[Resolved]  Voter Id Card — Misuse of my old Voter ID card

I had misplaced my Voter's ID Card bearing no. DL/02/007/204561 dated 03/06/95 in the month of April'2008 and had lodged an FIR on 26/04/2008 for the same and had filed an Form no 8A and obtained a new Voter's ID also, but on visting the election booth on 7th May'09 I was informed that I have already given my vote showing my old voter's ID and they had details of my old Voter's ID no. as verification proof.

My complain in the matter is why was such a document acceptable inspite of my filing an FIR and intimating the same thru Form 8A. You should have a list of lost/misplaced card handy and the same should be cancelled on production of such card.

I do not feel safe with my card being still in circulation and anyone possessing such document can misuse the same and I may have to suffer its consequences. Please guide me how can I make myself safe in this regard.
