[Resolved]  Max New York Life — Change in ECS

I hold a policy with MNYL since June 2008 with the policy number[protected]. In Jan'2010, I requested my ECS to be changed from a bank account in Bangalore to the same bank account in Hyderabad. The service request was acknowledged, and I was told that the ECS will start reflecting from the next premium due date from the changed account. This hasn't happened yet. I logged complaints with the customer service and also spoke to a few of their managers, who tried to help me but could not. There was a complaint logged by one of their managers with number 3046242. The complaint number that I logged in Feb'2010 is 2046632. There have been numerous attempts from my site to get this resolved, but to no avail. I was convinced by one of their managers to pay the premium due so that the issue can be resolved, which I agreed and made a payment online in June 2010 for an amount of 16675/-. This payment was done in the first week of June, even before my payment due date of 18th of every month. So from June 18th the ECS was supposed to be deducted from the new account, which did not happen. In the last week of July, I get a policy lapse intimation due to non-payment of premiums. I have been trying to contact the customer service ever since, but there was no help whatsoever from MNYL. Till last month I used to get calls from their executives for the premium payment. Each time I tell them abt this complaint, they say they will get back to me with the details, which they never did.

I can furnish all the communication thru email, if this matter can be looked into. I am even ready to take this to the Insurance Ombudsman. Infact I contacted the IRDA helpline after which MNYL contacted me but even then the issue wasn't resolved.
