[Resolved]  Pan Card — Individual

As per a status report received on 20.11.2008 under acknowledgement Number [protected], it seems I was allotted a PAN AHWPV0009R and also stating that my Pan Card has been sent on 15.10.2008 by Post to my address but I have not yet received the PAN card till date. I would like to request the NSDL to re-issue and send to me, or to refund the fee if incapable to re-issue.

In case of applying for a Housing loan/ personal loan or a Car loan from various Financial Institutions/Banks, etc., a PAN Card Number is always insisted. It would be well understood that the Scheduled Tribes are exempted from paying the Income Tax to the Govt. of India but annual Professional Tax, if in a State Govt. Service, is paid to the State Govt.

In such situation, whether Non-PAN holders are debarred from the aforesaid facilities ? A brief clarification to the doubt indicated above may kindly be intimated. Also indicate the grounds for which a PAN Card is compulsorily required.
