Nokia N82 — Poor Quality handset and poor after sales services

A bitter firsthand experience with Nokia N82...

Hey friends! Beware now Nokia is losing on its quality as well as after sales services. I brought my new N82 as such two months back but it actually remained with me only for maximum of two weeks and since then it’s with Nokia Care as it had started giving trouble just after one and a half weeks of purchase and that too just with basic and very careful usage of the handset and till date things are only in air, I am roaming week after week to Nokia Care for my handset but no progress.

Though they had passed my phone back after keeping it for a week's time claiming that all needed rectification has been done when I had deposited it for the first time but then I had to re-submit it the next day as the problem remained the same with handset, some virus had caught it so was getting switched on & off on its own.

And since then every time I call or visit Nokia Care they say it’s under inspection to check for the problem completely and finally after one month I get to know it’s out of repairable form so it would get a swap handset and to my utmost surprise I won’t even get a new packed handset which I should have, being my new handset giving trouble from the beginning, but I would be getting same model but not a packed one from their unit but even that commitment has not been met till date as every time I visit them after each week on the due date they claim to be running short of stock so it’s getting delayed.

Now I am waiting for the next due date which is going to be next week, hoping if I could get some value back in that handset for the twenty thousand rupees spent by me on Nokia N82.

Had been just one case I would have been Ok, but one more handset of Nokia, 6500 slider my aunty had, was giving some trouble from second month onwards and similarly got back to Nokia Care and just few days back she got a replacement of the same, a second hand used same model handset.

I used to be a big fan of Nokia and its products, was a loyal customer of Nokia from years, used to never make a try for any other brand but this experience was so bitter that I don't think I shall ever go in for Nokia again.

As such its a technical product which can come up with a problem but had they handled things well, I would have not turned so much against Nokia.

So, I would recommend please give some second thought if you intend to go for a Nokia handset purchase next time.

Subject : Complaint regarding N82 handset


I have a concern which I need to put forward. My name is Julie Mascarenhas I was gifted a handset of my choice and very soon happend to be a proud owner of a N82 handset .Its been 10 years now I have never compromised on any other brands other than Nokia as it has always been my priority and it has given me 100 % satisfaction, and till the last year I didnt face any issues with any of the previous Nokia handset .Sorry to say this time im totally taken aback as it is the first time Nokia has created a piece has made me to think twice in future if would continue to go ahead n rely on the quality of Nokia products . I have gone through a lot a torture n pain the moment I got the N82 handset in my hand .

The handset was purchased from FONEMAN- at address 17/18 Mangalkunj, Opp Indraprashtha Shopping Center, Borivali West, Mumbai 92.with Invoice number as 2642 dated 16/8/2008 .It has been six months that I owned this mobile, but have hardly got an opportunity to use it continously., Most of the time it has gone for repairs in the service center.and I get it back only after 15 days .The issue I face with this handset is mostly no display and hanging issues, and headset unclear. The headset has been permantly rectified after giving it once for repairs, but mobile hanging and display still continues to exist.When my phone use to come back from the service center I personally tried all posibilities to avoid my mobile from hanging, like tried not inserting my memory card, not going to any site thru my cell etc, but still problem continues to exist. There are times I have to continously remove and put the battery back again inorder to let it work in urgency. It has been the 4th time this piece has gone for repairs with the same issue .My warranty period is almost getting passed away with no results till date. I am a working woman with busy scheduled so have to wait for my days off inorder to get my phone serviced. Most of the time my phone is lying dead till my next trip to the service center. My detail of complaint are as follows:

I dont think I should be logging so may complaints for having my new phone, which is under warranty and in proper condition work effeciently. This is the first time I am writing to a company regarding a complaint, as its time consuming .Im forced to make time to write to u as, Im completly surprised about the change in the standards of Nokia . I do hope ul will look into this matter urgently and find a fair solution to my problem. Im completly frustrated using the N82 .and would not want to go time and again to the service center .hpe u will consider this case with high priority n either give me a refund or replace it with a new cell with new warranty period . Please make sure if N82 handset that ul created is still goin to have the same issue again please suggest or send me a different model. l will be more that happy, as I would not like to go through the same thing again as its very frustrating.Since.my cell is again gone for repairs I continue to use my old cell which is a nokia 6270 which has been repaired only once and not given any major issues. Sometime I think why did I have a new mobile.Hope u consider my problem and look into the matter and provide a satisfactory solution where in future I can continue to rely on NOKIA

In my n82 i can't play video or audio songs and can't download by using internet.
