Redington India customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
It took almost 6 months for the replacement to be done for me. I contacted Google Support multiple times with the case-ID follow-up regarding the replacement, they told they have already transferred the case to Redington since they handle the replacements in India. Unfortunately, Redington never contacted or mailed me. Google support asked me to check my inbox, spam folders thoroughly as Redington's status was notified to them as "Waiting for customer to collect the replacement". But I denied it as there was no notification from Redington at all. Redington's contact numbers, mail ids proved to be unreachable all times. After 6 months, on contacting Google support again, they asked me to walk-in to Redington's office and check (as I'm based in Chennai). Even their office address in their websites proved to be wrong. After finding the right address, I did walk-in and found that Redington never carters replacements directly and I was asked to contact Google back about this. I contacted Google Support after so much of frustration and this time, the humble agent promised me a top-level escalation of the case and I would be contacted within 48 hours or else can revert back to the same mail from Google. I had less hopes but to my surprise, I had received a mail from one of the executives of 'Proconnect Reverse Logistics Centre (A Subsidiary of Redington India Ltd.)' titled "Google DOA Replacement". In the mail, I was asked to walk-in to the warehouse with my defective device along with its original contents of packing and a copy of the mail with my ID for verification. Alternatively, I had the option to courier my device to the mentioned address in the mail after 48 hours of which I would receive my replacement. But I opted for the walk-in in order to receive a faster in-hand replacement, The warehouse of Proconnect Logostics was located some 60mi from my location. They have given the POC details in the mail so I could confirm my arrival and the process went for some half-an-hour. I returned my defective device and was handed over a new one as replacement. Its been a week now and this is my long tale on the replacement process.
I suggest you to wait sometime and expect a mail from Proconnect or contact Google support and let them know Redington is unreachable at the point. Thank You
