[Resolved]  National Savings certificate — Non-receiving of matured amount and improper handling of the issue

I had taken 6- year National Savings Certificates nos. 6NS/45EE 060214,6NS/45EE 060215,6NS/45EE 060216 of Rs.10000 each of Joint 'B' type on holders' names of Mr.J.V.S.N.Murthy and Mrs.M.V.Umabala at post office of issue- Kalarangiatta s.o,755028 on[protected].The date of maturity was[protected].Upon maturity we submitted an application for return of the matured amount from Visakhapatnam Muralinagar post office- 530007.When the muralinagar post office sent the request to kalarangiatta post office,no reply was obtained for many days and when they sent a reminder they found that kalarangiatta post office misplaced the application. Our application was resent with my wife's signature as I was not in the country.Though the NSCs are of Joint B type,kalarangiatta post-office personnel refused to process the application insisting on signature of mine(one of the holders ) and my wife (the joint holder).This is again not processed till now.This application was sent 3 months ago.They are now insisting on fresh application.As I am staying out of India,it is not always possible to get both the signatures and the rule does not insist on both the signatures.Every time I send the application to the post office it is costing me close to Rs.800.I request that the problem be resolved at the earliest and the matured amount be returned with interest on the matured amount and also request on a strict disciplinary action be taken on the kalarangiatta post office personnel so that the customers do not need to spend so much time and money to get their own investment back.
