[Resolved]  TN Government Transport Corporation — Excess fare collected in Government buses

04/08/08
Dear Sir,

Today I have traveled to Chennai from Pondicherry. The bus starts at 5.10 am from Pondicherry bus stand. Once the bus starts and coming out of the bus stand the conductor informs that the is an express bus and every one need to pay full ticket amount even if they want to get down at Thiruvanmiyur(Its a stage in Pondy Chennai route and most of them travels up Thiruvanmiyur and get local bus from there). All other buses are charging Rs.48 up to Thiruvanmiyur from Pondicherry. The conductor of this bus asked every one to collect ticket up to Koyambedu costing Rs.55.00. When asked why he is charging in excess than the original ticket charges he is shouting like anything and asked me to pay Rs.55/- otherwise to get down the bus.

I have no other option than to pay the asked amount, i.e. in excess of Rs.8/- than the fixed price up to Thiruvanmiyur.

Please look into this and kindly instruct all the conductors to collect fare only to the distance traveled. Also arrange to suitable action on those collecting excess charges and shouting against passengers

Your faithfully
D.Prabakaran

Dear Sir
Route No : 79, which is start from Kanchipuram to Ashok pillar.Actually there no timing for 79 route bus. they are started as they want.Lot of peoples depend on 79.But most of the times, this route bus never start on time. Some, one bus started, immediately 2 or 3 bus going together. In evening time from pallavaram or tambaram, we have to wait more than hour.i would request to you, conduct the survey, whoever travel in 79 route bus then you come to know that, how much problem we are facing on that. From Tambaram to kanchipurm is 55 km. but they are driving the bust more than 1.45 minutes (ie. 79 Express also).

Dear sir,
Route NO: 246, Bus Reg NO:TN-23 N-2423 which is start from pondicheery to Vellore(via Gingee).
I have travel in this bus from Gingee on 10.01.2010 at 7.30 pm. I ask ticket to Kunnathur(Next stoping to Arani ).But the conductor give ticket up to Arani and he told me that there is no stoping at Kunnathur. In between Arani to Vellore there is only 2 (two) stoping one at kannamangalam and second is kaniyambadi. And then i show him FARE TABLE given by your origination, on that fare table there is 5 (Five) stoping between Arni to Vellore. 1.Kunnathur, 2.Onnupuram, 3.Kannamangalam, 4.Kaniyambadi, 5.Bagayam.
Now the conductor give me the ROUTE CARD which is printed by his ticket mechin. In this printed paper also there is only 2 stoping between Arani to Vellore. After that the bus reached Arani.Again the conductor give me a ticket up to kannamangalam. And he stoped at kunnathur.
Safely i am having all papers given by the conductor. Also in all Govt bus we are meeting the same problem Again and again.Even a singal Govt bus is not stopied in this stoping.

Dear Sir,

I am working in one private institution.I am living in Maraimalai Nagar Industrial Estate inside. We have limited no of buses to go Tambaram. The bus no is M118.But now a days the bus has not come timely so all people suffer lot at morning & evening.Especially for working people. Morning & evening bus will be come regularly at the duration of 15 minutes once menas we get happy. Because evening time 5 to 6 there is no bus . so we simply sit in the bus stop and waste the time.At the morning time the driver & conducters are simply eating and chatting at the bus stand for a long time. So we suffered lot in the offices.

Please Kindly do the needful sir.

TN government transport corporation — Non Issue of Ticket for Money Paid

Sir,
I am a retired Central Govt officer with Army background. I travelled on[protected] from Puducheri to Chennai by VOLVO on-Stop Bus under ticket No. 047335 issued inside the bus at 13:01:12.
At a distance of about one hours drive from Puducheri, the bus was halted at a temple/Ashram of some swami and a passenger clothed in black got into the bus. He paid Rs. 150 to the conductor but was not issued any ticket. I was able to clearly observe this. The passenger also did not demand any ticket. Obviously this is an accepted daily event.

Though the driver and the conductor were quite courteous and helpful, it is sad that even after so many anti corruption crusades the government staff remain unperturbed and encourage swindling of the government dues.

I bring this to your notice as a concerned citizen of this cursed nation. You may decide the next course of action.
