If this is a Salary Savings Scheme (SSS), it will be worhwhile to check with your employer whether the amount was remitted to LIC. Deduction from your salary is one part and remittance from your employer to the LIC is another. If your employer certifies the payment of premium for your policy to LIC, you will have much stronger case.
