[Resolved]  Redington India Ltd - Redington Group - Redington Blackberry — Ripped off Rs.730 and finally spoiled my brand new 1 month old Blackberry

I had purchased my Blackberry Gemini 8520 from a mobile store in Chennai and only after purchase I knew it was a officially unlocked device and not a usual Airtel Blackberry, I was upset at first as I have nearly 3 years of experience with Blackberry service at Airtel and its just awesome they do it so professionally. I used a Rs.999 (approx. USD $20) worth cover for the phone from case mate, after a month and few days the display brightness diminished to very low level and I had taken it to the Redington India Ltd. service center in T.Nagar and they told me about the Rs.730 charge if there is water lodged in the device and I was 100% sure that there isn't any possibility for the same, so I gave my device for service and was waiting for about 2 weeks and I received a call from them saying there was water lodge in my device and they want me to pay Rs.730 to get the device back and the most important thing is that the device isn't serviced. I was like what the hell? Why would I pay these cheats the money just to open and take look at it and return? These people don't have the basic common sense that if I had known there is water why would I give it for service to pay Rs.730 unnecessarily? I would rather go to private service center and get it done for same price or something additional, finally they sent me some fake snap shots of water damage and stuff. I doubt if they had done it on their own to rip off the money. Today I got the device back and the display totally doesn't work. They spoiled it even more. Blackberry has to stop sending officially unlocked devices let the people get good service from Airtel, Reliance and other service providers. Never from these local Redington guys, I wonder if they have ever seen a Blackberry phone, these guys would only have experience in spoiling local basic phones like Nokia, Motorola etc. Now giving the service order to these guys Blackberry is spoiling its reputation in India. I need a brand new device and also my Rs.730 to be returned and I am not going to live them till then.

People beware of these guys. Redington India Ltd is totally a fraud company. Redington India Ltd rips off the money and spoils your device. Redington Group has to replace my device and pay me my Rs.730 back. Redington Group has to stop the scam in the name of service Blackberry devices. Redington India Ltd should no longed be an authorized company to service Blackberry devices. Blackberry has to stop the contract right away.

Is case mate a product of blackberry ? Have they asked you to use that ?
and where is Redington's service center in T.Nag ?
They have 1 in alwarpet & another one in Chetpet.

Are you sure that there is no other cause ? Display prob would come if you drop your blackberry down, and in case you keep it inside the pocket.

If charging 730 rupees is a crime, then would u say most laptop companies charging >2k to just check whats the prob ? Have you ever experienced that ? Im sure you havent and thats why barking like this blaming ppl...

Myself, Jaydeep Mehta, residing in India. I have purchase Blackberry 9530 Storm from Yash Electronics, Jamnagar, Gujarat, India on 12/01/10, who claims to be the Authorized Dealer of Blackberry. There is a problem in handset Touch screen. At few locations it is not sensing. As the handset is under warranty, I had given it to Yash Electronics on 11/10/2010 for repairing purpose. I am Manager in Reliance Industries Ltd and am suffering immensely on account of not having a blackberry hand-set. The same has resulted in pecuniary losses apart from causing inconvenience. It is already two month but I had not received my hand-set and also the proprietor of M/s. Yash Electronic is not able to tell me when will I get back my hand-set?
Even my three friends had also purchased the same model hand-set after my recommendation. Is it the service you give to the customer? Even after two month I don't know when will I get my handset back? Also Redington say they have not received handset. It seems I should aproach Consumer Court and ensure that bonafide consumers are not cheated by either Blackberry or their Authorized Dealers. Really it seem that I mad a mistake by purchasing Blackberry handset

Issue Unresolved, No Support from Service Center

This is Nipun Mittal. I have a blackberry Bold 9700 which I purchased in Dec 2010.

On 1st April 2011, I had deposited my Phone to Gurgaon Service Center for Blackberry.

Please find the receipt and Bill attached.





