[Resolved]  Parmar Hospital Ropar Punjab — Death due to Gross Negligence of doctors

Address:Rupnagar, Punjab

My mother 65 year of age was admitted to this Hospital on 7/6/2010 for removal of calculus(10x6mm) in the right ureter. Doctor BPS Parmar and Dr. Rajesh Gulia of Kidney hospital Chandigarh operated the patient on 7th of June and told that surgery is successful and calculus has been removed. Patient was complaining of severe pain in the right kidney after the surgery . Patient was discharged on 9th of June with pain. As the pain was more the patient again visited the hospital on 11th of June . Doctor BPS Parmar did not check the patient and told us that he forgot to tell that a stent has been inserted in the ureter and that could be a cause of the pain , and said that stent shall be removed on 14th of June. The patient again visited the same hospital on 14th of june for removal of the stent. Doctor BPS Parmar removed the stent and discharged the patient just after two hours. But the condition of the patient was deteriorating day by day. The patient again visited the same hospital on 16th night, but the doctor did not investigate the root cause of the problem and gave pain killers. On 17th the condition of the patient further deteriorated and had a fever and vomiting. The patient again visited the same hospital on 17th morning . Dr. BPS Parmar again prescribed pain killer and conducted blood/urine test. TLC was 12400 in the morning ,but he gave only one antibiotic and kept the patient without medication for the whole day.In the evening the condition of the patient further deteriorated and blood pressure dropped to 80/60. Dr. BPS Parmar put center line for stabilisng the blood pressure but in vain. He referred us to FORTIS Mohali at 2.30 am on 18th of June. At Fortis they conducted CT scan and reported that calculus 3mm was lying in the right kidney and multi calculi (8x13mm) were lying in right ureter which prooved that Dr. Parmar did not remove the calculus and made the case more complicated by breaking the calculus in to pieces and kept on hiding the facts from the patient for eleven days . At Fortis the doctors tried thier best but unfortunately the patient died on 19th June at 10.15 am due to septic shock . The doctors at Fortis told us that the root cause of death is severe infection in the right ureter track and kidney due to wrong procedure done at Parmar Hospital Ropar. We lost a healthy person due to doctor's negligency. At Fortis doctors also told us that the stent must be checked for any infection at the time of removal from the ureter which was not done . We paid Rs. 25,000 to doctor Parmar for the surgery which was not done as per the Fortis reports. We also paid Rs. 2,00,000 as a medical expenses in Fortis and finally lost the member. This is case of gross negligency . My contact number is [protected] my e mail id is nst.[protected]@gmail.com

Such type of doctors should be behind the bars so that they cannot play with the life of other patients.
I have lost my father to medical negligence. i have been fighting to get justice for his death. He was 47 years old. I am looking for support from people who have had similar experience or who can definitely help.

If you can please email me. I have tried going to court but the lawyers and the lack of knowledge of the legal system I have lost time and all our money.

Any help to support me fight for justice in court is highly appreciated.
pls approached the cosumer court in your district...
dont give one sided story
Parmar Hospital Ropar is a recognized hospital for its ethical professional and compassionate services in the area for the last 33 years. It is doing its bit to serve the society in best possible professional manner. During these years it has an impeccable record of service which is recognized professional by all the doctors in the state and outside the state. the patients treated have always left satisfied. it is regret that few of the comments in this blog are without any foundation.
Credentials of the doctors and management of Parmar hospital in Ropar should be scrutinized by the competent authorities. We too had a harrowing experience there when we took my grandfather for treatment there. They kept him in their so called "ICU" without any medication and care. Suspecting the staff's behavior, my dad insisted and visited my grandfather in ICU, my grandfather, who was not in a position to speak, just clasped my dad's hand and tears started rolling down his expressionless face. We immediately got him moved to a different place. Later my grandfather told us that no doctor or nurse ever saw him in the ICU. We were charged for the "care" they provided.
i do not agree.the doctors are more than Gods.
My father with many complications, open heart surgery, with pace maker and suffering from chronic blood sugar problems was saved and almost brought back from jaws of death.
My aunty was on life support system in a hospital at Jallandhar when we shifted her to Parmar Nursing Home. After three days treatment she went back walking on her own. It was more than a miracle.
Therefore these doctors are working miracles and are more than God

The staff is unprofessional and very unsupportive...we go to private hospitals because we wish to get good care and extra vigilance on our patients that is the reason we are paying extra money to these private hospitals but PARMAR HOSPITAL STAFF IS UNEDUCATED TYPE AND TALKS TO PATIENTS AND THEIR ATTENDANTS IN A VERY RUDE MANNER. BY DUPING THE VILLAGE AND INNOCENT PEOPLE THEY HAD MADE THEIR MARKET IN ROPAR...

RS parmar and BPS parmar are more on politics now days and i think they have made enough money to live luxurious lives and don't care for the patients coming to their hospitals...

the people who has given comments on their side above are seems to be theirs pawns...

i personally don't advise anyone to visit Parmar Hospital...
I was Surprised on seeing these comments. They seem to be highly motivated. I am sure there will be hardly any household in this region which is not aware about the kind of service. .Dr Parmar has been rendering to the community all these years, and how efficiently his son has taken over the reigns of the hospital. I personally know this family for more than 30 years now and not even once did I ever feel their approach towards their patients as casual, leave aside negligent. I have got my mother and sister operated from this hospital besides tons of relatives and friends and they all praise the doctors and the hospital like anything. They are highly trained professionals who are trying to provide quality care at an affordable cost. The hospital is known for the fact that even if you do not have a penny in your pocket you can get yourself operated there. A Place like Ropar does have its limitations and of course we don’t expect five star facilities in such a set up. Mishaps can occur anywhere and with anybody but that does not mean that we totally forget the millions of people who have benefitted from the efforts these doctors. As far as this particular case is concerned. I personally feel that this gentleman is telling only one side of the story. I would like to know that if he was such an aggrieved party, Did he go to the court? And if he did what did the court decide.
