[Resolved]  steelco furniture — poor service and product

This is complaining against product and service, which I have taken last year from STEELCO furniture, 26 shakespeare sarani, kolkata 17. I have taken one dining table six setter model no. DE 215/201B at the rate of Rs. 15500 purchase date was 7 June 2008. They have given 1 year warranty period. It is my bad luck the one leg of the table was come out from the dining table just after the warranty period. Any way I have to bear the repair cost and the service charges.
On 22nd December 09 I call them to repair my table. They have made their query and told me, we have to look first what kind of table that was? Then again I am asking them how it will come out so early from the glass. At the time of purchase you are telling it will go six seven years but it has come out in the next year only. I was surprised and feel the table was not good enough to long last after six month there is rust on the frame. Any way that person is telling me this has to fix by lesser process and all that. It will take two day at least to fix and set the table. Ok I ask him to what was the cost for that all process. Then he said the service charges for the day is 250 only and if there is any kind of replace the thing it will cost you. I said to him ok you come and do the job.
After some days he calls me in the morning at 6.50 am, sir I am coming to your house to repair the table. And after coming he saw the table and asking me to give the money for purchase of aldratite, then I told him boss are you going to fix that one from aldratite only then he says yes, it will fix your table leg to the glass, then I have just loose my temper but I control at that time and told him boss I am giving you 250 per day for the service for this job , I will do myself only it does not need any kind of expertise am I a fool to give you 500 for two days and the 100 for the aldratite it is a kind of jok is it? When I call you people” you are telling that it was fix by lesser and all that where was all that” I am very much disappointed the company is not even providing advises the aldratite. At the time of purchase they were giving so much assurance that you just don’t worry about the goods and services we will every time for you. But I found nothing like that. I am ready to give the service charges but when he asked me to give the money for aldratite, I just decided not to repair the thing from them, and I find some other one for this job. But I want to convey the message to them you have loose your customer. Do necessary action against them.

Agree...totally. The products are BAD...
I had bought 2 Almiras, 1 steel and 1 wood, the steel one cought rust in initial couple of months only and the wooden one in any case very delicate...

centre table — table not ok

last month we bought the centre table, now one day suddenly i noticed that upper & lower both the glasses were seperate from the metal structure, i just touched the table to check , and glass was down on the floor , luckily glass was not broken, now it has to be seen imm. as it is very dangouras as the glass is kept seperately, and at the time of installation those persons were not aware of the installing procedure....

send somebody imm.[protected] urgent alraeady filed complaint on phone on sat. morning , but nobody turned up till now....

I've bought 1 steel Almira from Steelco. The quality was so bad that rust catches within 1 year. Steelco refused me to give any after sales service. It was our great fault to buy from this store. Don't ever go to this store.
I also experienced the same. I purchased an almirah with 5 yrs warranty within 9 months the locker went bad. eventhough five yrs free service is there those people refused to service the almirah. No body is ready to give any alternate solution also. worst service.

Till now they gave the worst service I got from any Furniture shops. I bought 3 chairs from them worth around 20, 000 INR and one of the chair's back broke within one month.

Now, they gave us warranty and told, for any issue, door service would be given. When I called them, they told "you have to come to shop-we do not talk on phone" and hung up. This happened thrice.

Then I went to their shop and wrote a complaint. They sent a person 7 days later to check the issue and that person asked for all the cost needed. When I called Steelco saying why do I need to pay any cost and if I have to pay, I could have gone to a local shop and get it done. Then the person told he will come back next day and from then I called them almost 15 times in 1.5 months to get nothing.

Everyday I call them, they tell that they are going to send a person within two days. Completely nonsense I must say.
Steelco Shakespeare Sarani is full of people who does not know how to behave.I had bought a Wardrobe in the month of Dec 2011 and on the delivery date i saw that one door was totally damaged.I had declined from taking delivery of the same but they insisted that a new door would reach along with the carpentar next day... but till date that has not happened.I had been to their shop n number of times and they are forwarding me to another distributor who has made the wardrobe... Till date their employees did not get back to me and i have lost all faith on this company and have stopped follow up as they are only their to mis guide us... i have finally decided to get it replaced at my own cost through a carpentar... i still have the complain chit which was given to them during delivery of the item... i will strongly suggest everybody not to go to Steelco Furnitures as they are nothing but cheaters... Since i had been to their branch a number of times i saw that the number of customer complains were very high and they just gave false promises to the clients... they even did not login complains in their register and just carried on with their dirty work of mis selling... Request all prospective buyers to strictly avoid Steelco for your own benefit... Dont get cheated there are others who will provide better products, after sales and more importantly respect your dignity...
Bought a recliner from Steelco & a centre table from Shakesspeare Sarani. The recliner has a place cut at the base where sponge is coming out, I declined delivery but they said that mechanic would reach next day. It has been 4 months now and I have called unlimited no of times but till date noone has come to even check out the exact problem. After that I was fool enough to buy a centre table and again found that the a part of the wodden base was broken and pasted with gum. Again I went about following up but till date no one has come to ceck the issue. Their shop should be immediately shut down. This should reach the highest levels and action needs to be taken on them. They are not worthy of doing business.
I had bought a bedroom set in Nov'12, till date the full set hasn't reached my home yet.The doors of the wardrobe are damaged & they said that it would be replaced when the carpenter comes to assemble the furniture but nothing was done.Every week when we ask for an update they are saying that it would reach by next week & it would be resolved.I am planning to file a case against them in the consumer forum.These guys cheat the customers & their after sales service is pathetic...least to say
