[Resolved]  Professional Couriers — Did not make door delivery. Had to collect from their office.

Consignment Note# BLR74693011. The letter was delivered at a pickup point in Gaurav Nagar, J P Nagar 7th Phase, Bangalore, on 13.4.13. It was addressed to my son undergoing ayurvedic treatment at a private ayurvedic clinic at Edapetti, Near Kalpetta, Wyanad, Kerala. On 16.4.13, my son got a call from the Professional Courier or their Franchisee's office at Kalpetta, Wayanad, Kerala, to collect it from their Pinangode Road Office. My wife who was with my son at that time told them that he is under treatment and so not possible to go to their office and collect it. They replied that their delivery boy do not go to that area, so not possible to make home delivery. Finally I requested a friend and he went and collected it. As far as I understand, a courier agency is paid Rs 40/- or Rs 60/- to home deliver the letter or parcel and not to order the addressee to come and collect it from their location. Almost every week, I send letters or parcels to different destinations in India and it is delivered promptly at the home address without delay. I don't understand why Professional Couriers partner such lousy franchisees in Kerala who do not have adequate manpower to service their clients. If this is the case, why do they charge Rs 40/- or Rs 50/- which is for doorstep delivery. If they can't make home delivery, the client should be informed about it at the pickup point. I now understand that in many areas in Kerala, Professional Courier has such franchisees just to pocket the money without any service. This is a clear case of cheating. They should find a way out to improve their working. Otherwise, they will lose their credibility. Ofcourse, people who have experienced these types of situations, will never go back to them again. It won't take long for people to understand that our good old Speed Post is faster and more dependable, rather than rely on professional courier franchisees in Kerala.
