[Resolved]  XFX — faulty graphics cards

I paid $400 for a highend XFX NVidia GTX 285 in Dec 2010, within 6 weeks the card failed. Contacted XFX, they issued RMA so I returned the card, so far so good. A week later XFX emailed saying they are shipping another card to me, but not the same card, they no longer carry NVidia cards.

They are sending the HD 6850, ($170.00) a card that will not work with the Mercury Playback Engine, and not CUDA enabled that PremierePro CS5 requires for HD editing. I need an NVidia card to do my work on this pc, if I was a "gamer" it wouldn't be a problem, but that's not the case, and I've explained that to them.

XFX expects me to "accept" a lowend card for the highend card I returned to them, does that seem right? - no it isn't. XFX says that is their policy....so BUYER BEWARE!!

I will NOT accept the card they have shipped, because it is useless to my work.
I expect a refund for FAULTY merchandise....that would be the right thing for XFX to do, IF they are a reputable company, but don't hold your breath.

My advice, DON'T BUY ANYTHING WITH THE XFX logo on it, I know I won't.

Can you do something. I run a hardware review site called Hardware BBQ but I help forums incase they have any issues. I was wondering if you can post this issue on Digit forums: http://www.thinkdigit.com/forum/service-rma-watch/133443-rashi-rma-experience-th...