The mobile had gone to the repair lab and returned to me on 11th April saying the issue has resolved.

This is very painful to follow up and go on iterating the mobile again and again.

All the issues which I had pointed out in the first place are still there.

Issues:

1. Hanging Issue: My Cell Hangs atleast 5-6 times in a day.

2. Display Issue: While talking on Phone or playing music, the screen goes blank. even though the phone is on. Then I have to physically remove the battery to get the phone into Reset.

3. Battery Usage: Consumption is so high that the battery last 4 hours only

4. Wifi Stops Working and message pops up : Exception Error and some no.

5. Keypad types faulty alphabets. Like if I wish to press A, it puts P on the doc.


Request BlackBerry/Redington to help close this matter. It is quintessential for my job to have blackberry at all times. your timely help in providing a DOA or replacement would be great.

I have already had my slog to service center, but this iteration is time consuming and not fair
I gave my blackberry TORCH for rectifying the alarm not working by work order no DEL/BB/11/01040.
Customer care told me ot was a 2hr job to set the operating system, but the centre took my phone, I dont know when I will get it back, no response to email and can never get through on their tele no.
Absolutely disgusting for a cell phone only 3 months old

Complaint regarding for the black berry model no 8520. There is a call dropping problem in phone and memory card format automatic, all the data were corrupted and service center were not responding on that. This is the second time I am facing the problem in blackberry phone.

I bought a BB Bold 9900 bearing IMEI number [protected] from Jumbo Electronics Pune India on Oct 29th 2011. I upgraded from BB 8820. I have been a fan of BB and used my earlier phone till Oct 2011. Within few days after purchase of BB 9900 i realized that something is wrong with the phone. That later turned out to be a big problem. It used to hang frequently and if someone calling, there will be no ring sound. I can see on the display that a call is coming but no sound and if i receive it, no voice of the caller, though the call is connected. I missed several important calls. The other problem, the phone is mostly in SOS mode. On the same location i see SOS in BB and if i take out the SIM and insert in other brand phone, it shows good strength signal. I tested this at several locations at different times. I constantly kept the device software up to date using desktop software. Still the problems persisted.
I visited the authorized service provider in India, Redington, and they upgraded the software. From then on the hanging thing is less frequent. It hanged only once after the upgrade. Upgrade was done on 22nd Dec 2011. However the SOS thing is still continuing. I am not writing to get a solution in terms of software upgrade. I am writing to raise serious concerns that BB should have attended before releasing the product in market. Was this product not tested thoroughly before release? I see other customers are also frustrated as i read on discussion board. I did not buy this phone to keep myself busy with software upgrade issues and visiting Redington service center. I bought this expensive phone because i expected the best performance and value for my money. Now that the inconvenience is unbearable and it has already caused a significant loss to me, i want to return this phone. And i want my money back.
I have the original bills box and all standard accessories. Pls let me know how to initiate the refund process.
hi i m kunal sheth i had purchased bold 9700 blackberry from mumbai. my handset was working properly but after some months i got problem in track pad n volume button n for that i got my handset replaced according to redington they issued me new handset but same problem persist. for one n half month till now my handset is with them still i m fighting for it. i mailed to excelation department n also regional department but of no use no respone i m getting now wat to do pls suggest some 1 n how i wud go legally n fight for my right i have bill n all accessories of handset
Redington service centres are useless and cheats.Very recently I had a problem with my trackpad and one more key of my blackberry 9700.Except that everything was fine till than.Now I received mail from them stating that there is a water damage.Now they are giving me back phone which is not at all in a working condition.And I am not able to start it as well.I could have repaired it outside the street side repair shops are much more genuine than these guys.But now they have in the name of servicing have damaged my handset. I have not taken it back and have told them to give it back in the same condition I have submitted. But they have denied. I am now taking route of consumer forum and other social networks and blackberry office to complaint against them till I get my handset back in the same condition or compensation for the same.
Kindly help me if anyone have some other better option to sort this out.
