My name is Ramya Kamesh. I reside in Besant Nagar since 2004. My parents have been residents of the area since 1991. I buy sugar from the ration shop which is at T.U.C.S herein Ward no 152. My card no. is 02/W/0104358 and in my mother's name, Mrs. Mangalam Krishnamurthy.
In May 2010, I was told that some one had come for verification of our names and we did not reside here. We gave our address and identity proof then.
In September 2010, we were denied any supply of sugar on the count that someone had come for verification in August and we had shifted and moved to some other place!
Subsequently we were asked to fill an application with identity and address proof once again and submit it at Mylapore office.
I want to know who is this person who came for verfication.
Why wasn't any note left saying he had come for verification?
I would like to bring to your notice that there was always someone present at the premises for questioning. Why weren't the neighbours contacted? What proof is there that someone came for checking? All our neghbours know us and there is no possibility of anyone having said we had shifted to some other place.
To my utter surprise, there were innumerable such genuine cases at the Mylapore office with similar woes!
Why should we be penalised and our supplies be denied to us when we have done nothing wrong?
There was an announcement in the news on TV saying over several lakhs of faulty ration cards have been seized! Is this the way the job is done? Was this information helpful? |
