Hi all,
I purchased sarees from UP Handicrafts Handloom Palace, 54, G.C.Road, Baluganj, Agra-282001. After that, I went through this site and came to know the fradulent nature of the shopkeeper. His landline[protected] was not working and hence I and my friends went to the shop in person within 2 days to get refund. He refused to give money asking us to come the next day as it was Friday on that day and shop is closed on Friday. But such conditions were not mentioned in his bill. So we took the case to police station and got the refund without missing a single paise. That cheater shopkeeper's mobile number is[protected]. Bang him and get the money refunded. The police station was nearby and the authorities were very helpful.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I, Ganga Ratan Bagri, had gone to Agra last month. Since I was there to visit the Taj, I wanted to take a miniature piece of the Taj as a momento and urged the Auto Walla (whom we had hired for the whole day) to take us to the authorized govt. Emporium but he assured us of a reliable shop and took us to U. P. Handloom House, 9 F. M. Cariapa Road, in spite of me being reluctant.
We were welcomed by the shop keeper who showed us a replica of the mini Taj which according to him took 4 years and a few lakhs to build. He even displayed how the Taj looked at night and day with the use of lights and bulb.
Then we were ushered in where we were exposed to various marble artefacts. I was engrossed in them but the shopkeeper distracted me by saying that I would be more interested and fascinated by the saris made of Banana and Bamboo fiber for which Agra is known for. Though I never had the intention of buying any sari, just to have a look at the saris out of plant fiber made me go inside. For me, the sari out of Banana fiber looked more of a synthetic type and I was just confused. He charged 2500/- for one Banana fiber sari with silver work and with his marketing skills, motivated us to buy the product.
Moreover, the shopkeeper displayed the fiber by pulling it out of a ring and guaranteed the gold work for 5 years and when I came back home and tried the same thing with one of the synthetic saris, I was easily able to do it. This aggravated my doubt and made me look at the bill and I was surprised to see that we were not provided with a bill but only an estimate bill.
This dampened my spirits and I came across this consumer complaints. I want to know if Agra is really known for Banana fiber sari and if my product is genuine or a fake. Was the auto Walla involved and had his share of commission for bringing in customers? If I have been duped, how do I go about and get my hard earned money back.
Would be greatly obliged if I am guided and suggested.
Regards,
G. R. Bagri

Very True
I brought 3 Taj Models and 1 Small Marble show piece.
These were gifts for colleagues. I did not pay attention while they were packing the items.
I was shocked on checking the items at home as they were different from the items shown in the show room. The Taj Model was made of cheap chalk stone as they explained that chalk will leave a mark on hard wood when scrawled while marble will not. The workmanship on marble show piece was very bad. Shoddy in fact.

I, Manoj Chauhan, brought two Saree and other goods . They said Saree is made of Bamboo pulps (Rs. 1350) and banana pulps (Rs.1550).
They have given gurantee card also (5 years for manufacturing and workmanship defects).
When I bring home the Saree, I found that they have told false and also cost of saree was more than double .
After first wash all the paints dissolve and Saree was useless . I Talked to the shopkeeper and they asked me to send back the saree . At this stage I am sure that they are fraud but I send one saree (cost Rs. 1550) . Shopkeeper send me the photos of some saree on whatsup I finalise one saree from the photo . After that Shopkeeper informed me that cost of that Saree(which I finalize) is Rs. 1550/- and asked me to pay the 25% of this amount . I denied to pay then he told me ok, he will send the Saree but I have to Pay the postage charges above Rs, 200/- which I denied as postage charge is not so much and postage charge is from their side (as they informed me during purchasing).
After many argument they denied to send the Saree.
Photo of Invoice, Gurantee card, proof of sending the Saree is attached.
So Never buy any thing from such fraud shopkeeper in Agra. They are absolutely fraud .

Manoj Chauhan
