Medihope Hospitals — Wrong Treatment

Address:Bangalore, Karnataka

I had a very horrifying experience at Medihope and I am writing this while recovering from home. I am 34 years of age and does not have any specific medical history. On17 Aug 2012, 6.30 AM, I had an abdominal pain/fever/vomiting and sought help from their casualty doctor. They gave me injections/drips and asked me to stay till their Lab opens fpr further tests. My complaints of pain and fever has come down by then; but as they wanted tests I stayed in casualty.

I was in casuality doing ultra sound/ct scan etc. as asked by doctors. I paid 100 rupees per hour in casuality and waited for my reports till evening. By evening there was rashes all over my body and my face and eyes got swollen. They asked me to get admitted and later found out that the new symptoms was due to worst medicinal reactions to a pain killer given by the duty doctor, DYCLOFENAC. Meanwhile they did 11 blood tests (Dengue/Malaria/TB/platelletes/WBC all) and may urine tests. I was put on drips although I was taking food. 2 days they stopped all medications and just trearted me for the reactions. Now my muscle joints were swollen with severe pain. They treated me again with some anti biotics/pain killers for another 2 days. I had a feeling that they had no clue of my issues and was just treating me in the wild. Though there were no infections; I was tired due to medications and crippled in movements due to swollen muscle pains. At one point of time I remember they irritatingly told that I am allergic to so many medications.

I forced them to get me discharged on 21 Aug 2012. After a horrying experience with the insurance section (they charded 31000 rupees!); I managed a discharge.

Not mentioning about the staff and nurses who are just not caring and I felt like in an Andaman jail!

I took their medicines for 4 days and my conditions didn't change. Swelling and pain persisted.
I visited my regular ayurvedic doctor at 25 Aug 2012 and explained him all that happened.
He put me into his medication from that day and I started gaining my appetite, general health showed improvements; though swelling continued. Again one more visit to him, he started treatments for swelling and I was able to walk after 10 long days. I am recovering from home now.

I will meet MediHope MD, to know the treatment and diagnosis they did in their hospital and plan to clear some doubts they wrote in my discharge summary after I am fully recovered.

The IP No. and UHID No. for this ailment at Medihope are 515 & 4105.

The discharge summary stated Viral Infection and allergic reaction to DYCLOFENAC; and then a CT scan finding which may not be directly related with the current symptoms; but wanted me to get diagnosed through a surgical procedure that may take aweeks hospitalization again.

My plan is to go for a diagnosis outside MediHope for that CT scan diagnosis and then follow-up with MediHope for the treatements they did for me.

Till then my case is for the allergic medicinal reaction that the authorities overlooked which made me ill for a month ruining my health, along with other personal difficulties, for a viral infection.
I was admitted in Medihope last week for a similar infection. The doctors in medihope got all my tests done. And with the right medication given i was discharged in 3 days . I infact referred 2 of my colleagues to medihope and both of them were satisfied with the services of Medihope Hospital. Since i work in CV raman nagar, this hospital was the closest and i am happy that we have a good hospital in our residential area.
I was admitted in Medihope. very worst service they have given us. I am seeing different kind of things happening going on there. If any one want to go for checkup or any patient admit, Better to go for any good diagnostics center.
