Tata Indicom — Harassment in taking the lost mobile complaint

The mobile of my colleague was lost hence I was trying to get the calls temporarily blocked on that number. After asking some intial quentions I was asked to hold as the line was to be transferred to the supervisor. The supervisor took almost 7 minutes to pick-up the phone. He then asked my name in which the connection was registered and the billing address. This information was provided to him by me. However, then he asked the last billed amount. I told him that this is in the name of company so the last billed ammount of the company would not be known to me. He kept on insisting and refused to take my temporary disconnection request till the time I provided him these details. I requested him that in order to stop the misuse of the phone you may block the calls now and I shall have the details sent to you once the office opens. But he did not agree to that. Once again I got the detaiols from their web site only through IVR and called again. This time the person asked about the plan that is being used. Now since these phones are being used for more than 3 years how would I have remembered the plan. The person again refused to agree.

It is a ploy of the company to delay taking of the disconnection request for as long a duration as possible so that the unauthorized usage of the device can be done and their revenue is increased. Secondly they also keep charging the rentals even though the services are suspended. These companies should be taken to task so that they do not harass the customer in their greed to increase their profits by ensuring delay in undertaking such requests.
