Scooty pep+ (Red color) was purchased from Ramkay Agencies, Adayar in the year 2007.

The vehicle is being regularly serviced and maintained in good condition apart from that
the vehicle is being serviced usually in reputed TVS Service center’s only i.e. Good will TVS and
SVS TVS service centre, Ambattur. Check service record.
My wife was driving this vehicle on road towards (JGVV) Jai Gopal Garodia Vivekananda
Vidyalaya in Avadi on 24.03.2012. When she was crossing Avadi bus stand, smoke started
coming out under the seat from the engine compartment, immediately she switched off the engine
and got down from the vehicle. Even then fire started coming out from the engine heavily, exactly
near the battery area and coil side. Public nearby controlled the fire by throughing mud. By gods
grace my wife got down and moved away from the vehicle and escaped miraculously, even then
my wife saree got punctured by three holes, luckily without knowing herself automatically fire got
suppressed in her saree. See after effect of fire and the vehicle condition is shown in below

Then the vehicle was thoroughly investigated by TVS service center i.e. VIJAY Motors,
Avadi and told that it may be due to coil or battery short. Though the vehicle was maintained in
good condition this should not happen at any cause.
Damaged items are listed below it can not be claimed from insurance since the damaged
items are not covered under insurance (United India Insurance – Insurance is under live up to
May 2012). You are requested to replace the damaged items with new one. Prize of the items
may please be waived to me.

6. Wiring kit -1 No.
7. Ignition coil -1 No.
8. Combined CDI -1 No. & + Labour charge .
Please look in to this matter very seriously and make vehicles design such that it should
not happen in future by way of implementing tamper/pool proof and ruggedness in future
productions.
