TATA Indicom Broadband Services — Unauthorised debit of charges for value added services; non-communication; consequent suspension of service

I have a broadband service provided by Tata Indicom. Sometime in Sept.2009 the service provider, for reasons unknown to me, charged Rs.500 for "Online Backup" - a service provided only tobusinesses and not to personal users like me. Thereafter every month Rs.100 was debited to my account as "autorenewal charge". I did not receive any intimation of this till the 13th Dec.2009; when I got this intimation for the first time, I protested saying the whole thing was unauthorised. Meanwhile, my broadband account was "suspended as the balance was only Rs.2". After countless calls, the account was restored by reversing the "fee" for Nov. and Dec.2009. Now Tata Indicom refuses the refund the "fee" unauthorisedly collected from me for the earlier period as refunds cannot be processed beyond 45 days. One, there was no fee authorised in the first place; Two no intimation was given; Three, there was no intimation of the "45 days" rule. I seek redressal with compensation for the aggravation caused.

I had lodge a complaint in sanchar haat of nangloi, sunder vihar, 1504 and also GM office, but still there is no action taken by concerned officer i.e PRO

TATA Indicom — unauthorised debit in my account

Mobile phone no[protected] has been wrongly debited and I have not any call or any other thing.This was an unauthorised debit made on 30/01/10, on seeing that i have recharged my accounty for Rs,100/ This appears to hve been done miscievously and ony with the intention of getting some wrongful gain for the company.This appears to be one of the ways of getting unauthorised income for relecom companies by fleecing the customers.

I am sivakumaran. My father-in-law Mr. B.C. Sivakatacham use Tata Indicom prepaid mobile No.[protected] since 2007.
He is a lay man. He only attends the incoming & outgoing calls. He never know the other facility like SMS,Hello tunes
activation ect.

Unfortunately, without his knowledge, his mobile had a Hello tunes for several months for which you charges Rs.40/-pm.
At beginning of July 2010 he informed me about this one. I send a Messgage ‘UNSUB” to 12828 from his mobile and the hello
tunes service was disconnected. But within a week again the hello tunes service was activated in his mobile without his permission.
That time I spoke with you customer service executive. He said, in your mobile hello tunes service was activated and Rs.40/- was
debited in your account. We asked him, how the hello tunes service was activated in this mobile, for which he reply, a call from
a particular number, if you attend the call, hello tunes service will activated. We asked him to refund the amount, he said, sorry,
there is no possibility to refund the amount and you enjoy the hello tunes upto one month and deactivate by sending message to
12828. But, immediately we send the message’UNSUB’ to 12828 and the service was deactivated. We ask you, why you are sending calls
from such a number?. Most of the mobile sservice users are uneducated & lay man. They have no knowledge about this type’s fraud.
A person who wants to activate any value addition service, may conduct your customer care service and activate such desire service. Don’t activate the extra service fraudulently.


By[protected], again the hello tunes service was activated and Rs.40/- was debited in his account, same reply for refund of
our money. Who gives the rights to you for debit our account without our permission? We request you to refund the amount
debited in July-2010 otherwise definitely we will go to consumer court for refund and compensation towards wastage of time
and energy.
