Punjab National Bank, Sukhrali, Gurgaon — Staff misconduct and neglect duty

Refer to pnb branch 314500 and my customer no.[protected]. I issued cheque for 9 lac vide cheque no. 524043 dt 25 Mar 11, and got sms on 29 Mar 11 that cheque returned as unpaid. Toll free number rep when contacted, stated that they have no clue about it..and asked me to contact the branch. Tried to contact branch, the phone keeps ringing but no one answers, a usual phenomenon. Once with great difficulty when got connected the staff from other end sounded harrased and depressed with his work and ignored to answer my query and said he will check it without even asking for my account number.. I checked back after sometime around 1730 hrs again from the same member (phone number [protected] who replied rudely that "do you expect me to tell you in the night time now??"

When I checked the cheque status on internet, it shows "un-used" and no reason. for retured unpaid..

I am a senior citizen, and its not possible for me to approach personally every time for each small and all such queries..whats the use of phone/ contact numbers/ toll free numbers/ internet banking services..if a customer cannot get aswers to queries..and the staff is rude and behaves in most irresponsible manner..

I think there has to be system where these greivances are looked into and the staff reprimanded for thier mis-conduct and eglecting the customers..
