[Resolved]  Nokia 1661 - 2 — warranty Handset received unrepaired from Nokia

I Purchased a Nokia 1661 handset on 23rd Jan 2010 from Faridabad, It was working fine. But 0n 5th February when the phone was kept in on of the bag and when we took it out its screen was not working properly. On 6th Feb i Visited Nokia Care centre ASC: 107_433527 and on checking the phone said that the screen is physically damaged and shall not be covered under warranty, As there was no sign of physical damage and it was not damaged physically so i was not ready to accept this statement but after lot of discussion when they were not ready to listen to this , i agreed to pay for the repair charges as i was not having any other option left with me. Rs. 650 was estimate given to me for repair of this handset. After Keeping phone for two weeks by centre i got call from NOkia care that this phone can not be repaired as there is some problem in the chipset of this phone and they returned the phone to me , and charged e Rs. 50 as service charges. After two weeks o[censored]se only my phone has become dump now. My Question is if my phone is under warranty then why it can’t be repaired if there is problem with this model and it can not be repaired then why this information is not give to customer when they buy these phones that this model is like chinese phones which are like use and throw. I shall request you to please either get my handset repaired or provide me a replacement phone. I am ready to bear the cost of the screen which is as per you is physically damaged.

i totally agree with this complaint. i bought a new nokia 1661 on May 7th, 2010. the dealer didnt switch in the mbl and told me to switch it on after 8 hrs of battery charge. when i did charge, i found a peculiar sign on the screen and i removed from the electric point. when i took the mbl to the dealer, he says the display has been broken. the mbl was not dropped and not even a scratch on the exterior. i am having a war with the dealer but he is not listening and also i found the board in the mbl is short-circuited( when i showed the mbl to a service centre, they told me). so much for want to buy a branded mobile with hard earned money. I want to get a replacement for the same.

i just got a replacement for my faulty nokia 1661. they have replaced me nokia 2626 and asked me to pay rs.350 extra ( service charge and extended warranty)
after more fights and arguments, i have received a replacement, though i am not happy with the model. still i got atleast some value for the money i paid.

SO PEOPLE BE FIRM WITH THE AUTHORITIES AND DONT HESITATE TO APPROACH CONSUMER COURT IF THEY ARE NOT READY TO ACCEPT THEIR FAULT. AS CONSUMERS WE HAVE TO MAKE SURE THE PRODUCTS WE BUY ARE WORTHY OF ITS PRICE
When it comes to prepaid phones, manufacturers make mostly entry level handsets. Nokia 1661 is a basic phone from T-Mobile. There is nothing special about the design and this device is made just for making calls. I won’t recommend using this as your primary phone simply because it is seriously lacking in features. The exterior feels really cheap due to its plastic body and the controls too are a bit difficult to use. Call quality is pretty average. The cost of this phone is $19 and the low cost is the only plus point of this phone

In my phone 1661 model nokia . i purchased it on 29/01/10 from the shop of moorty &sons in hyderabad . tin no iz [protected] it worked properly till 20/11/10 .but after that it slipped from my hand.and after that i gave it for repair in s.s electronics(NOKIA CARE)(secunderabad)bill no 22294 date 27 /11/10 because itz screen waz broken .they took 450 from me but there was warrarty period for that phone.they said that there was no warranty for display screen.thay repaired it and gave it to me . it waz not repaired properly .when i inserted the sim .it was showing that "insert the sim".i again went to the same shop.they took 250 for the repair .they told that the sim IC was repaired.the bill no waz 17/12/10. 24224.ss electronics(NOKIA CARE). again it waz repaired and given to me .then when tried to call it waz not going .but incoming calls are coming .plz take action on this .(NOKIA CARE) iz not giving warranty and proper repair.
