[Resolved]  Nokia Care — poor service and excess service charges

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a resident of Gandhidham, a town in Kutch District of Gujarat, India. Some days back I had encountered some audio related problems in my Nokia N72 handset.

For troubleshooting, I had approached the Nokia care centre - run by M/s.Sainath Mobile care , shop No.D-43,Chawla Chowk,Gandhidham,Phone: [protected].

I was explained that there was some problem in the handset due to liquid damage .I had asked the nokia care to properly investigate the matter and to let me know about the types of problems that existed and to give me the budget for repair.

My job sheet no. is[protected]/071205/8 dated :05.12.07 time:13:19

I was told that all the problems would be solved and that the approximate cost would be in the range of Rs.650-750.

I was handed over my set on the next day i.e 06.12.07 with an assurance that all the problems have been sorted out and that the set is ok now.

I was then asked to pay Rs.850 and was also not given any cash receipt .

My grievances are as follows:

1) The nokia care did not pre-inform me that they would check my software and that the contacts in my handset should be saved. Due to no communication I have lost more than 400 contact nos - some of which were really very very important to me.
2) I feel that the nokia care has charged excessively from me and have also not given any cash receipt even after several requests.

3) Just 3-4 days after I had taken the delivery , I notcied that the problem related to Bluetooth in my handset was not rectified by them. I once again approached them for the rectifictaion and was shocked to know that I was once again asked to repay Rs.1000 for the repair of Bluetooth services.

I feel that the nokia care ( managed by Sainath Mobile care) is not giving correct services and is dealing in unethical practices. Apart from charging non-standardised rates for repair work , they demand anyamount as per the customer.

I therefore request your goodself to kindly look into the matter and ensure that appropriate justics is given to my case.

Looking forward to hear from you all very soon.

Regards,

CA.Sumeet Singhania,
Gandhidham.

I think the complain seems to be genuine for the following obvious facts:

1) The nokia care should have informed the customer that the contact nos are reequired to be stored in some other memory. Generally customers are not aware abt the fact that informtaion in the handlset is lost once teh software is opened.

2) Nokia care should give valid cash receipt for repair charges. The Job sheet also nowhere contains teh details of repair estimates. Possibly there is a risk of revenue evasion on the pretext of noncharging of service tax component.

3) The bluetooth problem should have been indicated to teh customer in advance and now the same should be repaired at no additional cost.

The above are personal opinion on the sited complaint.

Wishing the compliananat all the best!

Regards,

Mr.Amit Barot
