[Resolved]  Sahara India Financial Corporation Ltd. — Death help against A/c No. [protected]

Dear Sir

An investment was made in your organization on 16.03.2003 in the name of my mother Mrs Lalima Roy for which the captioned A/C No. was given against the investment of Rs. 181665.00 only.

But unfortunately, my mother Mrs. Laima Roy (A/C holder) had expired on 26.12.2007 due to liver metastasis. For which we have given a formal intimation to Sahara India, Baheri branch.

As per product features, we have applied for death help claim against the captioned A/C No.

After that we are being advised to submit some papers. So, we have submitted all the desired papers to Sahara India, Baheri Branch in the month of March’08. The details are mentioned below (papers which is submitted in March ‘ 08).

1. Claim form from Both Nominee
2. Indemnity Bond of both the Nominee
3. Medical treatment papers
4. Death certificate issued by Municipality attested by Gazettes)
5. Death certificate issued by Hospital
6. Generation certificate issued by Block.
7. Affidavit by both the claimant
8. Affidavit regarding name of the A/C holder as there is some
misprint in the name
(All the papers submitted is duly attested by both the claimant)

All the above mentioned requirements was submitted to the Sahara India, Baheri Branch.

And again in the month of May’08, it was communicated verbally by Sahara India Baheri Branch to submit the age proof of the A/C holder. So, we have also submitted the School Leaving certificate (attested by Gazettes) in June’08 for further process.

We are doing the regular follow-up to the then Branch Manager of Sahara India, Baheri Branch and every time we are being ensured that claim was under process and will be settled at the earliest.

As we belong to rural areas, we are just satisfied whatever was being communicated by the Branch Manager. Once we were also conveyed that claim had been settled and the claim amount will be started at the earliest.

But this was just the cheating by the Branch Manager, Baheri Branch. As there is nothing like that. Whatever the papers has been submitted by us, has not been processed at all for settlement of claims.

When we do the follow-up to the Regional Office, Sahara India, Darbhanga, they have confirmed that no such type of claim papers has been received by Regional office. This is the serious negligence by the Sahar India Baheri Branch / Officers.

That for the first time, after a long period of one and half years, an official letter from Sahara India Baheri Branch was being received in the Sahara India Baheri Branch Premises on 24.07.09 mentioning some further requirements for settlement of claims. (The requirement letter is being enclosed)

Again as per the requirement letter, we have submitted the below mentioned papers to Baheri Branch on 31.07.09. (details are mentioned below).

1. Individual Indemnity Bond by both claimants
2. Previous Treatment papers
3. Voters list of last three elections
4. Individual application from both claimants.
5. Declaration by Panchayat Sewak regarding misprint in name in the voter list.
(All the papers submitted is duly attested by both the claimant)

The most important part is : as per the claim form, Indemnity Bond is not at all required. Only affidavit is sufficient for this purpose. Indemnity Bond is used only when the nominee is minor. In spite of this, such type of requirement was called for.

Now, almost eight months has been elapsed form the time of requirement submitted (second time on 31.07.09), but still no satisfactory reply is given to me regarding the settlement of the claims.

We are doing regular follow-up with Mr. S N Sinha, Manager, Muzaffarpur Zonal Office and everytime it is being said by him that the hospital investigation is in process. I do not what kind of investigation is going on that takes more than two years to settle the claim. The place Patna (Mahavir Cancer Sansthan, Patna where the patient had been treated) is hardly one and half hours journey from Muzaffarpur but still no result has come up.

Right now, my all the claim papers is lying with Mr S N Sinha, Manager, Muzaffarpur Zonal Office.

It seems that Sahara India are following the avoiding prolonging tactic considering that the matter will die itself in due course of time.
