[Resolved] Passport Office Pune — Corruption in Pune Passport Office | |||
Date 22nd July 2011, I Just want to share what i face and saw today at Pune Passport Office, I applied for Tatkal Passport and after 22 days i have not received my Passport, When i was go for inquiry after 3 hours in a Que i was met Mr. J K Desai (DPO) when i told him my problem his behavior with me and others are very ridiculous and arrogant, I left the office with poor feeling, My friend suggest me take Agents help to get passport in time and given me Mr. Tamboli's Passport Agent No., Agent asked me his fees is 1800 to get passport in time, Due to my urgency i was ready for that, Today he called me at Passport office at 3 pm when i seat in the office i saw my agent he is doing his work like he is a owner of Passport Office means everybody Security to Smt S B Sawant (APO) people are talking and behaving with Agent like he is God for them at that office, After some time he came to me and told me 'Sahab se setting kara raha hoon kaam ho jayega aur jyada paise ki jarurat padi to bataunga' then he came again and told me your work is done take your Passport no. time 5.50.pm, He asked me wait for sometime, At 6pm most of the staff members are going for home and My Agent is distributing money to all supporting staff, per passport Rs100 for Superintendent level, and after that he is going in the Desai (APO) and Smt Sawant (APO) to distribute the money for the day. If One officer taken 500 for per Tatkal Passport so how much amount they will earn in a month from various Agents. This is a shocking experience for me in India;s External Ministry Dept. I know after this complaint or blog i don't have any hope this will recover in future, but today i feel this not my INDIA where me or my children will be proud to be a Indian, I deeply hearten this is not my India which was educated me in my School Days when we feel proud to see our flag on the event of 15th August & 26th January, common man and country is just a word for this kind of Rascals. I have sent more than 30 emails out of it over 25 Reminders, but there is no response, also no telephone is ever answered.
Soon I am going to ask 1. Reasons for the delay in the process 2. Reasons for not answering the Telephones, 3. Reasons for not replying to emails. under RTI and then I am further going to appeal to RTI with the information provided by RPO Pune.
Please advise on this at the earliest please.

Your experience is really depressing but keep the hope that slowly things are changing and accountability is coming into system, , You did a good job by sharing this with us, , we all face this kind of experience occasionally but keep the hope.
Today 24th Feb, 2016, I had an appointment to the Mudhwa office in regards to my passport renewal. There was an issue with the name, as, my name had changed after marriage.
I was sent to APO as I had the Adhar card bearing the old passport address, along with the old passport. Even if the adhar card had my old passport address, the name was that after marriage. I was carrying my marriage certificate as well.
I understand that all the documents should be in place and if the APO says that the documents cannot be processed by so and so reason, I am fine with it.
As I was about to leave without any argument or anything, the assistant of the APO and the APO started mocking me and saying see such people come and do such foolish steps. They asked me my qualification to which I replied I am a BE (I.T) graduate. To that they further mocked me saying you must have studied in a municipality school!!!
I am shocked at this behaviour of the APO head. They should be taught some basic steps of manners and courtesy. Yes if something cannot be processed, they can tell it. People are mature enough to understand that. But humiliating someone, is really terrible.
I politely told her mam, my parents are super class one officers. Please don not humiliate people. You have done that to me, please do no do it with anyone else. If anything is wrong or cannot be processed just tell it. That's it.
I left the room with tears in my eyes.
Please look into this matter. Its like these bunch of ladies are quite stressed out and need some help.

I agree very arrogant and rude behaviour. they think they are the gods and people have come there to seek their blessings. Very unprofessional behaviour. APO head and the bunch of ladies are the worst ever!
