I had purchased a VIP suitcase(SKYLITE STROLLY 79, Serial No: AC0 - 049719, Bill no. 003307) from SYLCON(A Unit of ZAIN SHOES, H.K. Caltex, 349B/349C, Caltex Junction, Kannur-670001) on 10/05/2011 which they claimed is one of the best products of VIP in terms of its light weight and strength. This product is carrying a 5 years international warranty.
After my first travel itself the base of the suitcase developed a crack. I went back to them on 23/04/2012 to show this and requested a correction of the broken part. The response was very rude and the seller refused to take back the product even for a first investigation. Additionally they accused I would have broken the part.
Attitude of Indian businessmen towards consumers is changing day by day. One can feel the customer service only till the cash counter. Once a is product is sold the attitude of merchant is "its not my problem anymore and none of my business". The trust one can have on Indian brands is becoming zero because of the cheap service provided by these kind of outlets.
I might be one among a million who would have faced this problem and don't know if there would be any response to this complaint. But I want to take this opportunity to share and bring to all of your notice an incident that has happened to me. So think before you decide to buy a product from SYLCON KANNUR.
