couple of whole sellers in Lamington to whom all these shops contact for their requirements so you would get a similar price everywhere, it then depends on how much you can bargain

Agree with the original poster.
So called Mr. Ketan from Lappie world is a fraud and His i7/i5 so called "Single core" processor JUST SUPPORTS 32 BIT version apps! wow. And guess what the processor configs from intel's site would clearly state that its a 64 bit processor. BUT THIS GUY will keep insisting that it supports 32 bit only, will heat up your lappie etc.
********** AND THIS SHOULD BE THE TIPPING POINT where you should stick to your guns and state that there no such 32 bit only CRAP if the processor is original INTEL DOES NOT and i repeat DOES NOT CREATE TWO VERSIONS OF A PROCESSOR just for emerging markets such as india*************************
Ultimately i stuck to my guns and backed my knowledge of Computers and was finally able to get a GENUINE HP laptop. But in the hindsight i understand that i did not gain anything from all this and I WAS BETTER OFF PAYING 2-3K more to a HP Authorised retail shop...
But as the saying goes "Once bitten twice shy" I NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE buying laptops from lamington road UNTIL AND UNLESS you know the technology of computers in and out.
You are better off buying from a Authorised retailer of your chosen brand (and infact get good deals if not good prices)
- A past lappie world customer.

I trully agree with my friends who have posted about lappy world and other shops. These shops will offer you such a fabulous low price that you will be tempted to buy. But the underlying game plan how it goes is:
- They change BIOS settings and make u fool by showing wrong info.
- They will say its a Quard core processor for i3. However in real i3 only has 2 cores. Only i7 has 4 cores.
- They will sell dual core with i3 stickers and tampered bios settings which makes one feel that its a genuine product, which is never possible.
- They ask for some registration fees like 2 to 5 thousand to start with, and with that u are trapped.
- Even the internal hardware is manipulated. Many times the warranty is already started coz its returned piece.
Last week I planned to buy one laptop of i3 - 3rd Gen, which costs in normal market from 32 to 36K. I was surprised to see that many shops were selling it at only 22K with lots of offers and bonus products!! This is practically not possible !!!
So its just a sugession to my freinds that please do not buy from Lamington road. The price might seem verry cheap, but u are given old stuffs/ lower version stuffs !!

I shopped for more than 20 years or so from Lamington Road, Mumbai.
Never had any problem. Only precaution to buy from here is to have knowledge about your own requirement.
If you don't have knowledge about the product, difficult to buy from Lamignton road. Nobody sales duplicate or sub-standard products at Lamignton Road, Mumbai. They just want to sell what they have and definitely not aware of the technology (or rather your requirements). People think - the salesperson are technical expert and will help them for their requirements - THIS IS THE PROBLEM.
Now a days I prefer online from Snapdeal / Amazon / Flipkart etc since they are providing competitive prices and deliver what they specify. Youtube review and comments helps.
Online is better now... Price as well as services.
